It looked like Jordan had been searching for me for some time.

I turned around so that my back was facing him. Feigning a casual tone, I said, "Why have you been lurking around here all day?"

His face carried a hint of nervousness. "Why are you always at the hospital? What is going on?"

"You're always accompanying Josie to the hospital, so why can't I keep Landon company while he's at work?"

At the mention of Landon's name, Jordan frowned. "Are you living with him now?"

"It's none of your business."

"Hazel, can't you talk to me properly?" The hostility in his eyes dimmed, and his voice was even tinged with a hint of warmth.

I might not be able to hold on any longer, so I couldn't spend any more time talking to him. "If Josie saw you reminiscing about the past with me here, how do you think she'd react?"
