Sophia’s POV

The morning started like any other day . I decided to distract myself with chores, starting with organizing the paperwork cluttering my dining table. Bills, notes, and work documents were strewn everywhere, and I carefully stacked them into neat piles. That’s when I saw the balance statement from Cindy’s debt company.

I froze, my eyes fixating on the bold print: *$248,000.*

It mocked me, a constant reminder of my entrapment. Cindy’s manipulation had turned my already dire situation into a waking nightmare. No matter how much I paid, the balance never seemed to shrink.

With a deep breath, I shoved the paper to the bottom of the pile. There was no use dwelling on it now.

A knock on the door startled me. I wasn’t expecting anyone, and for a brief moment, my mind flashed to the black roses and the shadowy figure from the grocery store.

Cautiously, I approached the door. “Who is it?”

“It’s Crystal.”

Relief flooded through me as I opened the door. Crystal stood th

Sophia’s POVThe mall echoed with the chatter of shoppers and the murmur of soft music playing overhead. Michael and I had come to restock some office essentials that had run out, and, as always, he was all business. His movements were brisk, while I followed a step behind, juggling a basket overflowing with notebooks, printer cartridges, and enough pens to last a year. “Is that everything?” Michael asked as we stood near the stationery hall. “I think so,” I replied, glancing at the list on my phone. “Good. Let’s pay and get out of here,” he said.We began walking toward the checkout counter when a familiar voice stopped me in my tracks. “Sophia?” I turned sharply, my eyes widening as I saw a man standing just a few feet away. He was tall and lean, with kind eyes that crinkled at the corners when he smiled. It took me a second to recognize him, but when I did, I couldn’t stop the grin that spread across my face. “Charles?” I gasped, dropping everything I was holding. The b

Sophia’s POVAs I prepared for the day. A text notification popped up on my phone just as I finished dressing. It was from Charles. Charles: "Hey Sophia, looking forward to catching up! The café’s called Roastery Bliss on Easton Avenue. See you at noon."I stared at the message, a wave of warmness spread through me. It felt surreal to reconnect with someone who knew me before life became so... complicated. I glanced at the clock. It was only 10 a.m., but I had taken the morning off to ensure I’d be on time. It wasn’t like me to prioritize anything over work, but Charles is just someone who I would like to speak to over and over again forever if I have to.The café was a quaint, cozy spot nestled in the heart of Easton Avenue. Its glass walls reflected the bustling street outside, while the inside exuded calm a mix of warm wooden furniture, hanging plants, and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. I spotted Charles immediately. He was seated by a window, his tall frame slightl

Sophia’s POVThe mid-afternoon sun was hot,as I stepped outside the café, the laughter I shared with Charles was still lingering in my chest. It had been a good day, better than most. I was in no rush to get back to my apartment or even think about work, so I hailed a taxi, thinking I’d take the scenic route home. As I opened the car door, my phone buzzed insistently in my purse. With a sigh, I fished it out, noticing Laura’s name flashing on the screen. My good mood dimmed. What could she possibly want? “Hello?” I answered, already bracing myself. “Mr. Mahone said you need to report to the office immediately,” Laura’s voice came through, sharp and condescending. “What? I took permission to be out today,” I shot back, irritation creeping into my tone. Laura let out an exaggerated sigh. “Whatever. Some investors just came in, and Mr. Mahone needs a translator. Apparently, it’s urgent.” I frowned, my confusion deepening. “But I don’t work in the translation department anymore

Sophia’s POVThe tension in the meeting room was observable, the kind that made every sound, every flip of a paper, every click of a pen feel amplified. I sat stiffly in my chair, keeping my focus entirely on the French client seated across from Mr mahone. Their discussion was centered on social media improvement and management, with the client keen on investing heavily in Mahone Industries to boost productivity and outreach. The client, a middle-aged man named Alain Bernard, spoke rapidly in French, outlining his company’s vision. He used big, sweeping hand gestures to emphasize his points, and I worked tirelessly to translate each word. My voice was calm despite Michael’s harsh attitude towards me. When I first started learning French, I never imagined it would lead to moments like this sitting in a high-profile meeting, seamlessly bridging the language gap for someone like Michael Mahone. And, I didn’t attend any prestigious school of languages or take fancy classes abroad. My

Sophia's POV"Drive straight to the penthouse. I want to teach this little girl here a lesson." Micheal commanded theo.I didn't know whether to feel apprehensive or intrigued, but I chose to remain silent, glancing at him from the corner of my eye as Theo obediently turned the car onto a quiet, private road. When we pulled up to the building, my jaw almost dropped. It wasn't just a penthouse; it was a masterpiece. The towering structure gleamed under the moonlight, its design was as elegant as it was imposing.Entering the penthouse was like stepping into a dream. Everything inside sparkled, polished floors, enormous chandeliers, and furniture that looked like it belonged in a royal palace."So, Michael has this type of property," I murmured under my breath, unable to hide my amazement. The moment we stepped inside, Michael said to the housekeeper, "Run her a bubble bath. Make sure it's perfect. And set up the best dinner you've ever prepared." I don’t want excuses The housekeeper

Sophia’s pov I was already feeling tipsy, because Micheal drowned me in a high percentage of alcohol, while we were having dinner.Micheal pushed me on the bed, while stripping away my long jacket, allowing only my bra and pant to be exposed. I was scared because I didn't know what he was up to.I was trying so hard to resist him, when he dragged my hands and handcuffed them to a long chain attached to the bed, but he was stronger than me.for my legs he used a telescopic tube to hold them separately, and each time I struggled the telescopic tube widened, causing my legs to open wider.“Stop….st…Michael” I screamed “Shiiiii” he hauted my mouth “You might have to get on your knees to beg for mercy,” he said with a mischievous smile. He moved back and slowly undressed himself, he furrowed his muscles aggressively while at it.I was so obsessed with his figure. His broad shoulders seemed sculpted to perfection, tapering into a lean, defined torso that radiated strength. Each muscle w

Sophia’s POVI woke up to a pounding headache, my body heavy with exhaustion. The soft, clean sheets beneath me smelled fresh, and the room I found myself in was unfamiliar. The events of the previous night flashed through my mind, sending a wave of heat to my cheeks. Michael. I sat up quickly, glancing around. He was gone. The penthouse was silent, the air heavy with the faint scent of cologne he’d left behind. My heart sank, but I shook it off. There wasn’t time to dwell on his abrupt disappearance. I dressed hurriedly, slipping into a simple blouse and skirt, and made my way home to shower and prepare for work. Despite the late night, I wasn’t going to let myself fall behind. The office was bustling as usual, and I barely had time to sit at my desk before Cindy’s shrill voice called out to me. “Sophia,” she said, her tone sugary sweet yet laced with authority, “I need you to finalize a deal with one of my associates. His name is Victor Lambert. He has the documents I need

Michael’s POV I was still furious. Sophia had the audacity to stand up to me…not once, but multiple times recently. Her boldness was testing my patience, and I wasn’t the type to let such defiance slide. Sitting in my office, I drummed my fingers against the polished wood of my desk, the memory of her sharp words replaying in my mind. She didn’t know who she was dealing with. The solution was clear: Sophia needed a reminder of her place, and I knew exactly how to handle her. My special bedroom in the penthouse was the perfect setting to teach her the lesson she seemed to have forgotten. The ride to the penthouse was tense. Sophia sat silently beside me, likely aware of my mood but unwilling to acknowledge it. The air between us felt thick, charged with unspoken emotions. When we arrived, I wasted no time. The luxurious penthouse, usually a place of indulgence, became a stage for my dominance. My “special” room, with its carefully curated tools and equipment, awaited us. So

Michael’s POVAfter giving Cindy a piece of my mind, I stood up and left the restaurant, my head spinning with frustration. She was completely insane if she thought I would ever agree to her ridiculous demand.Marry her for 25 years? What kind of delusional fantasy was she living in?I clenched my jaw, gripping the steering wheel tightly as I drove toward my penthouse, my mind racing. No matter how much I tried to push it aside, Cindy’s words echoed in my head.“You claim you love her, but you can’t even pay her debt.”I gritted my teeth. She was wrong. It wasn’t about not wanting to help Sophia it was about Cindy making it impossible. She refused a down payment. She refused negotiation. She wanted complete control over me.But I would rather burn in hell than let that happen. When I arrived at the penthouse, I parked the car and walked inside, heading straight to the bar.I needed a drink. As I poured myself a glass of whiskey, I pulled out my phone and called Theo.A few minutes lat

Michael’s POVThe tension in the restaurant was thick, suffocating.Cindy sat across from me, swirling her wine lazily, her perfectly manicured fingers tapping against the glass.I had given her one simple demand cancel Sophia’s debt. But, of course, Cindy was Cindy. She always had to make things difficult. Her eyes glimmered with amusement as she crossed her legs and leaned back into her chair.“You will cancel the debt, Cindy.” My voice was firm, cold, unwavering. She let out a mocking laugh. “I will do no such thing, Michael.”I clenched my jaw as she picked up her glass and took a slow sip, as if this entire situation was nothing more than a game to her.“It has to be paid for, Michael. I don’t care about what you’re talking about.” She set the glass down and gave me a pointed look. “Sophia has to find a way to pay that debt.”I exhaled sharply, keeping my rage in check.“Why don’t you pay it then?” Cindy raised an eyebrow, tilting her head. “Since you want to be her superhero so

I’ll send you the location.I didn’t wait for her reply before grabbing my coat and heading out. I had no patience left. Cindy had crossed a line, and I wasn’t about to let her walk away unpunished. This wasn’t about revenge. It was about control. And I needed to remind Cindy who was in charge. The restaurant I chose wasn’t overly fancy, but it was private. A quiet place where no one would interfere.I arrived exactly on time, settled into a booth near the back, and ordered a drink. Then, I waited. And waited. And waited.Thirty minutes passed. Then an hour. And Cindy still wasn’t here.I checked my watch, my patience wearing thin.1 hour and 30 minutes.I gritted my teeth and exhaled sharply. She was playing games.Just as I was about to walk out, the restaurant door swung open.Cindy strutted in, her heels clicking loudly against the floor. She was dressed in a
