Giselle nodded.

"Your boss dropped you?!" Blaire exclaimed.

Giselle nodded again. "Yes."

"Why? What happened to his anger and hatred towards you?" she asked.

"I am as surprised as you are. But he said that if anything happens to me, it will be on his company. He doesn't want that. He didn't do it for me," Giselle replied.

Blaire scoffed. "Yeah right. Giselle, your ex-husband still cares about you."

Giselle shook her head. "I don't think so. What he said was a solid reason. He doesn't care about me."

"But hold on, he knows where you live now?" Blaire pressed.

Giselle shook her head, making Blaire furrow her brows. "I knew the kids would be on the balcony, so I made him drop me at the last building."

"Wow. That's clever. Trust me, Archie would surely call after you if you had dropped here," Blaire said.

"You’re talking as if I don't know my kids," Giselle replied.

Blaire chuckled.

"I couldn't risk it. I had to take him down there," Giselle said, removing the band from her ha

The cold night is refreshing and pleasing. The street lights is igniting the dark nature of the night, adding to its beauty. A black car pulled up in front of a tall fancy building. The front seat door opened. "See you tomorrow," Mr Vincent said to Cameron, who nodded with a smile and got off the car. She looked at him after closing the door. "Your car will be available tomorrow." He said to her. "Thank you very much, sir." Cameron said, smiling. "You are welcome. Good night." He said. She waved a little at him as he drove away. Her smile fell as she stared at his car. She walked into the building through the glass doors. Her black heels, clicking on the spotless tiled floors claimed the attention of the male receptionist. "Welcome, ma'am." The receptionist greeted her.She didn't respond or look his way but walked towards the elevator. The receptionist dropped his gaze on his laptop. "Okay, nice snob." He muttered, looking towards the elevator. Cameron walked into the elev

"I did everything possible to bring her down academically. I made her go with me to parties I don't even want to go to. I made her drink a lot but still, she always maintained her straight A's!" Cameron yelled, making Ava flinch. Cameron scoffed. "I was the happiest when she told me she won't be able to further her education. That was an opportunity for me to be bigger than her as I have always wanted. I was fucked excited about the news. But she revealed her marriage as well." "Marriage?" Ava asked. Cameron scoffed. "The bitch got married to the most handsome man I have ever since." Ava furrowed her brows in confusion. "Xavier Sheffield. A fucking Greek god. He had nothing when he married her. He was a church rat." Cameron said. Ava gave it a thought. "That should be a great news. I mean, she ended up with a broke man. Isn't it a good thing?" She asked. Cameron scoffed and turned to her. "Why the hell would she even get married before me?" Ava raised her brows. "I am a year

Archie asked Giselle as she helped him put on his t-shirt, "Mum, are you going to work today?""Yes. It is Friday, not the weekend yet," she replied, reaching for the comb on the nightstand."Don't go to work today," he whined."Yes, Mum. Don't go. Stay with us," Ayla chimed in, standing next to her with a towel wrapped around her little body."Yes, Mum, stay with us," Archie echoed."I wish I could, but I have to go to work. If I don't work, we won't eat," Giselle explained, using the comb on Archie’s hair."But we do eat. Blaire makes food for us all the time," Ayla pointed out."That's because she is the best. But we can't continue relying on her food. I have to support her financially, and you both have to go to school," Giselle said, placing the comb down. She turned to Ayla. "When are we even going to school?" Ayla asked.Giselle opened her mouth to speak, but Archie interrupted. "Do you want to go to school?""No," Ayla answered."What the...?" As Giselle walked out of the building, the kids called, "Bye Mum!" in unison. They stood on the balcony with Blaire, waving at her."Bye," she waved back.Turning to the road, Giselle walked out of the streets and headed toward the bus stand. A bus stopped just as she arrived. She entered and joined the others who were standing, holding onto the overhead holder.Giselle wore a green knee-length dress. It was old but still fit her well. She felt tired of wearing skirts and shirts and recognized she would have to get used to them—they were like uniforms for the company. The bus kept moving, and everyone inside focused on the road, minding their own business. As they drove past the school Giselle wanted to enroll her kids in, she felt hopeful. It wasn't far from home, and she believed it would be perfect for them. They would resume on Monday. She didn't want them to continue staying at home; they were missing out on so much. She planned to use her last savings to register them and then w

“What are friends for?" Cameron asked, forcing a smile at the person she hates the most in the entire world. Giselle smiled at her, feeling a little bit secured thanks to her best friend. Cameron always makes her feel this way. Secured and assured that everything will be fine. And she believes it will. She dropped her gaze on the cup in her hands, thinking about how she would get Xavier’s hair or a cup he sipped from. It is going to be hard but she has to try.She thought about what Blaire said. Her and the kids deserve a good life. But she is not doing this for herself but for the kids. They are innocent humans who deserve a good life. She has to try and get this DNA test done. She hopes it comes out positive. She hopes Xavier is the father of her both kids. Not one. Not none. Cameron stared at her ignorant enemy. It is taking her a lot not to squeeze the daylight out the plastic cup in her hands right now. God, she hate Giselle so much. This news has done nothing but add to

Giselle watched as Xavier and Arabella held each other while speaking to Cameron. Her heart ached every time she saw them together. They had actually shared a kiss just seconds ago. She wasn't sure why she had looked their way; it was so annoying. She focused on the files, trying her hardest to understand what Rob was saying, but she couldn't concentrate because of Xavier. This was so annoying. She needed to get Xavier’s hair for the DNA test. That would be difficult, so she planned to go for his cup. But he hadn't asked for coffee or wine since then.Wasn't he thirsty?"Do you understand?" Rob asked, making her look at him.He raised an eyebrow at her.Giselle shook her head.He sighed. "Come on, Giselle, I have been explaining this to you for almost an hour," he said, sounding frustrated. She felt terrible instantly."Where is your attention?" he asked."I'm sorry, Rob. I was...""Just take it and go through them. I need a break," he said, handing the files to her and walking away.

Giselle turned her gaze away from Xavier just as Damien pulled away from the hug. He gave her a pleasant smile, and she returned it, though a wave of nervousness still lingered beneath the surface. She felt exposed beneath the dress, knowing there was nothing underneath to shield her, though the fabric did its job—barely. The slit ran dangerously high.Harley had picked the dress for her.In fact, Harley had orchestrated everything. She had intentionally caused delays in their preparations and misled Rob with false information. She’d wanted to mess with Arabella a little, claiming Arabella would fall for the misinformation and act immediately.Giselle had her doubts—but looking at Arabella now, caked in makeup and visibly fuming, it was obvious she had taken the bait.It was actually hilarious.“So, what do you think, Damien?” Harley asked.Damien shook his head slowly, his eyes still fixed on Giselle with awe, much like the others in the room.“I think I’m going to make a lot of sale

Ava bit her lips, regretting asking the question. Well, she can't back down now. She has to finish what she started. She couldn't ignore the signs. Her curiosity had to get the best of her.She seriously can't believe Giselle is here and in front of her.The same Giselle her mean girlfriend hates so much."Um...Cameron is an old friend. She talks about her friend called Giselle sometimes." Ava said.Giselle’s face twitched."So I wanted to know if you are the same Giselle she was talking about." Ava said."Yes. Cameron is my best friend." Giselle said, smiling a little.Ava is amazed by that.Giselle is not as she expected. She just called Cameron her best friend. And happily too.Giselle is instantly reminded of the little issue between her and Cameron."But we.....," she paused, looking at her fingers but looked back at Ava. "We are not in good terms."Ava nodded. "Really? Mind telling me why?Giselle shrugged but furrowed her brows a little as she recalled something."Wait, are you

Xavier was scowling at her, still pinning her to the wall. She struggled to push him away, but his strength was always too strong to fight against."What the hell is wrong with you? Why do you keep following me, huh? Go and be with your perfect baby girlfriend," she said angrily."What's your deal with my client, huh?" he asked, ignoring her words. She scoffed. Seriously?"What's your deal with him? All of a sudden he wants a change and he chose you?""Yes, he chose me. Why do you have a problem with that?" she replied. He clenched his jaw."What? Are you upset he doesn't want your mighty celebrity model anymore?"He didn't respond but kept scowling at her."News flash, Xavier, the world doesn't, and won't revolve around her even if you are the wealthiest man on earth," she retorted. He hummed. "I see. I get it now. I see why he prefers you."She looked away from him."Damien is one of your clients, isn't he?"She looked at him with furrowed brows. "Excuse me?""He is one of those men

“Yes, that's right. Damien from the mall the other day," Harley said.Giselle nodded slightly as Damien kept staring at her. She moved a strand of her hair behind her ear nervously. Especially when I was smitten by your sister here," Damien said, looking at Giselle."Oh," Harley responded.Damien smiled at Giselle, and she smiled back."She is not her sister," Xavier spoke up, claiming their attention and reminding them of his presence."What?" Arabella didn't respond."I know you are young. But you shouldn't be a fool as well." Giselle said. "What the fuck did you just say to me?" Arabella asked. "You heard me. Just as she had thought. That stranger was her twins' father.
