Tina looked at her watch, she felt so annoyed that Tim had dared to leave her for so long, let alone ignore her phone calls. Who did he think that he was? All because his daughter had to run off. Millie and Eddie kept asking when they would be home but Tina could not give them an answer since she had no idea. Tim was still not answering his phone and Tina decided to lock the doors and let him get on with it. She got the twins ready for their baths and then did their normal bedtime routine. “Is daddy going to read us a story?” Millie wanted to know and Eddie kept demanding some biscuits with his milk. Tina had had enough. “Get to bed now. NOW YOU LITTLE PESTS!” She screamed at them causing the twins to look horrified and rush to their beds. Tina went back downstairs ignoring the sound of them crying because they didn’t like being shouted at like that. She did not have any guilt over shouting, it was all getting on top of her now and she had had enough.
Tim felt very uncomfortable being at the pack again, it was strange since the last time he had had been here. Seeing his best friends son, the now alpha, glaring at him from the corner while he hugged his daughter. He had always known that this time would come. However, it was not how he thought it to be though. “What are you talking about? Are you on drugs?” Eva exclaimed pushing her father away from her and shaking her head in disgust. It was bad enough that she had been bought to this place let alone her father spouting some crazy stuff in front of all these strangers. Eva looked up nervously expecting them all to be laughing and pointing. She was just surprised when they were not. Then her eyes made contact with Sebastian and her heart skipped a beat. She did not know why he had this effect on her, he was hypnotising. Those eyes! That hair! She wanted to badly to run her fingers through his hair and feel his skin on hers. “It is true. And you are
“It’s ok, Eva. See it’s the truth.” Mitchell came rushing into the room causing Eva to stop screaming. She held onto him so tight that Sebastian growled in jealousy. He did not like seeing another male with his hands on her. She was his. Mitch pulled himself away from Eva upon hearing the growls from his alphas beta and not wanting to cause an issue. “What is this place!” Eva yelled. She shook her head and refused to believe it was happening. Her mother would have never kept such a dark secret from her. Why would she? Tim had been lying. Maybe they were all just high or drugs or perhaps even some huge prank for one of those television shows. Tim was back into his human form not liking his daughters horrified screams for help. “You did not just turn into a wolf. I am just imagining things.” Eva was in denial causing her father to sigh and pull on the spare clothes that the alpha had thrown to him. “It’s true, he’s not lying. Your mother was human and your dad wolf so you have a
Millie pulled the covers up over her head and turned on the torch. She was frightened to be in the house alone with just her twin brother. “It will be ok, I will look after you,” Eddie assured his twin sister by squeezing her hand. Millie shrieked as someone was outside hammering on the door. Eddie tried his best to be as brave as he could but it was scary. Neither of them knew where their mother and father were. Suddenly the door burst open and a strange man came in, switching on the bedroom light. “Millie? Eddie?” he called out gently. The Twins stayed as still as they could but then the man pulled the duvet up and grinned with relief at the sight of them. “It's ok, I am a friend of your father. I am going to take you to him right now.” He explained to the twins and they nodded. “Ok, can you get your shoes and coats on for me please and then we can go and see your daddy?” The Twins did as they were asked, Millie clutched her favourite teddy to her chest and
Daddy, where is mummy and Eva? Can we see them soon?” Millie wiped her tired eyes and gazed up at her father with such innocence. Eddie held his sisters hand and tugged at Tim’s shirt with his other hand. “Yes, Daddy when can we see them, please?” Tim smiled down at his two precious twins. He ruffled their hair and grinned. But, inside his heart was breaking. He knew that he would have to tell them something soon. Alpha Morgan did not take it lightly that children were mistreated. He had ordered for Tina to stay in the dungeon until he felt she had learnt her lesson. He also felt that she could pose a risk to Eva since it was clear how much she disliked the young girl. Tim picked Millie up and placed her on the bed and then picked up Eddie placing him on the bed next to Millie. “Perhaps, tomorrow. We will see. For now, you get some sleep.” He firmly told them and planted a kiss on each of their foreheads before tucking them into bed. “Night night.” The twins chorused. “Goodn
The very next morning, Eva was awoken by excited giggles from her little brother and sister. Sitting up in the bed, she smiled at her younger siblings and everything from yesterday came rushing back to her like a smack in the mouth. “Eva, daddy says that we can have a day off school. We are so excited. Can we go for a picnic in the woods.” Eddie squealed with eagerness as he threw himself on Eva, she laughed as he hugged her neck tightly. “Oh, please. Eva. Can we?” Millie begged with a cute pout that Eva just could not refuse her. Although Eva was feeling tired still and just wanted to be left alone, she would do anything for the twins. Since they were still so young and probably would not understand everything that was going on. Eva wished that life was not this complicated but she knew that there was no point in dwelling on something that could not be changed. It was driving her mad but she reached for her necklace and panic set in whe
“Eva, are you sure this is what you want? Do you need more time to think things over?” Alpha Morgan wanted to ensure that she was one hundred per cent certain since once it was out, there would be no going back. Sebastian glanced at his mate and wanted to hold her so badly. She looked so timid as she nodded at the alpha. “Let’s go for a run.” Alpha Morgan suggested and scraped his chair back. Eva looked confused. “A run?” Her voice sounded shaky. Sebastian knelt at Eva’s level. “It will be easier to understand. You will be ok with me.” He held his hand out to her, and Eva instantly took it. She felt better with him beside her. She could not explain it. Tim was surprised when he saw Eva going outside with the alpha and Sebastian but smiled as it confirmed they were progressing. It was a shame that things had not been out in the open many years ago, but he knew that, at the time, it had been for the best. “Daddy, where is Mum
Lara did not like the long journey one bit, but the thought of seeing Eva again made her keep on going. She needed to see her, tell her the truth and get everything off her chest. She had spent so long creeping behind her best friend's back with her boyfriend, then Eva had lost her mum, and Lara knew she had been such a shitty friend. The train finally pulled in at her station, and she grabbed her bags and hurried into the crowd of other passengers getting off. The doors slammed shut behind her, and the train squealed on down the platform leaving Lara standing alone. She stared at her surroundings and took a deep breath. Her phone rang for what was probably the millionth time. She knew it was him without even looking, but there was no way that she was going to answer it; he would only try and persuade her to go back to him, full of empty promises and meaningless sorries. Lara missed her best friend so much that she hated herself for letting a guy come
After a few minutes of walking, Granny Agnes stopped in front of a large stone door. The door was adorned with intricate carvings and symbols similar to those on the tombs they had seen earlier."This is the entrance to the Lady's lair," Granny Agnes said, her voice low and serious. "We'll need to be careful. She's not going to give up without a fight."Ava nodded, her eyes locked on the door. "I'm ready," she said, her voice firm. “Twins?”Millie and Eddie nodded in agreement. “We are ready.” Granny Agnes smiled a hint of determination in her eyes. "Good. Let's get this over with."With a deep breath, Granny Agnes pushed the door open, revealing a dimly lit chamber filled with rows of ancient artefacts. The air was thick with the scent of old books and dust.Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a tall, gaunt woman with long silver hair and piercing green eyes. She was dressed in a flowing black gown, and her presence seemed to fill the room."Welcome back, children,"
As they walked through the passageway, the air grew thick with an eerie mist that seemed to cling to their skin. Eddie and Millie couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, and the humming noise had grown so loud that it was almost deafening. Ava led the way, her eyes fixed on some point ahead. They stumbled over roots and rocks, their hearts pounding with fear. Suddenly, Ava stopped dead in her tracks. "Wait," she whispered. "Do you see that?" Eddie and Millie followed her gaze, and their eyes widened in horror. Ahead of them lay a vast, dark chamber with rows of ancient tombs. The air was thick with the scent of decay and death, and the humming noise seemed to come from within the tombs themselves. "What is this place?" Millie whispered, her voice trembling with fear. Ava's eyes locked onto hers. "This is the Lady's tomb," she said. "And we have to get out of here before she awakens." Eddie and Millie exchanged a desperate glance. They knew they had to get out of
The Lady's eyes seemed to bore into Eddie's soul as she spoke, her words dripping with malice. "You are wrong, boy," she said. "I am your mother. And you are my children, my dears."Eddie felt a chill run down his spine as he stared at the Lady. He shook his head, trying to clear the fog from his mind. "No," he repeated. "You're not our mother. Our mother is dead."The Lady's expression turned cold, her eyes flashing with anger. "You don't know what you're talking about," she spat. "You don't know who I am or what I am capable of."Millie stepped forward, her eyes flashing with defiance. "We don't care who you are or what you're capable of," she said. "We're not going anywhere with you."The Lady's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, but you will," she said. "You will do as I say because I can make you."As she spoke, the air around them grew darker and more menacing. The trees seemed to loom closer, their branches reaching like skeletal fingers. Eddie and Millie
"Hey!" he yelled out. "There you two are. We need to get out of here! Now!"The twins exchanged a glance, and without hesitation, they followed Jason back into the forest.“Where are we going, Jason?” Millie asked as she held her brother's hand and ran behind Jason. "We're going to the safe house," Jason replied, breathing heavily as he dodged low-hanging branches and leapt over roots. "We must get out of the woods before the pack tracks us down."The twins kept pace with Jason, their eyes scanning the surrounding trees for any signs of pursuit. As they ran, they could hear the distant sounds of battle growing fainter, replaced by the rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs. After a few minutes of running, the trees began to thin out, and they saw a small clearing in the distance. In the centre of the clearing stood a small cottage surrounded by a thick hedge of thorny bushes.Jason led them to the cottage, where they burst through the door and found themselves in a cosy, dimly lit
“Please. Give me a chance. I do not deserve it, but I want to correct my wrongs.” Seraphina continued to plead, and Alpha Duane scowled. He had had enough of her already. “Fine, prove yourself. One foot wrong, and you are to meet your end.” Alpha Duane insisted as he gestured for everyone to follow him. “Let's go.” Seraphina felt a rush of relief as the pack began to come together to form a plan to take down the Shadowscale and protect Alpha Duane and the children. Despite the betrayal and distrust that had clouded their relationships, they all knew that they needed to unite to overcome this dangerous threat. As they gathered in a circle, the weight of their mission hung heavy in the air. Seraphina spoke up. "We need to act quickly and decisively to outsmart the Shadowscale. They are powerful, but together we are stronger. We must devise a plan to protect Alpha Duane and this pack and the children at all costs." Jason nodded in agreement, his eyes reflecting his determina
As Seraphina sat in her cell, her expression hardened with anger and frustration. She knew that her time was running out, and she needed to find a way to explain her actions to the pack, especially to Jason. Of course, they would all be against her for getting their Alpha hurt. She thought that maybe if she could get him on her side and explain it so that he could stand by her side and protect her from the wrath, she would have no choice but to face it. Jason stood guard outside her cell, his features set in anger and sadness at the betrayal she had committed. Feeling a sense of desperation, Seraphina called out to Jason, her voice carrying a hint of vulnerability that was rarely seen from her. "Jason, there's something you need to know,” she said. “What is it, Seraphina? I don't have time for games,” Jason sighed, his voice tinged with impatience as he tried to mask the concern that flickered in his eyes. He had always been a man of action, and the situation's urgency left
Inside the hospital wing, Alpha Duane lay unconscious on the bed, and his features strained from the injuries he had sustained during the rogue attack. The room was filled with sad worry as the pack members gathered around, anxiously awaiting any improvement in their Alpha's condition. Eddie and Millie arrived, and they wasted no time assessing Alpha Duane's injuries, their expert hands moving swiftly as they worked to stabilise him and administer the necessary treatments. The pack breathed, hoping and praying for their Alpha to pull through.Amelia observed as the Twins worked together to help the Alpha to heal. She was impressed by their abilities, considering they were so young. Meanwhile, in the cells, Seraphina sat silently, her expression cold and devoid of remorse. Despite the accusations against her, she remained defiant, her words dripping with arrogance and disdain for the pack's authority.“Seraphina, why did you do this? What did you gain from it?” Eva yelled angrily as
Almost an hour had passed since Alpha Duane had left with Seraphina. Eva had settled the baby down and felt more at ease now Seraphina had gone. She didn't like the way she made her feel. As Eva made her way down the corridors and back out of the pack house, she bumped into someone she wasn't expecting to see. “Wait, what? Gabriel, how are you here? What's going on?” Eva gasped, incredulous. “Gabriel?” Sebastian echoed, his eyes widened in disbelief. He couldn’t fathom what he was seeing and hearing. Eva turned to Sebastian, panic evident in her eyes. “It's Gabriel. He's back,” she said, her words stuttering as she tried to process the situation. “But Alpha Duane has gone with Seraphina to look for you. She said she knew you and wanted to help you,” Gabriel explained, taking a clumsy step back, almost losing his balance. Sebastian caught him just in time, helping him steady himself, while Eva quickly fetched a chair for him to sit in. Gabriel slowly settled into the chair, placin
Millie and Eddie watched with curiosity as Seraphina conversed with Alpha Duane and the rest of the pack. But the mysterious newcomer piqued their interest, her past and intentions shrouded in shadow.“There is something about her, I just cannot put my finger on it.” Millie whispered to her twin brother. As they observed from a distance, Eva approached her siblings with urgency in her eyes. She knew the dangers that lurked within the Pack Lands, the treachery of the Shadowscale clan, and the importance of not letting their guard down."Keep your distance from Seraphina," Eva warned, her voice firm. "I don't trust her, and neither should you. We can't afford to let our guard down, especially with someone who bears the mark of the Shadowscale."Millie and Eddie exchanged a hesitant glance, torn between their curiosity and Eva's warning. They respected their older sister's instincts, knowing that she had always been wise beyond her years."But what if Seraphina truly has changed? What i
