Eva was so out of breath when she reached the empty road. She took a moment to regain her breath and wiped the sweat from her forehead. She needed to get back to her father and see the twins. She could not stay here another moment.

Suddenly a big lorry sounded its horn, causing her to squeal as she jumped out of the way. She had been so lost in her thoughts that she did not even hear or see it at first.

The lorry stopped, and the driver stepped out of his cab; he was about forty-five years old with a beard and moustache. His dark green eyes gleamed as he came closer to her.

“Are you ok there, missy?” he called out to her. Eva was frightened but did not want to be rude, so she nodded and went.

“I am sorry, but you're out here on your own. Any reason why?” the man continued, and Eva realised that he would not go away anytime soon.

“I am just going home. I don't live far from here.” Eva explained but felt his big strong arms on her as she was lifted off the g

Tim was so pleased to see Eva return, but he was slightly confused about why she was rude towards her old friend from home. “Eva? Are you ok? Is there a problem?” He asked her, bringing her attention from Lara back to him. Eva took a deep breath, swallowed then smiled up at her father like it were nothing. “No, I’m just surprised. I mean, I can only guess that it’s Dan’s. Let me guess, and he’s here too?” Eva stated sarcastically and crossed her arms over her chest; she did not want to see either of them deal with their stupid, pointless dramas. She had a new life now. That did not include anyone who had hurt her in the past. Lara lowered her gaze and tried to avoid crying in front of everyone. “Can we just have a moment to talk alone, please, Eva?” Lara asked, reaching out for her hand, but Eva snatched it away instantly. She was scoffing at her ex-best friend in such disgust. Tim was amazed at how rude his daughter was but thought there was more to

“Who killed her?” Tim whispered out loud in disbelief. He hated the way that she had treated him and his children, but hearing that she had died still made him hurt for his twins. They had just lost their mother, just like Eva had. “Daddy, what did you say?” Millie went to her father and asked with wide eyes that made Tim want to burst into tears. Those poor twins. They were so innocent, so young and unaware of the world falling apart. “She’s dead,” Eddie said with a blank expression. This caused everyone to look his way in surprise. He had no tears in his eyes or emotion at all. It was as if he felt nothing. Did he understand what that meant? His mother was gone. They would never see her again. It was not until Sebastian stepped forward that they returned to their senses. “I will return to the pack and start arranging the funeral if you wish.” He said, holding a hand out to offer Tim his sincere sympathy, but Tim did not want it. He was gla

Sebastian paced the corridor outside the Alpha office and had finally had enough. He slammed his fists into the wall and growled furiously. Alpha Morgan opened the door and glared at his beta. “Someone in this pack has betrayed us. They have tricked us, and now that bitch is out there somewhere. She’s more powerful than I realised. We can’t have this. Unfortunately, I believe that if she has these twins together, it will enable her to do far worse damage.” “That dirty witch! Well, Eva will be here soon, and she will be safe. Leroy is en route to pick her up. I could not just bring her with me; her family needed her. These twins lost their mother..” Sebastian growled; he was so angry. “Except they have not lost their stupid mother, have they? She is a crazy lunatic witch that will do whatever she can to beat us. Whatever she is up to, we need to protect Tim and the twins and Eva. Tina is evil, pure evil. We cannot let this happen. Some of the warriors are already

Almost an hour had passed since Sebastian left the pack house, he knew that the alpha would be annoyed that he had gone like that, but he also knew that he would understand. Eva was his mate, and all he wanted was to protect her; he knew that Tina would be a threat all the while she was on the loose. He clenched his fists as anger once again ran through him. He would happily end her. She did not deserve to be alive for another minute after what she had done. Sebastian could only hope he would find them; he could not imagine how broken, poor Eva would be if anything happened to her little brother. There she was. Eddie was sitting across the table from her, looking very glum as he munched away on French Fries and a burger. Sebastian watched as Eddie picked up the Coke and took a long sip. Tina was saying something to him and had not noticed Sebastian staring at them outside. Eddie looked up and clapped eyes with Sebastian. He immediately turned awa

Eva looked at her father and felt like she would have a breakdown. It bought back so many memories of when her mum passed away. She did not want to lose her father as well. “Please get better. I, Eddie and Millie need you.” Eva whispered as she leaned over to hug him. He weakly hugged her back and nodded through his tears. Eddie stood on the sidelines watching nervously. He was so confused about why his mother was so horrible to them all. She was supposed to love them and care for them. She had almost killed him, and all he wanted was for everything to be ok. “Can I see Millie now, please?” Eddie suddenly asked, and Eva smiled down at her little brother. She stroked his face and knelt to his level so they were eye to eye. He was so young and innocent. Eva felt very protective towards him and Millie. She would make sure that nobody hurt them again. “Of course, you can. I will take you to her in a minute. Do you want to say goodbye to Dad, and th

Tina watched as Eddie was picked up and removed from her reach. There was nothing that she could do about it. As long as they believed that she was dead, it would give her time to get away. Tina knew leaving the twins was not what she wanted to do, but she promised herself it wouldn’t be forever. She would be back for her twins, and she would make sure that he and Eva would never see them again. Tina despised Eva. She felt this was all her fault because if she had never come around and ruined their happy lives, none of this would have happened. Tina would still have her twins, the big house and a fancy lifestyle. She turned away and saw the taxi waiting in the taxi rank. This was it. She would get away and make them think she was dead and then hit them right where it would hurt unexpectedly. “Where to ma’am?” The driver asked as Tina slammed the door shut and slipped across the backseats. She noticed the window was slightly open and immediately wound it up,

As the train pulled into the station, the sound of its wheels clattering against the tracks filled the air. Rain poured down from the sky, causing people to pull out their umbrellas and grumble to themselves. Tina noticed a young mother struggling to disembark the train with her buggy and large suitcase, while her older child danced around excitedly. Watching the family, Tina couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness as she thought about her own missing twins. She knew she had to find a way to get them back. Desperate for help, Tina approached the ticket man and asked if any hotels were nearby. The man gave her a rude shrug and left her alone in the rain. Tina frowned at his lack of help and cursed after him. The rain was getting heavier, and she was worried about where she would stay the night. She had just wanted to get away, but now she was far out of her comfort zone. She couldn't call home for help; everyone would think that she was dead by now, and she couldn't risk m

Sebastian nervously paced back and forth in the living room of the pack house. He had been working up the courage to ask Eva out on a date for weeks, but he just couldn't seem to find the right moment. Today, however, he had decided that he could wait no longer. He took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen, determined to find Eva and ask her out. As he walked down the hallway, Sebastian's heart began to race. He couldn't believe he was about to ask Eva out on a date. He finally spotted Eva in the dining room and made his way over to her. "Hey Eva," he said with a smile. Eva turned to face him, "Hey Sebastian, what's up?" Sebastian took another deep breath, "I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me sometime?" Eva looked surprised, but happy, "Sure, that sounds great!" Sebastian felt a wave of relief wash over him, "Awesome. How about we go to the new Italian restaurant in town tonight?" "Sounds perfect," Eva said with a smile.

After a few minutes of walking, Granny Agnes stopped in front of a large stone door. The door was adorned with intricate carvings and symbols similar to those on the tombs they had seen earlier."This is the entrance to the Lady's lair," Granny Agnes said, her voice low and serious. "We'll need to be careful. She's not going to give up without a fight."Ava nodded, her eyes locked on the door. "I'm ready," she said, her voice firm. “Twins?”Millie and Eddie nodded in agreement. “We are ready.” Granny Agnes smiled a hint of determination in her eyes. "Good. Let's get this over with."With a deep breath, Granny Agnes pushed the door open, revealing a dimly lit chamber filled with rows of ancient artefacts. The air was thick with the scent of old books and dust.Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a tall, gaunt woman with long silver hair and piercing green eyes. She was dressed in a flowing black gown, and her presence seemed to fill the room."Welcome back, children,"

As they walked through the passageway, the air grew thick with an eerie mist that seemed to cling to their skin. Eddie and Millie couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, and the humming noise had grown so loud that it was almost deafening. Ava led the way, her eyes fixed on some point ahead. They stumbled over roots and rocks, their hearts pounding with fear. Suddenly, Ava stopped dead in her tracks. "Wait," she whispered. "Do you see that?" Eddie and Millie followed her gaze, and their eyes widened in horror. Ahead of them lay a vast, dark chamber with rows of ancient tombs. The air was thick with the scent of decay and death, and the humming noise seemed to come from within the tombs themselves. "What is this place?" Millie whispered, her voice trembling with fear. Ava's eyes locked onto hers. "This is the Lady's tomb," she said. "And we have to get out of here before she awakens." Eddie and Millie exchanged a desperate glance. They knew they had to get out of

The Lady's eyes seemed to bore into Eddie's soul as she spoke, her words dripping with malice. "You are wrong, boy," she said. "I am your mother. And you are my children, my dears."Eddie felt a chill run down his spine as he stared at the Lady. He shook his head, trying to clear the fog from his mind. "No," he repeated. "You're not our mother. Our mother is dead."The Lady's expression turned cold, her eyes flashing with anger. "You don't know what you're talking about," she spat. "You don't know who I am or what I am capable of."Millie stepped forward, her eyes flashing with defiance. "We don't care who you are or what you're capable of," she said. "We're not going anywhere with you."The Lady's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, but you will," she said. "You will do as I say because I can make you."As she spoke, the air around them grew darker and more menacing. The trees seemed to loom closer, their branches reaching like skeletal fingers. "Hey!" he yelled out. "There you two are. We need to get out of here! Now!"The twins exchanged a glance, and without hesitation, they followed Jason back into the forest.“Where are we going, Jason?” Millie asked as she held her brother's hand and ran behind Jason. "We're going to the safe house," Jason replied, breathing heavily as he dodged low-hanging branches and leapt over roots. "We must get out of the woods before the pack tracks us down."The twins kept pace with Jason, their eyes scanning the surrounding trees for any signs of pursuit. As they ran, they could hear the distant sounds of battle growing fainter, replaced by the rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs. After a few minutes of running, the trees began to thin out, and they saw a small clearing in the distance. In the centre of the clearing stood a small cottage surrounded by a thick hedge of thorny bushes.Jason led them to the cottage, where they burst through the door and found themselves in a cosy, dimly lit

“Please. Give me a chance. I do not deserve it, but I want to correct my wrongs.” Seraphina continued to plead, and Alpha Duane scowled. He had had enough of her already. “Fine, prove yourself. One foot wrong, and you are to meet your end.” Alpha Duane insisted as he gestured for everyone to follow him. “Let's go.” Seraphina felt a rush of relief as the pack began to come together to form a plan to take down the Shadowscale and protect Alpha Duane and the children. Despite the betrayal and distrust that had clouded their relationships, they all knew that they needed to unite to overcome this dangerous threat. As they gathered in a circle, the weight of their mission hung heavy in the air. Seraphina spoke up. "We need to act quickly and decisively to outsmart the Shadowscale. They are powerful, but together we are stronger. We must devise a plan to protect Alpha Duane and this pack and the children at all costs." Jason nodded in agreement, his eyes reflecting his determina

As Seraphina sat in her cell, her expression hardened with anger and frustration. She knew that her time was running out, and she needed to find a way to explain her actions to the pack, especially to Jason. Of course, they would all be against her for getting their Alpha hurt. She thought that maybe if she could get him on her side and explain it so that he could stand by her side and protect her from the wrath, she would have no choice but to face it. Jason stood guard outside her cell, his features set in anger and sadness at the betrayal she had committed. Feeling a sense of desperation, Seraphina called out to Jason, her voice carrying a hint of vulnerability that was rarely seen from her. "Jason, there's something you need to know,” she said. “What is it, Seraphina? I don't have time for games,” Jason sighed, his voice tinged with impatience as he tried to mask the concern that flickered in his eyes. He had always been a man of action, and the situation's urgency left

The room was filled with sad worry as the pack members gathered around, anxiously awaiting any improvement in their Alpha's condition. She was impressed by their abilities, considering they were so young. Meanwhile, in the cells, Seraphina sat silently, her expression cold and devoid of remorse. What did you gain from it?” Eva yelled angrily as

Almost an hour had passed since Alpha Duane had left with Seraphina. Eva had settled the baby down and felt more at ease now Seraphina had gone. She didn't like the way she made her feel. As Eva made her way down the corridors and back out of the pack house, she bumped into someone she wasn't expecting to see. “Wait, what? Gabriel, how are you here? Eva turned to Sebastian, panic evident in her eyes. “It's Gabriel. He's back,” she said, her words stuttering as she tried to process the situation. “But Alpha Duane has gone with Seraphina to look for you. She said she knew you and wanted to help you,” Gabriel explained, taking a clumsy step back, almost losing his balance. Millie and Eddie watched with curiosity as Seraphina conversed with Alpha Duane and the rest of the pack. But the mysterious newcomer piqued their interest, her past and intentions shrouded in shadow.“There is something about her, I just cannot put my finger on it.” Millie whispered to her twin brother. As they observed from a distance, Eva approached her siblings with urgency in her eyes. She knew the dangers that lurked within the Pack Lands, the treachery of the Shadowscale clan, and the importance of not letting their guard down."Keep your distance from Seraphina," Eva warned, her voice firm. "I don't trust her, and neither should you. We can't afford to let our guard down, especially with someone who bears the mark of the Shadowscale."Millie and Eddie exchanged a hesitant glance, torn between their curiosity and Eva's warning.
