Dale Daniel’s POV
Since my father passed away, I thought no one could change me ever again but Zyah proved me wrong. In the battle between me and myself, maybe it was her who was the one I was waiting for to win the war on my battlefield. She is like a ray of sunshine to my gloomy mornings. As her smiles reflected on my eyes, she gradually taught me to learn to wear my smile too.
You were the glimpse of fantasy in my reality, Zyah.
I was comfortably sitting on my office chair when my gaze caught the black notebook on my table. This simple notebook means a lot to me. This is where I wrote all of the messages that Zyah sent to me when I was in America. I reached it with my hand and opened it. I started reading some of the phrases I wrote.
Clarriese Zyah’s POVI felt a severe pain when I tried to move my body. I gently rubbed my forehead and slowly opened my eyes. What welcomed me is the solid misty gove colored ambiance. The fear subsided when I realized that I am at Dale's home. This place is familiar to me because I’ve been here before. He brought me here when I was sick. And now, I am here again, still sick.I slowly removed the blanket covering me and was about to move when I suddenly felt pain from my ankle. I pushed the blanket away from my body and checked on my ankle then. It already has a bandage. I wonder who made it. My eyes explored my body and I wasn't really dreaming. My clothes were changed into pink pajamas. How come I am wearing this? Where did this come from? When I rose from the
Clarriese Zyah’s POVA week after, I felt better now. Honestly, to rest for a week but Dale insisted and took a one week leave for me. I persuaded him but I never won. He was first with his decision. I didn’t argue with him because I know that he only wants the best for me.“Oh no, Ms. Zyah!” Fatty exclaimed when I told her what happened to me when I came back to work. “That’s not really the place you should go!”“Fatty, don’t blame yourself.” I tried to calm her down. I leave a gentle pat on her shoulder. “It was my fault. I didn’t read the paper you gave me first. I must have misplaced it and taken something else.”She was hesitant
Clarriese Zyah’s POV“Zy!” I heard Dwight call me when I reached Light Way Park. “Here!” she waved her hand to get my attention. She was seated on a bench under a huge tree. From here, we could have a full glimpse of the park.A lot of kids are wandering around the park. Some couples were also spotted. How sweet they are! It’s already 9 in the morning but the sun rays were not that strong. I love the weather, it's good.I went in her direction. I am holding a milk tea in both of my hands. When I was seated next to her, I passed her the other one. Today, we agreed to meet here. Since we are both busy with our lives, even just 20-30 minutes of conversation is fine with u
Dale Daniel's POVI was browsing the pages of Inkwell's Magazine Monthly Edition when I heard someone knock on the door. When it opened, a woman holding an undeniable elegance came in from that opened door. A pearl square peplum black collarless jacket and a spandex semi bootcut slacks. She screamed with confidence."You're late, woman." I welcomed her with intense stares. "Are you abusing your freedom because the owner of the company is your boyfriend?"She paused and questioned me with her confused yet anxious gaze. She tried her best to let out a phrase but rather than voicing out her side, she bowed down her head.I left my seat and headed in her direction, slowly. "Where have you been?" I asked, a h
Clarriese Zyah's POVI put down the phone after I ended my conversation with Dale. After talking to him, I felt somehow better. Now, I am facing the computer's monitor right now, ready to publish our Inkwell's release at Dreammy Pen's website. I let out a deep breath and calmed myself. This is the job that Rosaline entrusted me to do. Maybe, wherever she is right now, she is waiting for me to publish these articles. Dale and the whole Inkwell organization trusted me on this job, I couldn't let them down.I formed a fist, gathering courage before I clicked the post button at the left side of the webpage. This is it! This is the first project of Inkwell that I am the Managing Editor. This is also the first time that I've got my article published on our website. I feel bl
Clarriese Zyah's POVMy mom and dad were very worried about my situation. They told me they couldn't think well because they are anxious about my situation. I assured them not to worry about me because I can handle myself. Besides, I am not alone in this matter. Even though such a thing happened, I know within my heart that J won't give up on my job. What just happened was indeed a traumatic experience but it's always been part of my journey as a journalist. The moment I take this path, it's inevitable. I just didn't expect that it would come sooner. I am just new at Dreammy Pen. It still isn't a year yet. I was only a few months here but I already brought a lot of trouble to the company. I couldn't help but feel guilty. I couldn't blame anyone but myself. Although it may sound odd, I think I could only bring bad luck to the company. I am putting Dale's career at risk. I couldn't bear seeing him carrying the burden and pressure
Clarriese Zyah's POV"Hey! Wake up!" I uttered in a loud tone, deliberately disturbing his sleep. It was already 6:30 in the morning but he was still lying on the bed. He is an early bird. He usually got up at 5. "Come one, lalaki!" I pulled his hand, forcing him to rise up. "We are going somewhere!"I just stared at him while he slowly opened his eyes, recovering from his sleep. So, this is how he looks when he got up every morning. He just woke up but still looked so fine, handsome. His gestures rubbing his eyes appeared adorable to me. He looked like a child sulking because his sleep was disturbed.I am sorry, Dale. I just really need to do this. It is still for you."Fix yourself first," I said and was abo
Dale Daniel's POVI woke up hearing her laughter from the kitchen. They are preparing the food, I guess. From my bed, I could see the outside surroundings, the endless glimpse of the deep blue ocean. Titter swept up through my features when I thought back of the moment I fixed my lips on her as the sun witnessed my feelings for her before the twilight enclosed us.Upon our stay here at this small house that carries a traditional vibe, it felt quite palliative here. I absolutely got a comfy sleep and felt my heart gradually feelin', yeah, alright. I am not that mad like how I used to feel before. There's still pain but it is not that heavy anymore. Ledger was my half-brother and that's a fact. No matter how mad I become, it could not change that truth. The moment I saw my mother again, I was furious. Maybe, even though I denied it, I

Dale Daniel hurried to go home. He couldn't resist his excitement to see his wife after such a tiring day."Manang Lydia, where are my ladies?" he asked when he entered the house."Sir, you are looking for Ma'am Zyah? Aren't you two together?" Manang Lydia replied. "I didn't see them around."Dale wondered where they were. His wife sent him a message that they are home but Manang Lydia says differently. He decided to look for them upstairs."Wife? Dhyrine?" He called but he heard nothing from them. He opened the door of their room but no one was there. He went down again, still calling his wife and daughter.
Clarriese Zyah's POVNow that Dale is now in front of me, I couldn't search for any words to utter. I was dumbfounded and lost my speech. My heart was beating loudly that it may come out of my chest at any moment. My rapid heart beats hindered me from letting out a word.I never thought this moment would happen. I am not prepared for this. I couldn't even bring myself to meet his gaze. Even if I wanted to, I just couldn't do it. For now, looking at him directly in his eyes was the most difficult thing to do."Ah? I need to accompany her," I said, intentionally avoiding him. I hurriedly went to Delia's direction and sat next to her."Enjoying the view?" I wrote on the piece of paper I was holding. I felt my palms sweating and my hands shaking. I am in a deep panic and don't know how to calm myself down. When I handed the paper to her, she turned and gave me a "thumbs up" accompanied with a bright, wide smile.I write s
Dale Daniel's POV"Something bad happened to Zyah.""What?!" I asked but I've got no response. The other line went quiet. When I checked my phone, it turned out that the call had already ended. I tried calling him again but he is out of coverage already."Sir Dale!" I heard someone call me.When I lifted up my head, I saw him, my driver. He was already standing beside the car, waiting for me. When I got nearer he helped me to put my luggage in the trunk."Manong? I need to go somewhere. Can you just take a cab to go back to the house?"He nodded and smiled. "Sure, sir Dale. No problem."I gave him money for his fare. I immediately started the engine of the car when I got on. I couldn't afford to miss another minute. I tried calling Zyah's phone but this time it's unavailable. The fear began to stir inside my chest. I wonder what happened to her. If that's how Dwight and Ellaine reacted, then something big really happened.
Clarriese Zyah's POVMy hands were trembling as I continued to check on the papers from the envelope I found in dad's things. I couldn't be more terrified. If I'm right with my thoughts then, who is this man? Is he really my dad? But he has the same appearance as my father!I am confused. My mind went messy. When I heard someone open the door, I immediately went down. I gathered myself together. I need to know the truth."Baby, we are home!" I heard my mom announce. When I faced both of them, I couldn't search for a word to utter. I lost my speech. I have a lot of thoughts in my mind but when I opened my mouth, I didn't know what to say first. I felt like my head was going to explode anytime soon. I felt like something was fighting in my head that was getting more and more disturbing. It's a very difficult fight. It was terrible.I felt like going crazy."Zy, are you okay?" My father asked and tried to touch my hand but intentionally
Dale Daniel's POVMisty road, chaotic mind, aching heart.I stepped on gas and sped up my car despite being unsure what lies ahead on the road. I am not drunk. I am just out of my mind trying to get rid of the pain devouring my heart.Due to the thick fog around, I didn't notice the lady who crossed the road. That happened before I could even stop the car. I felt like I was sweating even it's a frigid morning. With my hands shaking, I opened my car's door. I walked towards her with unsteady feet. I felt my whole body trembling.Lying down, unconscious. Her white dress was stained with her own blood.Dreadfully nervous, I went closer to her. Too anxious to see her condition. Fear enveloped my system, nearly shutting down my heart and made me breathless. Oh no. What should I do? Is she dead? When her face became apparent to my vision, my entire world collapsed. I suddenly fell down helplessly. I began crying out her name, begging her to
Clarriese Zyah's POVDay after I went to Dreammy Pen HQ, I processed my papers for going to the Philippines. I am worried about Lola. Maybe it's now time to face all of them.No one could ever escape from the truth. Fate won't be an exception for me. I couldn't picture in my mind how I am going to face my father but I know I could stand it somehow. I already had a lot of time running away. I've been away with the thought of healing myself. But I know within me how I missed my family and friends. I can only be genuinely happy when I am with them. What's the point of being afraid to go back when they are all waiting for me?When my plane landed at NAIA, I stepped down with excitement bubbling in my heart. Nothing beats the feeling of being in your homeland. I could smile with relief. It is true that the Philippines is indeed for the Pilipinos. Am I right? That's what I am thinking right now."Zyah!" I heard my name
Clarriese Zyah's POVI am bothered by what Mr. Scott told me. Every word he said made sense and made me believe that it was really him. I didn't waste any seconds and looked for my laptop. I found myself typing on the keyboard the name of their website. I was discouraged when I found out that it has been quiet for many days already. The featured journalists and writers on their page are more than 10 only. They were about a hundred the last time I visited their page. That Mr. Scott, whoever he is, isn't lying. The Inkwell really is in a dilemma. It seems that they indeed need my help.I continued browsing on their website. Until I found a content that shows Dale was the author of the article. I was hesitant to read it. I had a lot of thoughts that hindered me from clicking it. Yet I still read it at the end. I couldn't blame myself for being too soft-hearted, right?"Fading Chapters," I read the title. These words are quite painful."I am lost
Dale Daniel's POV"Aren't we just wasting our time here?" I complained, impatient. "It's been 2 days already but we still haven't found that Little Author.""Calm down, sir," Trish spoke. "The HQ told us that her IP address is just around Paris.""But Paris is the biggest city here in France!" I argued."Her website!" he exclaimed. "Let's see if she has a new update."With Trish's idea, I went back to my chair and opened my laptop. After a minute, I am now on her page. Again, I felt a strange excitement when I clicked on that website. I just wanted to sit down with a cup of coffee while reading her words. Sometimes, I felt a sense of relief while going over to her works. This author really reminds me of someone. Yeah, it reminds me of her. I could feel warmth just from their words.I wonder how Zyah is doing now."Appreciating little things req
