Chapter 21

Alice sat in her living room, watching her two children play together. She had been a single mother for five years now, ever since her husband passedaway. The burden of taking care of her children and providing for them had been a tough challenge, but she had managed to pull it off with her hard work and determination.

She had met Nathan, a wealthy businessman, through a mutual friend. Theyhad gone on several dates, but Alice had been hesitant to introduce him to her children. She didn't want to get their hopes up and then have them be disappointed if the relationship didn't work out.

But then, Nathan surprised her by telling her that he wanted to sponsor her children's education. Alice was at a loss for words and it took her a moment to recover from the shock.

"Are you serious?" Alice asked, disbelief written all over her face.

"Yes," Nathan nodded sincerely. "I want to give your children the opportunity to have the best education possible. It's the least I can do."
