Sapphire’s pov

"Who am I?" I repeated, a hint of amusement dancing on my lips. "Well, that's a question most people spend their whole lives trying to figure out. But I knew exactly who I was."

Dimitri's intense stare seemed to have left me momentarily stunned, but I quickly regained my composure. "What are you talking about?" I asked, confusion etched on my face.

Dimitri's voice rose, his tone firm and commanding. "You heard me! Who are you?"

I stood taller, a spark of annoyance igniting within me. "I'm Sapphire, Alpha Ragnar's eldest daughter and soon-to-be alpha," I declared proudly. "In case we haven't officially met, I'm your sister-in-law."

Dimitri's expression turned unreadable, his eyes glazing over as if lost in thought. He stood there, frozen, his silence deafening.

I took a step forward, my voice firm. "Please, before I inform my father of your arrival, you'd best tell me why you're here."

The silence between us stretched out, thick and heavy, until I finally broke it. "Ehm

Dimitri’s pov As I settled into my carriage, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Sapphire was more than just a coincidence. I gazed out the window, lost in thought, as the footman closed the door behind me."Your Majesty," the footman said, his voice low and respectful. "Shall I instruct the driver to take the usual route back to the palace?"I nodded absently, my mind still preoccupied with Sapphire. "Yes, yes. Take the usual route."The footman bowed and turned to leave, but I called out to him. "Wait."He turned back to face me, his expression curious. "Yes, Your Majesty?"I hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Do you know anything about the Ragnar family's history? Specifically, about their daughter Sapphire?"The footman's expression turned guarded, and he glanced around nervously before responding. "I don't know much, Your Majesty. But I do know that the Ragnar family has been...different. Some folks say they're cursed, others say they're blessed. But one thing's for sure

After a quick breakfast, I gathered my things, ready to head out to the village for some work that needed my attention. Just as I reached the door, my father called out to me, his voice echoing with authority.“Is everything okay, Father?” I asked, halting mid-step, my heart racing slightly at the unexpected interruption.“I have some matters to discuss with your sister,” he replied, his tone serious. “So why don’t you take Dimitri for your morning patrol?”My stomach churned at the mention of his name. “Uhm, Father, I’m sure the Lycan King won’t want to see some villagers,” I protested, trying to mask the rising panic within me.But before I could finish my thought, Dimitri’s voice cut through the air, smooth and confident. “No, I would actually love to come.”I felt heat rush to my cheeks, a mix of frustration and embar

Sapphires povDimitri leaned against the counter, a smirk playing on his lips as he took another gulp of water. “You know I’m the lycan king, right? I could smell you from a mile away.” His gaze remained fixed on the cup, not even bothering to look in my direction. My heart raced at his words—how did he know? When did he realize? With a resigned sigh, I stepped out from behind the door, feeling the weight of his presence.“If you knew I was there, then why didn’t you say so sooner? You had to make me feel dumb?” I shot back, my voice laced with a playful cunning as I approached him.“Cause I liked how cute you think you can hide from me.” Really? I raised an eyebrow, intrigued, as I closed the distance between us, stopping just inches away. I could feel his heartbeat, the intoxicating scent of him filling the air. Sapphire’s povAs I lay in bed, reflecting on the past few days, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. The coronation ceremony had been a resounding success, and the pack had welcomed me with open arms. I had slipped into the role of alpha with ease, and the respect of my pack members was palpable. However, my father had been a different story altogether. He had been distant, almost detached, and I couldn't help but wonder if it was because he was struggling to let go of the reins. I pushed the thought aside, hoping that with time, he would come to terms with the new dynamics.Just as I was starting to drift off to sleep, a soft knock at the door broke the silence. "Yes?" I called out, wondering who could be visiting at such a late hour."It's me, Sapphire," my father's voice replied from the other side of the door.
