" what are they doing here?", Scarlett asked turning back at Elora,

" They...",

" What do you mean what are we doing here? Of course, to go along with you to Alpha Damien's mansion." Karine cut Lora's short, chewing her gum loudly l.

Scarlett's breath trembled as she clenched her fist before raising her head to look at Elora,

" Do you bring them here?" she asked,

" They said they want to come along",

" With whose permission?",

" Scarlett..",

" Stop! I don't need anyone to follow me, I'm good on my own", she said and turned to leave,

" You sure you're good? I mean, I guess you might need someone to console you when he brutally rejects you".

Cynthia chuckled forcing back a laughter.

" Karine!", Elora called angrily.

" Thanks for your gesture but I don't need you", she said before storming out of the room.

" Scarlett! Scarlett!!," Elora called after her but she left without looking back, hopping into the waiting car that drove off the moment she got in.

" Seriously Karine?", Elora turned back to them, " you guys promised not to do anything stupid",

" We didn't do anything stupid, we were simply nice",

" Oh really? That was the nicest thing ever to say",

" That was the truth",

" What truth? You don't even know that. And I told you clearly before which I will remind you again, if you want us to continue this friendship then you'd stop bullying Scarlett ",

" Calm down, Elly," Misha intervened finally, smiling.

" Don't tell me to calm down Misha, do you think I'd be friends with you guys if I knew earlier that you do bully Scarlett?",

" And we stopped when you told us she's your best friend ",

" Oh did you? Misha?".

Misha sighed and before she could utter another word, Elora had stormed away.

" Seriously what's her issue? Did she expect us to just stop just because she's friends with that loser?",

" I don't even know what she sees in her. Should we just stop being friends with both of them?", Cynthia suggested biting her finger,

" Not yet, Elly is rich and nearly the most beautiful girl in the whole pack, and my family needs some influence, "Misha said, walking out of the house while Karine and Cynthia followed, " and more, I like her. "

Karine eyed her shrugging, " ugh! She pisses me off",

" Deal with it".

**

" How could she! How could she bring them to my house knowing how much I've suffered because of them, knowing how much they've bullied and humiliated me in front of many people", Scarlett said in her mind pinching her nails hard and clenching her jaw, " do they always have to remind me how much of an unfortunate being I am?".

Tears streamed down her eyes as her shoulders dropped in despondent.

" I just want to die".

The driver heard her say out loud and looked at her through the side mirror. He opened his mouth to speak but couldn't as they arrived at the mansion and the words that came out instead were,

" We're here ma'am".

Scarlett looked out of the window and wiped her tears off, cleaning them as dryly as she could, and adjusting her dress before stepping out of the car. She stood before the mansion taking in a deep breath and giving out a long exhale.

For a blin of seconds, Scarlett's eyes dilated, and her heart softened as she stared at one of the most beautiful mansions in the whole clan. A smile curled up on her face before the waves of despair hit her.

She walked into the building and was immediately welcomed by the servants waiting at the doorways. Two female servants took her through the hallway into the huge sitting room that was so magnificent.

Scarlett got lost, staring around, unaware of the servants that had left her alone in the room.

" Wow",

" Like what you see?", a harsh female voice jolted her out of trance.

She turned around to see a blonde lady standing by the couch. Her lips parted as her eyes admire her shiny blonde hair and flawless skin.

" Let me guess, you're the Scarlett?" she asked, eyeing her from head to toe.

Her tone and eyes already told Scarlett she was not welcome.

" Y.yeah", she stammered, " I'm. supposed to meet Alpha Damien today".

There was an uncomfortable silence afterward. Scarlett held her fingers together staring at the floor with her chest rising and falling fast.

'Just tell me I've been rejected and let me quickly be on my way,' she hoped in her mind. But somewhere in, she hoped for a disappointment.

" I would wish for you to disappear."

Scarlett heard her say, " I know",

" You know?",

" Hm."

" Then why are you here?"

" Because....".

The clicking sound of shoes descending from the stairs interrupted her, and she turned to see the man who was the reason for her presence in the house descending.

It was like a mini-god descending from the sky, approaching in his well-fitted suit. Her lips parted as she felt a rush through her veins, and her knees felt weak as she stared at the most handsome man she'd ever seen walking toward her. Her eyes feast on his spiky hair, then on his captivating eyes, his lips, and his broad shoulders.

" Miss Scarlett?".

His rigid voice nearly made her heart stop.

" Y..yes?", she forced out her voice and swallowed hard before dropping her gaze.

" I'm Damien", he introduced,

" H.hi?",

" Why are you standing? Please take a seat", he said, walking around the couch and gesturing for her to take a seat.

Feeling nervous, she sat down opposite him while the corner of her eyes could still see the blonde lady standing in akimbo with her glaring eyes beside her.

" Do you need anything? Some water?", he made to call on one of the servants but she quickly stopped him,

" No, no I'm okay",

" You sure? I just want you to feel comfortable ",

" No, I'm good", she said, seeing three more people joining them in the sitting room, two women and a man who kept their distance behind them.

' oh, feel comfortable with four people in the room with us and glaring at me like they want to have me as their meet for dinner!!' she yelled in her mind while keeping her composure.

" Okay, let me start by introducing myself properly, I'm Damien Hemsworth and if I'm not wrong, you're Scarlett Grover",

" Yes",

" I've heard so much about your family",

" Yeah, you must have", she muttered,

" My purpose for suggesting us to meet...",

" I know", she cut him short still not looking at him,

" You know? you..",

" Of course, you don't have to spell it out for me, and I understand, I mean, no one would accept either",

" Huh?", Damien furrowed his brow in confusion,

" Don't worry, I'm prepared for it so you can just say it and I'll leave, no need for stress", she said forcing some smiles,

" I don't get, Prepared for what?",

" The rejection of course",

" Who said I'm rejecting you?".

The bride’s dressing room was a paradox of beauty and menace. Soft golden light spilled from a crystal chandelier above, casting warm halos onto the walls painted in a muted cream tone. Ornate mirrors stood before the bride and her makeup artist. A bouquet of white roses sat in a porcelain vase, their delicate fragrance nearly masking the faint metallic tang of anxiety that hung in the air. Yet, despite the serene charm of the room, a chilling tension undercut its elegance. The bride's eyes, sharp and unyielding, scanned the room with a clinical detachment, her crimson-painted lips curving into a smile too perfect, too controlled with the room echoing her energy. Every gesture of hers was memorized, calm, and unnervingly charged, as if it, too, was complicit in whatever thoughts she concealed beneath her flawless exterior. This was no nervous bride preparing for her big day—this was a woman donning her armor, readying herself for something far darker than vows. Elora smiled, her to
