Chapter 6

Jayden’s POV

"I don't feel too good." Katherine staggered slightly, putting her palm over her face. I held her waist so she wouldn't fall to the ground, peering into her face that grew pale.

I helped her to my car and then sped to the hospital. "How are you feeling now?" I asked often, glancing at her as I continued to speed down the road. She was starting to wheeze, taking sharp breaths. I knew what it was—an asthma attack.

I surfed through her purse and found her inhaler. My attention was divided between the road and her. I pumped it down her lungs, but there didn't seem to be any improvement.

"Please hold on; we'll be at the hospital soon." Her eyes got teary. The gasps didn't stop. I drove above the speed limit, not caring about anything else but her. Soon, I was at the hospital. She was wheeled in and given prompt attention. She was almost unconscious. "Is she going to be okay?" I asked the doctor who walked out of her hospital room, taking his gloves off his hands.
