Chapter 16- The Rejection

“Maymunah? What are you doing?” Killian asked in confusion.

“Come on, get up Maymunah…” Kendra quickly rushed to her side, “What were you thinking, kneeling down like that?” The she-wolf helped the old hag to her feet.

“What’s going on?” She and Killian both asked at the same time, waiting for the Oracle’s reply.

But the old woman continued to move about, seeming exceptionally happy all of a sudden. “Oh, you two clueless pups,” She finally said. “Don’t you see? The goddess of the moon has come to our aid. The curse has been broken.”

“I-I don’t understand.” Kendra shook her head in confusion. What was going on with the Seer? Had the over-exertion perhaps affected her in more ways than they could imagine?

Because she was really acting all weird.

“Kendra, Killian. Take a seat you two, I’m going to explain everything.”

The two wolves did as the oracle said.

“You know we’re supernatural, right?” She started.

Kendra and Killian shared a silent look. It was

CHAPTER 17- Elinor Kendra knew now what true loneliness was. She thought she did before, but she had never realised that there was loneliness, and then there was loneliness. She now understood the word in its true, raw form. Artemis had gone back to her hometown for a little while Rhea, her nanny had also gone to Kreiway to see her bouncy baby grandson. As for Maymunah, the she-wolf told herself that she’d rather hang at the gallows than go seeking the old hag’s company. She was still angry with the Oracle… because it wasn’t as though she could exactly go and pour her frustrations out on Selene, the goddess of the moon— so Maymunah was a close enough second. And Killian, the one who usually made things a bit more bearable did not want to see her. Or at least that was what the female Beta thought. You see, guilt was eating her alive. More so than usual, in fact. And so she was back to her old ways of avoiding him… wanting to save them both the trouble and spare them another a

CHAPTER 18- Artemis returns “Beta Sullivan, today’s milled corn’s looking coarser than usual. Is that supposed to happen?” Kendra chuckled at the question. Normally she’d have no knowledge on that, but her love for reading had made her quite the expert. “Well, technically, no… but it does happen sometimes, Mavis.” She addressed the short, chubby, woman with raven dark hair. “And I’ve told you to call me Kendra.” “I’m sorry, milady— I mean, Kendra…” The older woman corrected with a soft chuckle, “That is going to take some time to get used to.” Kendra giggled. “No problem. Take all the time you need. Now back to the corn… you’ll have to mill it again. Keep doing it until the fineness is up to your taste, alright?” “Yes, mi—Kendra.” Kendra laughed out loud as she watched the older woman leave, going back to her work of sorting out lentils. She had to admit, working with the women wasn’t so bad… At all. She had had more fun in the past week than she had had her entire adult life

  • Evading the Cursed Alpha   19. YOU CAN'T F*** WITH MY LIFE

Who knew it was going to take one of their now routine fall outs to get Kendra to befriend the she-wolves in the pack? Honestly speaking, Killian never thought he’d live to see the day that happened. He hadn’t believed Miguel when he had reported his observations, and so he had sent Dante, who only came back with the same news. In the end, he had gone himself to absolutely confirm the miracle… even though he had made sure that she didn’t see him. For her to agree to hang out with the she-wolves rather than spar told him just how much she wanted to avoid him this time. And so he was going to respect her decision. If Killian was being honest with himself, he was doing all of this because he still had a sliver of hope in his heart that all wasn’t too late— that she was going to come around eventually. That was the only thing he was counting on as at now. She just had to come around. They had about a month until the red moon— their very own apocalypse. And Killian was fully prepar

Maymunah wanted to see her. Kendra had half a mind to ignore the Oracle’s summons, but she had been told that it seemed urgent. And Kendra knew that Maymunah was usually the type to wait for you to cool down and approach her on your own. She didn’t go seeking people out like that, especially when she knew they were angry at her. So she found herself heading towards the old woman’s wing, clad in just her nightwear and a robe, but not really caring because it was just going to be the two of them, and she wasn’t really going to spend much time there. Imagine her surprise when she got there only to realise that they were not alone. At that point, turning back to go and change seemed like a really unnecessary thing to do. It wasn’t exactly as if she was completely naked, hell… you could even call her nightwear fairly decent as compared to some of the things the other she-wolves strutted about in in the guise of clothes. And so Kendra entered the room, greeting the two inhabitants… a b

  • Evading the Cursed Alpha   21. THE QUEST

Kendra had seriously had enough. The heated, stolen gazes, the professional, innocent but desire-packed touches… It was all a bit too much for the Beta. Especially when she seemed to be the one suffering the most between the two of them. For some reason, Killian seemed to have had complete control over himself in all the times they had interacted, but she? Everything he did had her feeling some type of way… She felt flustered when he looked in her direction, She felt cackling sparks of electricity when their fingers brushed each other’s unintentionally, And gods, don’t even get her started on their sparring sessions. Kendra was really being tortured. It was thankfully the end of a long, arduous, week, but oh, the female Beta had a plan. It had been brewing in her soul all week, so much so that she had carefully given it all kinds of contemplations and assessment. She had already decided; and no one was going to be able to change her mind. Not even Killian. She needed to g

  • Evading the Cursed Alpha   22. THE TOUGH DECISION

Tuesday morn. Killian stared long and hard at his reflection in the mirror as he adjusted his cravat. If one looked real close, they would have seen the shine in his eyes… the shine that was half tears, half determination. Oh, but men didn’t cry, And Alphas definitely had that dreaded word deleted from their vocabulary. The Alpha of the Silver Crest Pack had this heavy feeling in his chest, and you definitely would have one too if you had to do what he was about to in a few minutes. ‘Alpha, everything is set.’ His gamma, Miguel announced through the mind link. The hour had finally come, it seemed. ‘Is she still in her chambers?’ ‘Yes, Alpha. Rhea is in there with her as we speak, she wouldn’t be coming out any time soon.’ Came the reply. Good. ‘I’ll be with you shortly,’ Killian finally said, shutting off the mind link. With a sigh, he continued working on his cravat, gods knew how much he hated these things, but he figured it would probably be the last time he’d wear one any

  • Evading the Cursed Alpha   23. ALPHA WITHOUT A PACK

“Done packing your stuff?” Rhea asked her ward as she entered her chambers with a steaming cup of coffee and an assortment of meats. She had left Kendra to go find both of them something to eat after the younger wolf had lashed out at her so, and now that she was back, it wasn’t that hard to see the guilty look on the girl’s face. She was just like her mother in that regard, the resemblance was so scarily uncanny.Kendra pounced on the food, stuffing her face full while nodding absentmindedly at her nanny’s many questions. She didn’t know she was that hungry, being lost in feeling nostalgic as she packed for her adventure. She had decided to pack light… very light. If she was joining troupes, there was no need packing anything extravagant, all she needed were about five tunics, and two pairs of breeches, and some pantaloons, oh and a binder for her tits. She had forgotten to pack those. She made a mental note to do so after she was done. For now, what she needed to do was apologise to

  • Evading the Cursed Alpha   24. THE STORM

Even before she started the run, Kendra knew that Killian was eventually going to catch up. He wasn’t the best horseman in all of Dronis for nothing, after all. Granted, she wasn’t so bad herself, and Nightshade was a dear most of the time. That attitude was reserved exclusively for her though, and he was just plain rude and mean to everyone else, yet he did allow other people to ride him, But Killian and his horse, Ethereal’s relationship was just— for lack of a better word— otherworldly. The two understood each other, so much so that sometimes, the Alpha didn’t even need to issue commands, the white mare could just sense what he wanted. Oh, and she only allowed Killian to ride her. With Killian rapidly closing the distance between them, Kendra found herself pushing Nightshade more than she usually did, but the horse wasn’t complaining though. They crossed Silver Crest in less than an hour, entering the thick forest that would lead them into Quirkshire… and that was when the clou

CHAPTER 84- BLOODY FUCKING HELL (Epilogue) One week later “No! I do not believe you.” This time Katie, our busty blond from chapter one was the one doing all the exclaiming, her heavy breasts swinging from side to side as she shook her head in disbelief at her friend Jen’s incredible tale, “You are lying.” “Why would I lie about such a thing?” Jen huffed in annoyance at the accusation, “I saw it with my own eyes. The Alpha’s daughter has a golden birthmark right where her heart should be.” “H—how did you even manage that? No one is even allowed near their nursery for crying out loud.” “Well… let us just say that I have my ways, but do you understand what that means?” She whispered conspiratorially, “She really has a heart of gold. Just like Aphrodite had proclaimed.” But Jen was not convinced. “Perhaps it is not what you think… maybe it is just a birthmark and nothing more. But if it truly is, then I—I do not understand… h—how would that even work?” The skinny redhead tried to w

    83. LABOR “What does a heart of gold even mean, Kendra?” Artemis Landon asked as they discussed the issue again, confusion very much apparent in her green eyes as she played with her friend’s hair. “You think she meant it in the literal sense?” Kendra shook her head as she pondered over the question, the same one that had been on hers and everyone else’s mind since news of her pregnancy had spread. “I honestly do not think so… that would just be preposterous, you know? Not to talk about being practically impossible.” She rubbed her rapidly protruding stomach fondly, “Perhaps Aphrodite meant one of my children would be kind-hearted?” “Perhaps.” Artemis conceded, her eyes bright with amusement at Aphrodite’s cunning ways. Three months had passed since Kendra and Killian’s union, and it had been nothing but absolute bliss… even though Aphrodite’s prophecy had had them thinking. The grandiose ceremony had been an unforgettable one, with so much pomp and splendour that was unlikely to

  • Evading the Cursed Alpha   82. THE INTIMATE CEREMONY

Yellow flickering lights lit up the expansive outdoors right behind the Silver Crest Pack house. As a matter of fact, Kendra had to do a double take when she looked around, for even she could barely recognise the place. Morgana and whoever had chipped in to help had really done wonders on this one. A beautiful bride. That was what Kendra was, dressed in sheer, white silk that was in no way modest… and yet she was the epitome of delicateness and innocence— two words Kendra could say she was not really familiar with. She felt like one too—a beautiful bride, that is—as her nanny, Rhea led her through the parted crowd. Howls announced her entrance instead of the normal wedding chants and bells, and her feet bore no shoes… Yes, Kendra was no ordinary bride. She and Killian were practically already married, but if she was being honest, there was just something about doing things the right way that had her feeling… fulfilled. That had her feeling new again, refilled with the beauty and

“What do you mean by we are having it tonight?” Killian voiced out his confusion. “Tonight will definitely not be possible, Morgana,” Kendra joined in. “How are we going to get ready in just six hours? There’s a whole lot to do… invites have not even been sent out—” “Woah, woah, woah guys… don’t shoot the messenger?” The Silver Witch tried to calm them down, “Listen to everything I have to say first at least before freaking out.” When she was sure that her words had gotten to them and they had calmed down, she continued, “The ceremony is going to be in two parts, the secret session which will be held only in front of your entire pack, and the grand session which would take place on any day of your choosing. You can invite anyone you would like for that one.” “I see. It’s not so bad then,” Kendra agreed, adjusting her share of the covers as she sat up in the huge bed. “See? I told you it is not.” Morgana replied, “However… there’s one little part that perhaps, you two might find un

    80. THE ANNOYING INTERRUPTION Almost two weeks had passed since the Silver Crest Pack returned to their territory and they had pretty much returned to their former glory already—if not most definitely surpassed it, that is.Killian had been made head of the werewolf Council, and already, plans were underway to regroup the small werewolf communities into much larger groups so they could be better protected. Not only that, but the communities had been receiving grain and aid while the plans were being drawn out, and they were also being guarded in case of emergencies like an unexpected attack.Truly, it had been a stressful, but fruitful two weeks. So busy that Killian had barely had the time to see his mate… or even rest with her, yet alone to talk of having a quick tumble in the sheets. The Alpha was agitated, his wolf even more so… for all he wanted was to relax with Kendra in bed, talking at least, if not doing anything else. But with power came an even greater responsibility. The

79- RESTORATION The Alpha and his mate, and their mini entourage stood rooted before their carriage, even as the fuming green eyed alpha approached them, quite confused with the whole scene unfolding before them. Their confusion quickly turned into annoyance though, for when Tyrone reached them—his own Beta, Patrick in tow, his angry countence quickly disappeared, and he began to burst into loud laughter instead. “H—how I wish an artist could have captured your faces in a painting. I was just joking. ” He wheezed in amusement, turning to his beta who was for the sake of Kendra and Killian trying real hard to keep a straight face. “I guess my acting skills did pay off after all.” He said. “This is not funny, Tyrone.” Kendra voiced out her displeasure, “I cannot even believe I missed this,” She muttered under her breath to Killian’s hearing, but Tyrone heard her too. “Ouch.” A hand went against his chest as though he had been wounded by her words, “I am going to ignore all of that

CHAPTER 78- THE JOURNEY BACKThe send-off party had been a truly wonderful blast. It had gone on deep into the wee hours of dawn, ensuring that the Alpha and his mate did not go back to bed for a brief moment of shut-eye even. Instead, they had headed straight into a provided carriage almost immediately after the ceremony had ended, waving their goodbyes to the crowd that had come to see them off after they had said their special goodbyes to Aiyisha and her sister, Yelena, Sanjit and Leray and the old couple, Saul and Rida. They had even bid the old, annoying, retired Alpha a special goodbye before they left, for despite his bad side, he had not cast them out of his pack when they had come to him for help. Honestly speaking, the two would have just been content with two horses as their parting gift which they would have had had returned once they retrieved their own horses from Désirée’s tavern— but Aiyisha would have none of it, insisting that she wanted to send them off in true Dna
