Richard's POV

I stepped into the room, looking at Elizabeth's peaceful, sleeping figure on the bed.

Her hands and feet were tied to the edges of the bed with a long rope.

I traced the high slit of the gown she had been changed into and my mouth watered, staring at her pale skin.

She looked every bit like an angel, yet so seductive.

"I never thought I would want you as much as I do," I whispered, and sat on the edge of the bed.

Watching her sleep was like a price. I let my eyes trace the lines of her face. Her rosy cheeks made my heart dance. I didn't think. I didn't need to and gently lowered my face kissing the side of her forehead.

"What do I have to do to make you mine?"

I let my fingers trace a smooth line along her cheek, feeling the warmth of her skin.

She groaned softly, and moved slightly. I didn't stop, I couldn't stop. My hand kept going downward, and she flinched as I touched her neck.

I smiled, tracing my fingers to her bosoms. They were the palest skin tone and grew bigge

Adam’s POVThe stench of whiskey, sweat, and bad choices clung to the air like a second skin. Smoke twisted through the buzzing gambling den, thick as the tension simmering beneath the surface. Laughter rang out, sharp and reckless, punctuated by the occasional crash of a glass, the groan of a man who’d just lost more than he could afford. And then I walked in.The noise dipped. Just for a second. Just enough for me to catch the shift. The way backs stiffened, the way men at the tables glanced up, clocking my presence before quickly looking away. Some with fear. Others with thinly veiled resentment.I didn’t care either way.I adjusted my cufflinks, the crisp linen of my tailored suit a stark contrast to the filth of this place. I wasn’t here to blend in. I was here to hunt. And my prey sat right in front of me.Takeshi Sato.He was a Yakuza associate. Greedy, sloppy and weak. The bastard was drowning in liquor, his arm draped around a half-dressed woman who laughed at something he sa

Adam’s POVI was there before he hit the ground, catching his weight as his knees buckled. His fingers clawed at my jacket, breathing ragged. “Adam…”“Stay with me,” I pleaded. His blood pooled beneath him, and men returned. The sniper shooter was dead. They had handled it.Kevin’s grip tightened on my shirt. His eyes darkened. Unfocused.“Listen. I...” He coughed, blood spilling past his lips. “Christine…I...”“Don’t talk. We’ll get you out,” I said.He shook his head violently. His nails dug into my arm. “You don’t…understand.”“Please, listen to me,” he said, panting.“It was my fault. Everything. I'm sorry Adam,” he said, in a teary voice.I shook my head. “No, it's not.”“It is,” he replied. “I had been working with Lance for a while. Ever since I suspected Elizabeth wasn't here just for the money. I connected with lance through some old connections.”I listened, watching the blood pour from his mouth as he struggled to get the words out. “Christine and I were lovers. I help her

Adam’s POV“We have to go back to the monastery,” Maximus yelled.I nodded and we began retreating, covering each other's movement with gunshots at the enemy.Keeping my head low, as my back hit the cold pillars of the monastery, I checked to locate the enemy's position. My men moved in calculated bursts, dodging between broken columns, returning fire with trained precision. But it wasn’t enough. We were pinned down, boxed in like rats.I saw it in their faces, the realization. We were outnumbered. The Yakuza had us trapped, pressing in from all sides. They had the upper hand. I couldn't risk my men dying. I had to think of something.Nico slid beside me, tossing a loaded gun into my hand. "Here, catch!" he shouted over the chaos.I grabbed it on instinct, barely turning my head before a bullet pierced his leg."Aaah!" He screamed falling to the floor. I quickly got down and pulled him away from the firing bullets."Are you going to be okay?" I asked, worried. He nodded, and quickly t

Elizabeth’s POVI hissed, pulling at the ropes holding my wrists. Richard and Lily were at the door arguing about whatever they cared about.bI pulled the rope again, hurting my wrist and I gave up with a groan.“Don't bother sweetheart, it won't work,” Richard said, looking at me.He was right. I had been pulling the rope for hours and my wrists was already bruised.“Let’s go,” Richard finally said, adjusting his suit jacket. “She’s not going anywhere.”Lily smirked, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “Good. I’d hate to chase after her again.”She walked out, her heels clicking sharply against the floor, and Richard followed, before the door shut.Screw it. If only someone could...my eyes trailed and focused on Christine. She was on the floor picking each piece of glass and acting like I wasn't in the room.“Ow,” she groaned, holding up the finger that had been cut by the glass. Her eyes met mine and there was complete silence. She returned to picking the glass and I exhaled slowly

Adam’s POV“Adam!” Elizabeth’s voice cut through with fear.I barely had time to react before Richard’s gun fired. The shot rang out, but I felt nothing. There was no pain or impact.Because Richard had missed. He looked at me surprised and my eyes trailed down to Christine beneath his leg.He followed my gaze spotting her. She had pushed him at the last second. She rose, breathing hard.Elizabeth wasted no time. The second Richard stumbled, she twisted out of his hold, breaking free.I moved quickly, throwing my fist in his face. He groaned and stumbled back and I hit him again. The gun fell off his hand and blood dripped from his nostrils.“You fucking...” Richard curses, but my fist hit him hard again. He fell to the floor, holding his bleeding nose.I attacked, but he recovered dodging my punch and kicking me.I growled, and lunged at him, hitting his ribs. The blood slurped from his mouth and he growled. “I have had enough of you.”His feet met my ribs, knocking me out of his sid

Adam's POV“You're foolish,” Richard cursed. “She shot her.”“Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you, right now!” I yelled. My finger twitched at the trigger and I waited.“You can't do it,” Richard sneered. “You don't have it in you.”“I don't?” I asked. “Don’t push your luck brother.”“I’m not afraid of you, brother,” Richard said, laughing.“You should be,” I spat. I wanted to send him to hell, but he was right. My hands wouldn't pull the trigger no matter how much I tried. His eyes darted to Elizabeth and back at me. “I'm taking her with me,” he announced.“In your dreams, Richard,” I growled. He moved and my gun followed. “Don’t tempt me.”“Give her to me,” Richard yelled. He was only getting her when I died. “You touch her, you're dead.”“Watch me,” he said and moved forward.“Richard, don't!” I warned, hesitating. He didn't listen and began running towards me.“Richard, don't,” Lily begged, her voice breaking.I pulled the trigger, and he fell to the floor. Adam's POVThe heart monitor started beeping again, and I exhaled. She coughed, her eyes still closed, and I fell to my knees. “Thank you,” I breathed.“She's stable,” I heard the doctor say. He checked her pulse and turned to me. “I'll have to watch her to avoid such things happening again.”I didn't answer, only nodding slightly while I kept my eyes on her.I should have never let her out of my sight. She was suffering because of me. This was never going to happen again.Looking at her fragile form made me want to kill Richard, but I couldn't.I stood up, and the door opened. Yumi walked in, and Christine entered a few seconds later. She had a bandage on her forehead and looked guilty. Her eyes resting on Elizabeth.“What do you want?” I asked, facing Christine.“I'm so sorry,” Christine said, her voice trembling.“That's not what I asked,” I replied. My eyes stayed glued to her. Adam's POVI wanted to tear him to shreds.Bloody bastard!“You came,” he said, his lips forming a wicked smirk.“You must have missed me,” he continued.I stepped forward, opening the glass door and walked in.“It's been barely a day and you're already here,” he mocked. “Seems you need my help.”“Where are they?” I asked, not interested in his bullshit.“Who?” He asked, smiling. “You have to be specific, brother.”He was mocking me.“Don’t fucking play games with me, Richard! Where are they?” I asked, pissed as hell.“I am in the mood for a game. Shall we play hide and seek?” He asked, still smiling. My voice turned hoarse and deeper. “I'm not in the mood.”“But I am,” he answered cheerfully.“What do you want?” I asked.“To leave here,” he answered, immediately.“Not a chance,” I blurted.“Now answer me. Where the hell did you put them? Kevin's family.”“Oh, them?” He asked. He was sounding more like a psychopath every single day.“Where did you keep Diana and her daughter?” I asked

Adam’s POVAs soon as Corinth made a run for it, the chase ensued. The guards immediately shouted orders, their heavy boots echoing on the marble floor as they pursued her. Corinth moved swiftly, weaving through the crowd with a sense of urgency that gave precision to her every action. Her arms pumped, and her legs propelled her forward as she ran down the hallway, holding on tightly to the stolen gun.I followed her at a measured pace. She was driven by survival instincts, but panic often leads to mistakes. She would eventually slip up, and I intended to be there when it happened. At the end of the corridor, Corinth took a sharp turn into another hallway. A guard lunged at her, barely grazing her sleeve, but she spun around, driving her elbow into his ribs. He grunted in pain and stumbled back, crashing into a glass cabinet that shattered, sending pieces of glass everywhere.Another guard was on her quickly, reaching for her arm, but she ducked, swinging the gun to connect with his j

Corinth’s POVThe kitchen was filled with the aroma of fresh herbs and cooked meat, but it didn't give me the satisfaction I needed. I felt out of place.I stood at the shiny counter, my hands steady despite the cold surface. The head chef worked quickly and skillfully, preparing Elizabeth's dinner with pride in his work. He had no clue about my intentions. The moment had arrived. I reminded myself, "Don't mess up. Just do it and get out. It won't kill her. She'll be okay."I kept these thoughts in my head.I glanced at the spice rack. There was a small vial hidden between jars of basil and oregano, easy to miss. I had placed it there earlier to blend with the spices. My fingers brushed over it as I pretended to care about the plates. My heart was racing. There was no turning back.If I hesitated, my boss would punish me harshly. He never forgave mistakes. Failing was not an option for me.The chef turned to grab some rosemary. That was my chance.I carefully added a few drops of the

Adam’s POVThe room felt incredibly small, almost as if it were closing in on me. I could hardly breathe. My heart was pounding loudly, like war drums, as I stormed out, each step driven by the burning anger inside me.Corinth!!!That name was stuck in my thoughts, gripping my anger tightly. She had a simple task: deliver my message. Just one task, and she didn't do it.Maybe she even ignored it on purpose.I moved quickly through the hallway, my hands clenched in fists. I needed to find out what happened right away. Kevin had come out of his coma. That should have been the first thing I was told. Instead, I was kept in the dark. Someone was trying to keep me uninformed, someone wanted me off balance. And Corinth was at the heart of it all.As I got to the stairs, ready to go down, I noticed something move from the corner of my eye."Adam."I stopped and turned to where the voice came from. I saw Maximus standing there. He stepped in front of me, his face serious, his eyes sharp. He w

She appeared serene, but I knew it was an illusion. She was still plagued with nightmares. I had gotten up more than once to her shaking in her sleep and mumbled words that made no sense. That thought turned my blood to ice.Elizabeth turned a little and buried her face in my chest. I held her a bit tighter and then slipped out of bed gently. She didn’t stir.I dressed quickly. My body was worn out but my mind was as sharp as it had ever been. Today was the day I would get the answers I needed.By the time I entered the sec

  • Engage To The Wrong Mafia Boss   Chapter 89

Adam's POVI first noticed it in the little things — pauses, misplaced objects, an extra beat spent staring into space. Elizabeth had always been sharp, from her calculated endeavors to her scalpel-sharp mind. But recently, there was something different. She would reach for her food but then stop, narrowing her eyes as though she were aware that something just wasn’t right. Then she’d shake her head and make herself eat, though her appetite was sporadic. On some nights, she would eat an entire meal in minutes. On other nights, she hardly ate at all.And then came the confusion. She would forget things, the little things at first. Where she had left her phone. If she had answered a message〕. Then it escalated. Whole conversations fell from her mind. She repeated the same questions, even within minutes of one another.Initially, I told myself it was just stress. Pregnancy was complicated on the body, and Elizabeth had enough on her plate. However, I was not someone who disregarded my gu

Elizabeth's POVThe first time it happened, I wrote it off as nothing but exhaustion. I had screamed my fucking head off at that disappearing figure in the mirror.I caught a glimpse of a mirror today while fitting in brushing my hair before bed. I took the lamp off, and then turned back, and I swear my reflection didn’t follow.I blinked. There was nothing peculiar in the glass. Just me. My slightly uncombed hair, my weary gaze, my finger caught in mid-action.I exhaled and wrangled myself into laughter.Pregnancy fatigue. That’s all it was.But later that night, I was roused by whispers. My pulse quickened as I opened my eyes to stare at the darkness. It was faint, like a voice on the wind, low enough in pitch that the words couldn’t be made out.I turned my head slightly.Adam was lying next to me, his breathing slow and steady, deep in sleep.I held still, listening. The murmurs appeared to come in from one end of the room, close to the window. But when I changed, they went away.

Corinth's POVAfter a long pause, Adam finally sighed. He glanced over at Nico and Raphael and gave a small nod.“Take her to the infirmary.”Without another word, Raphael put a steadying hand on my back and guided me out.*******We had just stepped inside when the cool, sterile smell of disinfectant seeped into my nose. The room was silent, the air-conditioner purring softly.I sat down on the patient’s bed and Raphael stood by the door, arms crossed. But then, Nico stepped forward. His fingers curled and uncurled at his sides. He looked so serious doing it.Then he turned to Raphael.“I got it from here.”Raphael didn’t budge at first. He narrowed his eyes slightly.I could almost hear the silent judgment in his eyes. But after the longest moment, Raphael released a slow breath. He shook his head, muttered some words under his breath and turned and left. The door clicked closed behind him.And then, there was silence.I looked at Nico, who suddenly looked nervous. He cleared his th

After a few seconds of doubt one of them opened the door. The girl who had shut the door retreated slowly, her fingers shaking.Raphael didn’t wait. He put his arm around my waist for support and walked me toward the exit. My legs shook, but I willed myself to keep standing. As soon as we crossed the threshold, I felt a chill go down my spine when something in the back of the room moved quickly.A shadow lunged toward us.Before I had time to react, Raphael spun around, his reflexes a split second fast.He avoided the hit at the last moment, his hand lashed out and caught the wrist of the girl who dared try to shove us.He yanked her forward with a slightly calculated, completely nonchalant sort of movement, disrupting her center of gravity. She took a shocked, short shout, hands waving as she nearly fell downstairs. The other maids sucked in their breaths, their faces locked with terror. She teetered and almost caught herself

I leaned my back against the cold wall, listening to the footsteps approach.“Corinth,” called one of the maids, sharply, and taunting. “Come out now or we’re coming in.”I dug my fingers into my own skin, struggling to keep my breathing even. If I said nothing, maybe they’d go away. Maybe they’d get bored. But I wasn’t that lucky.Kicking the cubicle door, one of them made a loud bang. I jumped.“You deaf, whore?” another one hissed. “Open the damn door.”I hesitated. And if I took too long, they’d barge in. They had no boundaries.“Last warning.”I squeezed my eyes shut one moment, released a breath, then felt for the lock. As soon as I slid it open, the door flew inward, almost smacking me in the face.
