Four guards stood scattered throughout the basement, their faces obscured by masks and their postures rigid. It was a peculiar assembly, and Georgina couldn’t fathom their purpose here.

Turning to the new guard who had been silently trailing her since she left her room, Georgina couldn’t contain her curiosity any longer. She approached him cautiously, her voice tinged with unease.

“What is going on here?” she asked, her eyes locked on his. The guard remained inscrutable, his silence unnerving.

“You will find out soon enough,” he replied cryptically, his voice as enigmatic as his words. The tension in the basement was obvious, and Georgina had the distinct feeling that she was merely a pawn in a much larger, inscrutable game.
