Chapter Thirty-One

"I love you," I confessed, looking everywhere, but his direction. Immediately the sentence left my mouth, he stopped in his track and stood there for some seconds, before slowly walking back to me. I could feel his eyes boring into mine.

"What did you say?" He asked, as if daring me to repeat what I said. Of course he was.

"I love you, Raj." I repeated, now staring into his eyes. "- I can never harbor even the thought of cheating on you. Please believe me Raj, I really do love you." I finished and hugged him. He stilled, but didn't push me away. I was glad for some seconds, before he unwrapped my hands from around his waist.

"Let's leave," he said and walked out of the room with his luggage.

I sat down on the bed with unshed tears glistening in my eyes. He didn't believe me. He thought I was lying.

I felt another lump forming in my throat as I tried to hold back the flood of emotions threatening to overwhelm me. How could he not trust me? How could he think I would lie about
