Jasmine stood in front of the mirror in her bedroom while putting on the last touches of her makeup. Her heart fluttered with excitement because Sarah had invited her to some party, a thing she hadn't expected. She didn't know Sarah that well, but that invitation made her special, something that hadn't happened in quite a while. This was all she needed to take her sister's condescending attitude off her mind for at least a few hours since things were getting tenser between them.

As Jasmine slid into her dress, she caught her reflection-a bright smile overspreading her face, a sleek black dress hugging her figure to perfection-well, for the first time in a while, genuinely excited; this perhaps was something new, a fresh chance to be out of the constant comparison to Jayla. Finally, here was something that was hers.

She snatched up her heels and took the stairs down; her heels lightly clicked against the wood floor. Down the stairs, Jayla stood at the bottom by the living room; Jayla's

The sound of the Screeching tires fell backward onto the curb, Jasmine heart raced in her chest as she could still feel the whoosh of air as the car whizzed past her, missing her by inches. The world blurred around her while her legs began to quake, her adrenaline surging through her veins. It was ghostly silent for just an instant: the city, the soft hum of the night, and the juddering beat of her heart. Jasmine gasped in short breaths as she surveyed what had just happened. Had that car been aiming at her? The lights had seemed to lock right onto her; it was too much of an intended act to have been some sort of accident. Her heart pounded, her hands shaking, clutching her purse tightFrazzledst her chest. Her mind fluttered back, earlier, right before she'd left the house. The tone was icy, almost calculated, with harsh words that still seemed to ring in her ears. And the way she had looked at her-may it be? Was Jayla responsible for that? Is my sister trying to hurt me? Th

It was as if this anonymous message unravelled wittily from her phone while shaking her hand: "I know what you're planning party you are not as clever as you think you're." The words danced before her in a juggling of taunts that dared every shred of control she thought she had over this twisted game. In that one millisecond, the mantle of power that had cloaked her in the bar with Axel slipped away and she was exposed-prey under the considering eye of a hunter. She willed her breathing to steady, reminded herself who she was. Whoever this was, it was his attempt at shaking her, wanted her to falter, to show weakness. Well, she wasn't about to give them that satisfaction. Taking a deep breath, Sarah steadied herself and rubbed out that knot in her chest where the anger and fear were gathering. She'd face that ladanceor now, she had a plan to run with Axel-one that would pit the trithisagainst each other with such ferocity they would never recover. Back at the Mansion Jasmine

Jasmine spent the evening alone in her room, the walls looming ominously over her as if to fall in at any moment and bury her under them. She couldn't get over that scene with Jayla and replayed it over and over in her mind, each word sharper and more cutting than the one before. Her sister's teasing, the smugness with which she dismissed Jasmine's accusations regarding what happened with the car-all these things set her skin crawling. How long had Jayla harboured this kind of malice toward her? Had she been waiting onthe time for the perfect moment to strike? She paced across the room even now and then to glance at hera reflection in the mirror. Shadows circled her eyes, a testament to the sleepless nights she had been pulling lately. Her sister tried to hurt her-no, she knew it. That "accident" just could not have been a coincidence. Jasmine stormed into her room slamming the door behind her. Her breathing was shallow, her hands shaking while holding the note in her death grip. Moving around the room several times, until finally her heart stopped hammering in her chest while her mind was aflame with the words on the paper: "One more step, and you won almost." Her throat was parched, and the thoughts initiated a mad race in her head. Every single encounter that she had had with Jayla replayed itself in her brain like a record with a scratch. Jayla's vibes, the smug expressions, the way it seemed she relished in Jasmine's torment that now made sense. That near miss with the car had not been an accident but deliberate. She had been trying to scare her and keep her away from the house. Why? Is it about Axel?" Jasmine muttered, words jumbled over as quick pacing took over. "She doesn't want me near him… but this? This is too far. She stood dead still, staring into the mirror, her eyes foreign to her own as if

Jasmine stared out of her bedroom window, her pale skin bathed in the soft, silver light of the moon. Axel's words played once more in her head, fanning those glowing embers of ambition inside of her. She had been keeping quiet for far too long, playing nice guys to Jayla and Jasmine, at each other's throats over Axel and everything else from girls' high school track to current weight. But now, the time was close. She smirked again with the thought of Axel reassuring her. He was in on her plan-or so he thought. The little accident with Jasmine had gone off without a hitch, just enough to scare her but not hurt her. Axel was perfect in carrying that part out. Still, Jade knew better than to trust him fully. He was playing some kind of game, and she was going to kno every move he made. She approached her desk, hugging open the drawer in which her small notebook lay in waiting. She flipped through the pages of the notes she had taken-it felt like forever-she wrote down each and every

Axel sat at his kitchen table, sipping his coffee, a sly smirk playing on his lips as he thought about the chaos he had orchestrated the night before. Jasmine's near accident was the perfect touch-just enough to rattle her while keeping his involvement below the radar. Paranoia growing between Jayla and Jasmine was just delicious to watch-they were spiraling, and he hadn't even fully pushed them. He reached for his phone and scrolled down the messages from Sarah late last night. Message from Sarah: "What next? I need them completely broken." Axel chuckled low in his throat, genuinely amused. Hobeforerah was so needy, so desperate to cut the sisters asunder. She thinks that she's thought. Wasting around here, pulling the strings, but little does she know, she is just where he wants her to be. Then, of course, there was Jade-ah, Jade-so calculated and controlled, yet blind to how she was no more than another of Axel's pieces. Two birds, one stone," Axel whispered to himself as

Axel sat in the darkened bar, neon lights dancing subtly across his sharp features. A half-finished glass of whiskey was set before him, but his eyes had moved to another place, Sarah, who'd just slid into the seat across from him. A black coat fell over her shoulder, her eyes cut like glass, sharpened and focused.“You’re late,” Axel remarked, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. He swirled the amber liquid in his glass, keeping his tone casual, but his sharp green eyes betrayed the wheels turning in his mind."Don't even get me started," Sarah snapped, flinging off her coat as she sling it over the back of her chair. She leaned in, tense-her eyes ablaze with frustration and determination in their purest forms. "We need to take it to the next level, Axel. Jasmine's a mess, and Jayla's too full of herself to see what's coming. But that's just not enough. I need more chaos. I need them destroyed."Axel's face showed mock surprise; an eyebrow quivered upwards. "Destroyed? Th

Axel sat frozen in the driver's seat, his sharp features bathed by the screen of his phone as he reread the ominous text. Gone was the smirk; now his lips pursed into a tight frown. In that instant, the fe vanished into the night, leaving Axel stewing in his thoughts. Who did her this? Was it Sarah, playing a deeper game than he had anticipated? Or was it someone else, someone he hadn't accounted for? His fingers gripped the steering wheel as his pulse quickened. The text—the figure’s words—were still ringing in his head. "You’re not the only one playing this game, Axel. Watch your back." The angry sigh drew slowly, then huffingly out from his pursed lips; the white-knuckled fingers in contact with the wheel relaxed for this to be possible. That calmed him. Whoever it was, he needed to break him loose, scramble him enough, rattle his cage. Now he needed to keep straight-as. A war was on inside, yet Axel kept his head. Turning toward the window of his car, he peered through tangle

Jasmine gave her a quick glance. "You okay?" Audrey nodded but winced her hands. Jayla sighed deeply. "You should have mentioned it when he called." Audrey gazed down. "I thought I could handle it." Jade snorted. "Not with Axel. He doesn't listen to no." Jasmine stood by the window, narrowed eyes intently focused as she gazed out. Then she froze. Outside, in front of the window, on the street, a black car. A dark figure in the car. Watching. Waiting. Her heart was pounding. He was here. She spun to her sisters, low voice, resolute. "He's outside." Audrey's eyes widened. "What?" Jayla leaped to the window to look out. Jade cursed under her breath. "That psycho." Jasmine breathed slowly, deeply, attempting to soothe herself. She wasn't scared. She was angry. Axel had done enough already. Sarah was d

The Final Stand – Axel's Last Gamble Audrey was on her couch in her apartment, frowning at her phone, the screen lighting up with an unknown number. Her gut clenched. She knew who it was. The second it started ringing she knew. A shiver ran down her spine, her heart racing. Axel. He was calling her. She swallowed hard, her fists tight. She had blocked him. Had changed her routine. Had tried to close him out of her life. And yet. He'd somehow come back anyway. The ringing stopped. A voicemail message showed up. She was breathing irregularly as she hit play. And then his voice was smooth and even, weighted with something sinfully wicked bouncing off of the walls. "Audrey he said, did you really think I'd let you go that easily?" Her blood went cold. "We both know you still think of me. Of us." Her fists clenched on the phone. No. No, she didn't. She wouldn't. She couldn't. "I gave you your space. I let you pretend. But it's time to come home, sweetheart." Audre

The Fall of a Legacy – Their Father Is Brought to Account Their father slumped in the interrogation room, the stark metal table between him and the detectives. For the first time in his life, he was not in charge. His expensive attorneys weren't going to get him out of this today. His influence, his name, his power—it meant nothing now. The seasoned detective dropped a file onto the desk, reopening it. Pictures. Documents. DNA tests. It all lay before him. "You drew up official papers," the detective said, his own voice tightly controlled. "You drew up fake papers and left your firstborn daughter to live and live comfortably. His father's jaw clenched. The detective continued, "And because of that, Sarah spent her entire life believing she wasn't wanted." A bitter silence. "And now she's dead." For a moment—a fleeting moment—something passed through his father's eyes. Regret? Guilt? Maybe. But too little, too late. The detective leaned in.

Their mother sat opposite them, her fists clenched on the armrests of the chair while her face was set in stiff lines. Jasmine took a deep breath. "Mom… we've got something to say." Jayla leaned forward. "Something about Dad." Jade sighed. "And Sarah." Her mother's eyebrows jerked with horror when she said the name Sarah. "What about her?" Jasmine's voice was constricted, but she fought to say something. "She was our sister." Their mother's breath stalled. Her hand gripped the chair as her knuckles turned white. No one uttered a word for a second. Then, in a whisper just above a murmur— "What did you just say?" Jayla swallowed hard. "Sarah… she was Dad's daughter." Jade paused before saying again, "His first daughter." Their mother turned white. "That's not… that's not possible." Jasmine pulled out the pro

The Aftermath – Shadows of the Past The triplets sat in silence, the weight of the news pressing down on them. Sarah was dead. And even after everything she had done. Even after the lies, the betrayals, the destruction It didn’t feel like a victory. Jade let out a slow breath, staring at the floor. “I thought I’d feel… relieved.” Jayla shook her head, her voice quieter than usual. “Me too.” Jasmine's clutch on her cup of coffee spasmed. "She was our sister." Jayla grumbled unwillingly. "Half-sister." Jasmine shut her eyes. "It doesn't matter." For in the end, Sarah had been as lost as they had once been. The difference? She never had her way back. Fraser and Tressa – A New Beginning, or a New Threat? Tressa turned a lock of hair around her finger, watching out the apartment window. "She's really gone," she murmured. Fraser, who stood behind her, let out a deep sigh. "Yeah." Tressa’s chest tightened. Sarah had been many things—an enemy, a rival, a storm in human form.

Fraser breathed slowly. "Part of me did, yes. But that moment I just saw her?"

His reputation, so carefully built, was ruined. And now? Now, he was nothing. A shadow of his former self and suddenly there was a knock on the door. It resounded through the stillness. Axel growled, running a hand through his messed-up hair. He wasn't really in the mood for visitors. And if it was some bill collector or worse—some woman from his other life who'd come to collect from him for what he'd done— He wasn't in the mood. He rose slowly, dragging himself to the door. When he opened it— His blood ran cold. Standing in the hall, smiling like they owned the place, were Jasmine, Jayla, Jade— And Tressa. Axel's gut clenched. "What in the devil are you doing here?" He was curt, rough-voiced. Jayla stood in the doorway, arms crossed. "Wow. You're such an ugly person." Jade

The Pull of the Past – Audrey's Weak Moment Audrey's breath was shaking as she clutched the phone held against her ear. Axel's voice was harsh, deep—altered. "Audrey… don't hang up." She should. She should hang up, push him away, and be done with it. But something in the manner of him speaking her name— Something in the urgency in his tone— Freeze her in mid-air. "Why are you calling me, Axel?" Her voice softer than she'd meant. A breath of silence. Then, a stuttering, nervous breath on the other line. "I just… I wanted to hear you." Audrey swallowed, her heart beating too hard, too fast. "Axel, we—" She closed her eyes. "We're over." A gasp of shock. Then, his voice—soft now. "Are we?" Audrey's stomach plummeted. The hurt, in the beginning, had been unbearable. The nights she'd lain awake, reaching for her "phone, only to recall that she'd deleted his number. Now, the pain was starting to feel different. Not gone. Never forgotten. But less heavy. Like a weight that she was learning to carry slowly. She took out her phone, reading through messages from the triplets. They'd been calling to check in on her. So had Tressa. That still wasn't sitting well. She had every right to hat
