Chapter 10 The pain.

The servants could not believe their ears.

Dante’s woman had tried to seduce his nephew?!

One of them quickly rushed to inform Dante and Gustavo about it.

While the others assisted Renee to the house and placed her on the couch.

Renee laid on the couch,weak and pale.She had gotten kicked on the back and slapped on the cheek.Not to talk of the hard way he had pushed her to the ground.

As Dante descended the stairs,he froze seeing her in such a condition.

And then he hurried up to the couch.

Gustavo drew his white eyebrows together and hit his cane hard on the floor.

“What happened?Who did this to the girl?!”

Fabiano stepped forward and tried to be as convincing as possible.

“Grandpa,this maid tried to seduce me in the greenhouse.You know I do not fancy people like her and getting involved with lowlives is not acceptable by you so I had to teach her a lesson so she’d know her place.”

Gustavo stared at his grandson,squarely.

He had heard a rumor about how Fabiano always forces himself on the servants.

Since he didn’t have any concrete evidence,he couldn’t approach him about it and he felt it might be untrue.

But now,he had a feeling Fabiano was lying.

Before he could speak,Dante thundered.

“You said she seduced you?!”His voice was filled with anger.

Fabiano swallowed.

Everyone has always been afraid of Dante’s temper.

But he had to stick to his lie.

“Yes,she seduced me.You should know women like her kind very well,she would have plotted to have sex with me and then trap me with a child.She is a typical gold digger.”

Renee wanted to argue,to defend herself but she felt too weak to speak and she could only glare at him.

Tears filled in her eyes?

Would Dante believe his nephew?

She raised her hand with great effort and held Dante’s hand.

Dante immediately bent down to stare at her.

He could see the pain and sadness in her eyes and he could instantly tell that she had been wronged.

He quickly carried her into his arms and asked the maids to get the family doctor.

Fabiano was stunned seeing the girl in Dante’s arms.

Was there anything special about this maid?

“What are you doing,Uncle?She’s just a maid.”

Dante shot him a glare.”I’ll deal with you later.”And then he walked off with Renee in his arms.

Fabiano was perplexed.”What’s wrong with him?Had the maid already succeed in seducing him as well?”

Gustavo angrily hit with his cane.

Fabiano knelt on the floor,holding his leg.

“Grandpa,what…”

“Shut up!How dare you mess with the one thing Dante has come to care about?!She’s his fiancée and for your information,he already considers her his wife!If you had really tried to mess with her,you’ll be in a big trouble!”

Fabiano was struck dumb with astonishment.

She wasn’t a maid?!

But his cruel uncle’s fiancée?!

His father had mentioned their engagement to him before but he didn’t really listen,attentively.

He already concluded that the woman would run away from Dante as the rest had always done.

But his uncle had really found someone willing to stick by his side.

And she wasn’t just anyone,he recalled how Renee had looked in the greenhouse before he approached her,she was beautiful and lovely.

A pure kind of beauty.

A beauty that one would like to unfold.

Fabiano didn’t only feel fear right now,but he was also jealous.

The family doctor had arrived and was tending to Renee.

She had an injury on her cheek,which had affected her left eardrum,causing the eardrum to be temporarily hurt.She would have problem hearing for a short while but it wasn’t too serious and she would get healed up soon.

Her neck was also red from when Fabiano had tried to strangle her.

After she was treated,she still looked so pale.The doctor noticed that she had been uncomfortable and so speculated that she had a back injury.

After checking,the doctor found a large bruise and soft tissue damage in many places.

Dante stood there,silently inspecting the pain his nephew had inflicted on her.

If she didn’t run away despite his scars,he couldn’t blame her if she runs away because of this.

He felt this was too much on her.She didn’t deserve any of this.

His eyes turned reddened and he rushed downstairs.

As soon as Fabiano saw him,he tried to run off,as he rushed towards the door, Dante ran towards him and kicked him hard on the back.

“Dante…uncle…please…”

Dragging him up to his feet,Dante punched him on his face and Fabiano fell on the floor.

He tackled him to the floor,punching him repeatedly until Fabiano’s face bled.

“Please uncle…I’m begging you.Please stop!I’m sorry.I will never do anything like that again…”Fabiano spat out blood.”Are you going to kill me over some woman you just met?It’s not worth it.”

“Not worth it?”

For years,he had thought he couldn’t be moved by anyone.He had felt he had lost his purpose in life and would only spend the rest of his life making people fear him.

But that little girl touched him.

She brought warmth to his life and he wanted to keep her by his side forever.

But this stupid fool had the nerves to hurt her.

His eyes clouded in ruthlessness.

Gustavo knowing how his son gets when he’s upset quickly intervened.

“Dante,that’s enough.You’ve bloodied his face and at this rate,you might kill him.He is your brother’s only child!”Gustavo reminded,frantically.
