Dale Daniel's POV
“I don’t have any photos left that I could use for my update today.” She frowned and turned her head to me. “You are prepared.”
“You told me so.”
“It's February already. I want to spread love today,” she said, laying her head on the table, bummed out.
“Woman?” I called. I reached the camera inside my backpack and stood up from my seat. “Sit here.”
“Huh? Why?” She asked, still in that situation, not moving an inch.
“I’ll take pictures of you.”
Clarriese Zyah’s POVI feel my whole world spinning while I am staring at the laptop’s monitor. I couldn't even read a single word. O could feel like they are moving and getting entangled with each other. Everything gets blurry. The pain in my head gets heavier. I closed my eyes as I rested my head on the table.“Zyah?” I heard someone call my name but I couldn’t open my eyes. It felt so heavy. I am really in bad shape.“Zy?” I could sense his thoughtful touch on my shoulder, trying his best to wake me up.“Mm?” It’s difficult for me to utter a word in a dried throat.“Wake
Dale Daniel’s POVDay quickly passed by, Zyah already got well and went back to her usual state, the lively her. We are now gathered, the six of us, under the shade of a huge acacia tree at the back area of the university. I have known this place during my junior days but I’ve never been here. Riona office, library, classroom, home, that’s only my routine. But the girls always spend their time here, almost everyday. And today they approach us, asking to be with them. Johnny and Ryle agreed without hesitation, leaving me the only choice, to go with them too. We need to finish lots of activities and projects since graduation is getting nearer.“Dwight?” Ryle faced her holding a piece of paper.“Hmm?” Dwight responded, halte
Dale Daniel’s POVOur ceremony just ended a while ago. Most of the graduates are now taking pictures with their families, anywhere at the campus.I hurriedly went to the university’s field when I received Zyah’s text message saying that she is now waiting for me down there.“Let’s welcome, Mr. Dale Daniel Cuego!” She speaks like a graduation emcee, calling me on stage. “Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Summa Cum Laude.”“What are you doing here, woman?” I asked as I accepted the bouquet she gave. She clapped. “Yay! You are now a graduate, Cuego!”
Dale Daniel’s POV“What’s with this unusual ambiance, Cuego?” Ryle asked and lent his hand to me, giving me a canned drink.I let out a quick smirk after I accepted his offer. “Just letting my mind wander a little.”“You are spacing out like this. This is not like you!” He teased and drank his drink.“Hear yourself, Ryle.” We heard Johnny’s voice coming near us. We could hear his loud laughter. “Letting his mind wander a little is nothing. Don't forget that he's a Summa Cum Laude!” He added, grinning.I thought he wouldn&
Clarriese Zyah's POVTime came and my friends arrived at our house. It's my birthday and my mom threw a simple party for me. We only prepared food and invited only my friends. Of course, Aunt Lavianna is here too."Happy Birthday, Zy!" They all greeted me. They gave me a hug one by one."Here!" Johnny hands over a yellow paper bag. "My birthday gift," he said."Here's mine, Ms. Tehran." Ryle slightly bowed down, reaching out his hand holding a paper bag too. He raised his head and showed his smile. "Please accept my birthday gift, my lady.""Mind yourself, Ryle," Dale warned him, giving him a sharp look.
Dale Daniel’s POV“This is the final boarding call for passengers booked on a flight to New York City. Please proceed to gate 3 immediately. The final checks are being completed and the captain will order for the doors of the aircraft to close in approximately five minutes in time. I repeat. This is the final boarding call. Thank you.”After hearing the boarding call, I could feel the pain inside my heart grow bigger. As I looked at the five people in front of me, I couldn’t help but feel sad. Yes, I am happy but there’s sadness too. Yes, their smiles encouraged me but it’ll take a lot of years again for me to witness this moment. I know within me that I’ll long for it.I know that when I left the country, I didn’t know about w
Clarriese Zyah’s POV “Until now?!” Dwight stopped writing on her paper when I told her about my situation. “Yeah. I could feel that there is someone following me,” I said, in an uncomfortable tone. “What if it was just your mere imagination?” “I dunno. It felt so real.” “But you mentioned that it happened many times already!” She sounded mad. “I told you. I couldn't help but feel afraid.” I heaved out a sigh. She let out a deep breath to calm herself. “Let's just focus on our school work first, shall we?” She poin
Dale Daniel’s POV“How are you doing these past few years?” I asked, fixing my gaze on her. We are now sitting on the pavement at the university’s field. She is seated next to me but not that close. She smiled. “I’m glad that I survived college life.”From where I am, I could see how perfect her visuals were. She owns that not-so-red thin lips, her pinkish cheeks, her mushy gazes from her tantalizing eyes and her black hair fits her fair skin. She is more gorgeous than before.“College journey made me realize a lot of things,” she uttered seriously then she looked at me. “It was exhausting. It's a good thing that I didn't lose my breath du

Dale Daniel hurried to go home. He couldn't resist his excitement to see his wife after such a tiring day."Manang Lydia, where are my ladies?" he asked when he entered the house."Sir, you are looking for Ma'am Zyah? Aren't you two together?" Manang Lydia replied. "I didn't see them around."Dale wondered where they were. His wife sent him a message that they are home but Manang Lydia says differently. He decided to look for them upstairs."Wife? Dhyrine?" He called but he heard nothing from them. He opened the door of their room but no one was there. He went down again, still calling his wife and daughter.
Clarriese Zyah's POVNow that Dale is now in front of me, I couldn't search for any words to utter. I was dumbfounded and lost my speech. My heart was beating loudly that it may come out of my chest at any moment. My rapid heart beats hindered me from letting out a word.I never thought this moment would happen. I am not prepared for this. I couldn't even bring myself to meet his gaze. Even if I wanted to, I just couldn't do it. For now, looking at him directly in his eyes was the most difficult thing to do."Ah? I need to accompany her," I said, intentionally avoiding him. I hurriedly went to Delia's direction and sat next to her."Enjoying the view?" I wrote on the piece of paper I was holding. I felt my palms sweating and my hands shaking. I am in a deep panic and don't know how to calm myself down. When I handed the paper to her, she turned and gave me a "thumbs up" accompanied with a bright, wide smile.I write s
Dale Daniel's POV"Something bad happened to Zyah.""What?!" I asked but I've got no response. The other line went quiet. When I checked my phone, it turned out that the call had already ended. I tried calling him again but he is out of coverage already."Sir Dale!" I heard someone call me.When I lifted up my head, I saw him, my driver. He was already standing beside the car, waiting for me. When I got nearer he helped me to put my luggage in the trunk."Manong? I need to go somewhere. Can you just take a cab to go back to the house?"He nodded and smiled. "Sure, sir Dale. No problem."I gave him money for his fare. I immediately started the engine of the car when I got on. I couldn't afford to miss another minute. I tried calling Zyah's phone but this time it's unavailable. The fear began to stir inside my chest. I wonder what happened to her. If that's how Dwight and Ellaine reacted, then something big really happened.
Clarriese Zyah's POVMy hands were trembling as I continued to check on the papers from the envelope I found in dad's things. I couldn't be more terrified. If I'm right with my thoughts then, who is this man? Is he really my dad? But he has the same appearance as my father!I am confused. My mind went messy. When I heard someone open the door, I immediately went down. I gathered myself together. I need to know the truth."Baby, we are home!" I heard my mom announce. When I faced both of them, I couldn't search for a word to utter. I lost my speech. I have a lot of thoughts in my mind but when I opened my mouth, I didn't know what to say first. I felt like my head was going to explode anytime soon. I felt like something was fighting in my head that was getting more and more disturbing. It's a very difficult fight. It was terrible.I felt like going crazy."Zy, are you okay?" My father asked and tried to touch my hand but intentionally
Dale Daniel's POVMisty road, chaotic mind, aching heart.I stepped on gas and sped up my car despite being unsure what lies ahead on the road. I am not drunk. I am just out of my mind trying to get rid of the pain devouring my heart.Due to the thick fog around, I didn't notice the lady who crossed the road. That happened before I could even stop the car. I felt like I was sweating even it's a frigid morning. With my hands shaking, I opened my car's door. I walked towards her with unsteady feet. I felt my whole body trembling.Lying down, unconscious. Her white dress was stained with her own blood.Dreadfully nervous, I went closer to her. Too anxious to see her condition. Fear enveloped my system, nearly shutting down my heart and made me breathless. Oh no. What should I do? Is she dead? When her face became apparent to my vision, my entire world collapsed. I suddenly fell down helplessly. I began crying out her name, begging her to
Clarriese Zyah's POVDay after I went to Dreammy Pen HQ, I processed my papers for going to the Philippines. I am worried about Lola. Maybe it's now time to face all of them.No one could ever escape from the truth. Fate won't be an exception for me. I couldn't picture in my mind how I am going to face my father but I know I could stand it somehow. I already had a lot of time running away. I've been away with the thought of healing myself. But I know within me how I missed my family and friends. I can only be genuinely happy when I am with them. What's the point of being afraid to go back when they are all waiting for me?When my plane landed at NAIA, I stepped down with excitement bubbling in my heart. Nothing beats the feeling of being in your homeland. I could smile with relief. It is true that the Philippines is indeed for the Pilipinos. Am I right? That's what I am thinking right now."Zyah!" I heard my name
Clarriese Zyah's POVI am bothered by what Mr. Scott told me. Every word he said made sense and made me believe that it was really him. I didn't waste any seconds and looked for my laptop. I found myself typing on the keyboard the name of their website. I was discouraged when I found out that it has been quiet for many days already. The featured journalists and writers on their page are more than 10 only. They were about a hundred the last time I visited their page. That Mr. Scott, whoever he is, isn't lying. The Inkwell really is in a dilemma. It seems that they indeed need my help.I continued browsing on their website. Until I found a content that shows Dale was the author of the article. I was hesitant to read it. I had a lot of thoughts that hindered me from clicking it. Yet I still read it at the end. I couldn't blame myself for being too soft-hearted, right?"Fading Chapters," I read the title. These words are quite painful."I am lost
Dale Daniel's POV"Aren't we just wasting our time here?" I complained, impatient. "It's been 2 days already but we still haven't found that Little Author.""Calm down, sir," Trish spoke. "The HQ told us that her IP address is just around Paris.""But Paris is the biggest city here in France!" I argued."Her website!" he exclaimed. "Let's see if she has a new update."With Trish's idea, I went back to my chair and opened my laptop. After a minute, I am now on her page. Again, I felt a strange excitement when I clicked on that website. I just wanted to sit down with a cup of coffee while reading her words. Sometimes, I felt a sense of relief while going over to her works. This author really reminds me of someone. Yeah, it reminds me of her. I could feel warmth just from their words.I wonder how Zyah is doing now."Appreciating little things req
