Chapter 7 Haunt you in your sleep.

The woman didn’t apologize but continued making a scene.

People around them murmured about the situation.

“She really has the right to be mad.The man looks like a monster.”

“Keep your voice down.What if he’s a pervert or a murderer?I’ve seen a lot of news on TV that some people feel inferior because of their physical defects and eventually become cold blooded murderers.”

“I should really keep my voice down.I wouldn’t want him to hear me.”

Renee felt sad hearing those words even if they weren’t directed at her.

With how Dante’s scars looked,it seemed like he was in a fire incident.She felt it wasn’t his fault that he looks like this and shouldn’t be ridiculed and dehumanized like this.

People should be more mindful of their words.

Just as everyone continued murmuring,Renee shouted.

“Shut the hell up!”

The shout made the crowd go quiet in a second.

Her little fists were tightly clenched in anger.A trace of coldness rose in her eyes as she glared straight at the kid’s mother.

“Like I said,you should teach your kid how to behave in public and not go about bumping into people.And I’m warning everyone of you here,if you dare say any mean words about my fiancé one more time,you’ll see the other side of me!”

Perhaps shocked by her guts,no one said anything more,they all stared at her in in a daze.

“Now,I’m going to go see the CCTV and watch if my man had truly meant to harm your son in any way, if it turns out that your son really bumped into him and stained his suit,you’re going to pay for it.”

With that,Renee grabbed Dante’s hand and walked up to a staff in the store,inquiring to watch the video recording.

Dante didn’t say a work but he had a half-smile on his face.

He had never been protected by anyone like this in his life.He never knew being stood up for and protected by someone could feel so warm and refreshing.

His eyes became gentle and he kept staring at their interlocked hands.

Her hand were small,soft,warm and even sweaty at the moment.Her back was straight,like a pine tree never going to bend.

Dante could see that she was a bit nervous but she was determined on standing up for him.

Dante’s secretary,Max witnessed everything and wanted to come over to help but Dante waved his hand to him,secretly,indicating that he should not interfere.

Max shook his head,helplessly and guessed that his boss was enjoying his little fiancée’s protection.

Shouldn’t it be that a man should always be the protector?

It was amusing to see the roles being exchanged.

The CCTV footage showed that it was all the kid’s fault.

As soon as the crowd also watched the footage,they became silent.Afterall,Dante didn’t purposely try to scare the child,he was simply minding his own business when the child came onto him and he didn’t deserve the hurtful words he was told.

The mother rolled her eyes and thought of another excuse.

“Well,my child’s behavior should be excused because he’s just a child.Even if he didn’t mean to scare my child,your face is already enough to cause brain damage to…”

“Enough!I had really wanted to overlook this because he’s just a child but you keep insulting my man so you must pay for the suit.”

“How much can the shitty suit possibly cost!You think I don’t know your kind of people?You must be badly in need of money.”The woman sneered.”Give me the price tag and I’ll pay you half of the price.My husband works in a company for your information!”

Hearing her boastful remarks,Renee smiled,mischievously.

She turned to face Dante and stretched out her small hand to him.

“Tell your secretary to send the tag.We can’t easily let this go.”

Dante stared at her beautiful face,her cheeks were rosy with excitement.

At that moment,it was like standing up for him was making her happy.

No one could really bully her fiancé under her watch!

Dante put his hand in hers and held it tightly.

Renee shuffled and tried to pull back but he didn’t let go of her.

She blushed and her reddish cheeks got even redder.

“What are you doing?I mean give me the tag not your hand.”

“I like you calling me ‘My man’.Keep doing so in the future.”Dante smiled at her,affectionately.

He realized that she really was the perfect woman for him and he was determined to spend the rest of his life with her.

He would never let her go.

Renee looked into his deep eyes,only feeling that they were like deep waters.She could not see clearly what sort of emotions were there but she didn’t dare to stare at them for long.

She felt as if she was naked under his aggressive eyesight.She looked away but let him hold her hand.

Max had already prepared the price tag.This suit was the work of the famous Italian designer Lyon who never puts a tag on this design because he hated to price his works.But Max had asked Lyon for help so he gave him an estimated price.

Renee was stunned when she saw the estimated price.She counted the zeros several times and finally made sure that the lowest price of this suit was 10 million euros.

If the woman wanted to pay half the price,then that was 5 million euros.

When the woman saw the price,she was totally dumbfounded and speechless.

And when she finally found her voice,she started to yell that this was a fraud.

Renee wanted to argue with her but Dante stopped her.

“Leave it to Max.He’ll take care of this.”And then he took off his suit jacket and threw it to Max.

After that,he led Renee up to his car.

Renee got nervous when he closed the door.

“Where…where are we going?”

“You were having a nice time with your cake before it was interrupted.Let me take you somewhere else.”He said and then drove off.

He drove her to a Japanese restaurant.

As they walked up to the door of the restaurant,Renee felt people would stare and say harsh words about him again so she held his hand for support.

Dante glanced down at her and knew why she had held him.He felt warmed by her action.

“Do you perhaps feel sorry for me?”He beamed a gentle smile at her and the smile diluted the horrible feeling of his disfigured half face,making him look soft and mild.

If Dante hadn’t been disfigured,his appearance would have looked dazzling and charming.

She blushed and felt somewhat uneasy.

She tried to assure herself that she was only worried about him because they were engaged.

And as such,they should support each other.

So there was no way she could watch him get bullied.

She pouted and denied.

“I don’t.I just feel people do not have the right to condemn how you look.”

He smiled and then tightened his hold on her.

“Come.This restaurant is one of my family’s establishment.”

Renee felt relieved hearing that.At least, the staff here would make sure he was comfortable.

Dante was like a vampire,who could not be exposed under the sun,otherwise,he would be shattered by rumors.

She realized now that he must have gone through a lot of dehumanizing and sad moments in his life.

He must have felt lonely and depressed.

She walked behind him,looking at his back and felt as if Dante was a vulnerable little boy.

She made up her mind not to let anyone ridicule him anymore.

“By the way,what would you have done if those people kept on insulting me even after watching that footage?”Dante asked,playfully.

Renee raised her eyebrows and replied.”I would have fought with them.”

Dante laughed.”Would you have won?”

“Even if I don’t win.I’ll try my best.I will never watch you being talked down on.Don’t worry,you don’t have to face those kind of people alone anymore.”

Dante stopped walking suddenly in front of her and she bumped against him.

“What?”She asked,moving back a bit.

“Do you realize that you just made a promise to me?”

“What promise?”She asked,confused.

“That you’ll stay with me forever so don’t you dare abandon me or I’ll haunt you in your sleep.”
