Chapter 66

Pollen’s POV

I sat at the back seat of the cab with Mia, Patricia had left me dumbfounded after everything she said back in her house.

When the car pulled over at the apartment Mia was renting, I didn’t even realize. The 30 minute drive from Covington to Conyers, where Mia’s studio apartment is located, felt like a stone throw.

“Hey. We are here” Mia said to me calmly.

“Okay” Was all I could say as I got out of the car.

Mia had already gotten the box that contained my belongings. I tried to take it from here, but she refused.

“It’s okay, I got you”

I trailed behind her wordlessly as we entered the threshold of the studio apartment. She opened the door, and I exhaled loudly.

“Welcome home,” She said.

I took in the sparky white apart, before plunging into the gray mid-century sofa filled with dark blue and burnt orange pillows. She pushed open the door by the left side of the living room, it turned out to be the bedroom.

She took my box in and came out to stand before me.
