2. Run Away

"How?" Lydia screamed again.

She had just woken up when she heard her alarm go off. But as soon as she turned to the other side of the bed, still sleepy, Lydia's half-closed eyes collided with a sight she thought was only found in movies or novels.

Slowly, Lydia moved her eyes to look at herself. Even without removing the blanket, Lydia could feel that she was wearing nothing, but still she peered under the blanket and almost squealed.

"What's going on?" muttered Lydia as she crept up to lean against the headboard.

 "Be quiet."

The baritone voice she knew so well made Lydia jump. She turned her head and was shocked to see the man with his back to her.

"Oh, my God. Polar bear," Lydia muttered under her breath.

Lydia jumped when the man moved again. Fortunately, she didn't wake up, just mumbling in her sleep.

Not wanting to stay in that place any longer, Lydia got out of bed. Then she picked up her clothes, flinching occasionally when Reino moved or mumbled in his sleep.

"Oh, my God. Where the hell am I?" muttered Lydia as she made it safely out of the room.

Not wanting to stay in that place and get caught by the polar bear, Lydia immediately ran in an uncertain direction. The important thing was to get out of that place first.

"Oh God, why does it hurt now," Lydia mumbled as she sat comfortably in the online taxi she had ordered. She couldn't stop saying God's name.

"What's wrong, ma'am?" the taxi driver asked, thinking he was being spoken to.

 "Nothing is wrong."

The driver didn't answer again, but Lydia could see the old Asian man watching her with a strange look from the back of his head. And Lydia could guess why. What else could people think when they saw a woman coming out of a hotel so early in the morning, in a hurry and a little disheveled?

A cheap woman selling herself. And that made Lydia hug herself reflexively, pulling her skirt-covered thighs tighter above the knee. Enduring the sting that was still very much there, even with the slightest movement.

"Damn alcohol," Lydia murmured even more quietly so the driver wouldn't hear.

Lydia was already remembering what had happened last night and it was giving her a headache. How could she enjoy everything if it was the first time? Wasn't it supposed to hurt?

It was wild and rough, but it was good. Super good.

"Argh, Lydia. Stop remembering that incident," she growled inwardly.

"Stop thinking perverted thoughts and forget it. It was just a mistake that will never happen again," Lydia continued mentally.

Reino still wriggled with his eyes closed. It felt like a long time since he slept this well and he had to admit that it was because he was 'satisfied' last night. Very satisfied, in fact.

"Hey, let's do it again," Reino called out without getting an answer.

"Did you hear me?" the big man asked, still not noticing the silence in the room.

Reino sat up and glanced around the room. There was no sign of his ex-wife. He immediately went to the bathroom to look for her, but no one was there.

Not caring that he was still naked with morning wood that had not yet worn off, Reino opened the glass door that led to the balcony. He even opened the bedroom door to see if the woman he slept with last night was in the room.

"How dare she leave me alone," Reino growled, annoyed to death.

There was no history of Reino being left wordlessly after making love. He was the one who always left his partner so satisfied. This was the first time Reino had fallen asleep after making love, and this was the first time he had been left behind. Obviously, this made his pride fall and his ego flinch.

"You're late, sir," Reino's secretary greeted the sour-faced man as he arrived at her desk.

Reino didn't answer, but walked straight into the room and slammed the door. The secretary was stunned. It was certain that Reino was in a very bad mood, and as the secretary who took care of his boss, she had to be careful today.

"Excuse me, sir. Have you changed your clothes yet?" she asked after taking a closer look at her boss.

"If you already know, go get me some new clothes," Reino scolded, completely furious.

The woman in her late twenties, who had been his secretary for a year, fled to a special room in Reino's office. She grabbed a new set of clothes, which were always available there, and carefully placed them on Reino's desk.

"Has the card been returned?" asked Reino with closed eyes, trying to compose himself. He couldn't possibly work with unstable emotions, especially since he had an important meeting today.

"The card... ah. The card that was loaned to the finance department has been returned, sir. The manager herself returned it."

"Why not... what was her name again? The one I gave the card to yesterday?" asked Reino, already forgetting his ex-wife's name. They had been divorced only a month ago, and they worked in the same office.

"Lydia, sir. I heard her manager say she was sick. Maybe she drank too much alcohol?" the secretary replied in a questioning tone.

Reino hissed in annoyance at the statement. Lydia's excuse was that she was sick, but couldn't she have avoided him? Was yesterday's experience so unpleasant?

"Get out," Reino snapped at the secretary, who immediately turned around.

Reino started to change his clothes with annoyance and rough movements. He caught a glimpse of her body in the reflection of the glass wall and was even more annoyed.

"Her body is barely curvy and now she's avoiding me?" growled Reino.

"What a stupid woman. She should be proud to climb into the bed of this perfect Reino Andersen," Reino grumbled endlessly while changing his clothes.

Reino sighed. He just realized that what he had been doing since earlier was definitely something strange. Why should he think about a woman who was already an ex-wife?

And hey, Reino Andersen was used to one-night stands. So why even think about it?

"She's just one of the many women who have warmed your bed, Reino, no need to think about it too much. You'll get over it as usual," he muttered to himself.

"But no. I still feel like I should teach that woman a lesson for leaving me like that."

"Excuse me?" asked Lydia with her eyes wide open. Lydia had just received an intercom call from her boss, who said he had just finished a meeting with the big boss. And what she was about to hear left her in shock."Mr. Reino says he wants to see you, Lydia. He wants to thank you for last year's shortfall and our new product budget." Her manager's words made Lydia's eyes widen even more. Why would the stingy Reino suddenly want to thank her? And that was for last year's incident. "Isn't that wrong, ma'am?" asked Lydia, sure that her manager had misunderstood. There was no way she could get credit for something like that."It's not wrong, Lyd. You should go to the upstairs room now. It's not often that ordinary employees like us get to see Boss Reino's handsome face." "Handsome my ass," Lydia shouted to herself. With a very lazy movement, Lydia couldn't help but walk out of her room. She felt extremely depressed about meeting her fake ex-husband. Especially when this man was as co

"Ugh..." Lydia winced and then grimaced in pain as she got up from the toilet seat and walked to the sink. After washing her hands, Lydia looked at her reflection in the mirror. Even to the naked eye, she could clearly see the red spots on her neck. There weren't many, but one stood out the most. Around the base of Lydia's neck were faint finger-like marks. As if she had been strangled. And there was no need to ask whose fingerprints they were. They were Reino Andersen's. "This is really crazy. How could it be like that? That polar bear almost killed me." Lydia, remembering the events of last night, got goosebumps. It really had been a hot and brutal night. Lydia had to remember to cover this up for a while in the afternoon before her mother and brother came home."Shitting hurts so much, God," Lydia mumbled after she managed to get back on her bed. Lydia was in so much pain right now. Everyone says that making love is so good, but what is this? The process was fun, but the pain

Lydia's steps stopped and she stared at her colleague for a moment. If she was honest, Lydia was actually uncomfortable being carried by someone of the opposite sex she wasn't too close to. That's why she always preferred online taxis to motorcycle taxis. But since it was still the middle of the month and her finances were low, she said yes. "But I didn't go straight home. Lydia mentioned the name of a cafe and Revan immediately agreed to take her there. He said he happened to have some business nearby

"Lyd, Mr. Reino called you again." Mrs. Nia exclaimed in a tired tone. "Again?" Lydia squealed in disbelief. It was already the fourth day since Reino had played a prank on Lydia. The man would ask Lydia to come in under the pretense of a report, then she would only be told to stand. Then she would be sent away after Reino got bored. Lydia had also been told to rewrite the report several times and to return to the original format in the end. Yesterday, Reino even yelled at her and threw a piece of paper in her face. The paper scratched Lydia's face. Lydia didn't understand why the polar bear was always picking on her. What's wrong with being rejected? "What exactly did you do to make Mr. Reino act like that?" asked Ms. Nia, accompanied by curious looks from everyone. "I don't know either." Lydia was forced to lie. There was no way she could say that she had refused to sleep with Reino Andersen. "You weren't harmed while you were in there?" asked Revan with great concern

Mrs. Nia asked with a weary sigh. "Already, ma'am." "Then take it to Mr. Reino right away." Mrs. Nia sigh again. "Huh?" "Take it to Mr. Reino right away, Lydia." Mrs. Nia repeated, still sounding tired. "Oh, okay. I'll send it by email." Lydia replied still confused. "Bring it Lydia." Mrs. Nia growled, annoyed that she had to repeat herself three times. "Mr. Reino wants a hard copy. And just bring it, don't ask too many questions." Mrs. Nia scolded impatiently. Unable to resist anymore, Lydia just said yes with a confused look on her face. Even Kiara and Revan looked at her in surprise. Something was clearly wrong here. How could an ordinary employee like her be asked to deliver a report

He had broken his shy nerve to say all that, but this skinny woman didn't even listen properly? "I want to make a new contract with you." "And what contract do you mean, sir?" Reino snarled angrily when Lydia still did not understand his meaning. Was she stupid or what? "I think I told you before. Be my bedmate, friend with benefits or whatever it's called." Reino glared at Lydia angrily. "Sorry, I still don't understand." Lydia replied, making Reino even angrier. "Are you stupid?
