I made sure to avoid Mom for the rest of the night and that was only achievable because Jordan kept her busy. Since the rest of the party had been ruined for me, I decided to just join one of the tables occupied by people my age.

The dance floor was getting filled up and I had no desire to dance with anyone beside my mate. Recalling our dance in the study room brought a smile to my face.

Signalling to the waiter, I grabbed a glass of wine, while looking around for any sign of Damien. I spotted him a few minutes later, sitting by the family table Jordan had preserved for us. Good luck with him trying to make peace between Mom and Damien once they get into it.

"Hi..." A chatty voice said next to me. "It's me again." Said Donna, letting herself settle into the space next to me.

"Oh? Hi!" I responded, surprised to see her again.

"Why aren't you on the dance floor? Let me guess, you've got two left feet as well?" She giggled when I nodded, I felt myself relax at her friendlines
