CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX

I was at the door when I heard Helen's voice. The excitement of meeting her filled my mind. I thought she was signing, but when I walked closer, I realized she was talking to someone on the phone. I opened the door, hoping that she will notice, but she never did. I stood still and listened to her conversation.

I was shocked when I realized that she was talking to my mum. I watched the boldness that she had. She wasn't afraid of looking straight at her. When my dad showed his face too, I expected her to drop the call, but she didn't. She missed me, that's what she said, and my heart leap in joy, realizing that she missed me the same way I missed her.

I started feeling guilty, I would have fought harder, I would have stood my ground and told my mum that I have to talk to her. The way she sobs made my heart melt. I never wanted to see her cry, it was one thing I have failed to do and I regretted it. I will make it up to her.
