CHAPTER THREE

DAPHNEY'S POV

(Phone rings)

"Hello....". I picked up the call, it's already connected to a earpiece in my ear . I couldn't hold the phone since I'm still driving in the car .

"Heyyyy....Sisto" She squealed

"Hey...Hi... Birdbrain". I said .

It has been our habit of calling ourselves names like two lovers who call themselves sweet names. But this was different,we loved calling ourselves weird and annoying names.

"C'mon.. when will you stop calling me Birdbrain? She whined.

"When you give birth... I may change my mind ". I chuckled swerving to a tarred road.

"Shut up Bitch!". She yelled as we both laughed .

"I was coming back from Mom's place,she told me the usuals as I stormed out". I said.

"Awwwn.... could you believe she actually called me,she told me to talk sense into your head". She giggled

"Okay...go ahead ". I said as we both laughed again.

I love my sister and we're kinda close,very close. She did a lot of stupid things just to hook me and guys up. But y'all know me...I fucked it all up.

--------FLASH BACK---------

"Sisto...I think my baby is coming". Diana said as she breathed hard.

"OMG...! I'm on my way now.. what of Jeff?" I asked, packing my stuffs into my briefcase. I was still at work.

"Argggggggghhhhh....Jeff is not around,he traveled". She said

I got so scared,I can't bare to lose my only sister. I left my work place and drove to her house. I got to her house to receive the shock of my life.

She sat down next to their swimming pool with her legs in the water . She even wore a bikini and Jeff was with her . They were giggling and feeding themselves some crunchies .

"What's going on here? I flinched a little.

"Sis....!". She came out of the water and moved close to me as she hugged me. I was cold stiff. I don't know what to do.

"What was that for? I asked as she drew my hand to their big sitting room.

"What should I offer you? I have your favorite flavor of ice cream... strawberry flavor". She licked her lips, ignoring my words.I looked at Jeff who looked away .

"Jeff? you knew about this too? I asked as he stood up surrendering his hands in the air and entered the room leaving I and Diana alone to discuss.

"What's.... going on-". I was about to start a discussion when we heard a knock on the door .

"Ohhh....Daphney....I gotta get this...Jeff.. Jeff?". She smiled and I knew that smile. It's as mischievous as her cute devilish eyes . She called her husband and he came out as they both went to the door to see the person who was knocking . I moved to the counter where wine is to get myself a cup of wine when a guy came to meet me.

"Hello Pretty". He said

I looked back just to see my sister and her husband giving me thumbs up as they went out . I gritted my teeth.

"Hi". I said coldly.

"I'm Emerson...and you're Daphney I guess". He laughed.

"Hahahaha....yeah Daphney". I mimicked his laughter and he was kinda embarrassed. I didn't care as I sipped my drink.

"So...hummm,can I get your number so we can meet up properly....you know,for a real date and not this one". He said and collected the cup from my hand and drank from the same spot where I drank from he even licked the edges of the cup and he licked his lips .

This guy is so gonna regret it. I thought as I stared at him blankly with my beautiful evil eyes. I tried to look sexy so that I'll give him the beating of his life .

He made advances to kiss me,I slapped him and beat him up, infact I threw the glass cup at him as he ran out in fear. He met Diana and Jeff on the way and told them what happened in a jiffy.

"She's a Bitch....A crazy badass woman". He cried , telling Diana as they both ran inside.

"What happened? What's going on here? Diana asked with baffled eyes.

"I asked that same question when I came in but you gave me no answer " I said sipping from the wine I helped myself with .

"Tccchhh". She scoffed .

"That poor guy.... Jeff we need to contact him to see how he's fairing" She said facing her husband.

"Poor Emerson... He's gonna kill you". He chuckled.

"Kill me? Are you forgetting that this was our plan ? She flinched. I didn't pay attention to them as they argued on and on. I ate all the ice cream they bought ,the vanilla flavor,the chocolate flavor and the strawberry one,my favorite .

They didn't notice me until they were done arguing. They noticed I was silent as they looked at me and yelled my name.

"Daphney....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".

---------PRESENT--------

"You don't want me to set you up again do you? She giggled.

"I hate you Diana....I laughed so hard as we both remembered how she set me up. She even mentioned names .

"Have you forgotten what you did to Daniel? The guy blocked me on all my social media account,he stopped picking my calls, that's so hilarious and also... Henry,that cute guy... Seriously Sis,you need to change,you need a partner" . She said still laughing.

"I have a partner already". I said out of blues.

"What? Partner? seriously! and you didn't tell me? I thought you said we're very close, and you said we shouldn't keep anything from each other....now you've betrayed us". She said . I can feel a tone of disappointment in her voice . I couldn't control my laughter.

"You're still laughing...so who's the partner? I mean the lucky guy". She giggled. She loves gist a lot.

"Well... I'm sorry to shock you,but it's my work! ". I laughed hard as I honked at my gate. My gatekeeper hurried to open it for me.

"Geeezzzzzz.....! you're crazy Sisto". She laughed.

"I know... I know babe".

I laughed hard . There's no dull moment wherever Diana is .

"Where're you ? She asked.

"Just got home... today is Sunday and I can't wait to resume back to work on Monday, I'm sick and tired of staying alone at home".

"See! That's why you need a partner Sis". She said drawing the last word .

"I've heard you...but I'm comfortable with Jack". I chuckled.

"Jack? Jack is your dog for crying out loud". She screamed.

"Jack is my dog and he's the one I love".

"Get married to your dog then" . She yelled

"What ? You're insane,get off my phone Bitch". I laughed hard as I ended the call .
