Alice sat in her living room, her eyes scanning the room as her mind whirled with thoughts. It had been a few weeks since her sonhad been discharged from the hospital and Nathan had taken them back home with the remaining kids. She had been grateful for Nathan's help during her son's hospital stay, but now his proposal to adopt all four of her children had her feeling conflicted.
