Chapter 1: A Place in this World

Megumi

Megumi Ai Park, that's my name, taken from my parent's idol from a girl band. Sorry to disappoint them though, I'm nowhere near that confident nor that good at singing.

My height's average for my age, my weight as well. 

I finger-combed my long and straight hair as I clipped my bangs. Just like most koreans, my natural hair's black and my skin tone's rosy pale.

I'm currently staying here at this neighborhood due to my father's job.

I watched outside the window and saw how the pile of snow completely gone and the flowers started to bloom, well, what do you expect? it's been weeks since winter has ended.

Ahh, spring, my favourite season of all time, it's the best... except for... school starts again tomorrow. Tomorrow, we all have to go to school again at 7.

While all the kids my age were out hanging out with their friends, gangs, boyfriends, classmates, me, I'm in front of my computer monitor surfing the net. I've been at it since last night, I suppose and it's around 5 in the morning by now...I've been watching kdramas and kpop music for a while now.

The sun's already up and about and I haven't gotten any sleep yet. Just another typical day in my life the way I want it to be. I'm really happy watching my baes on my screen. They're the only source of the butterflies in my stomach!

"I'm bored..." I stated as I proceed to the kitchen

I grabbed some foods in the refrigerator and some sweets and ate them at the kitchen, as I went back to my room, I bumped into my mother.

"Megumi? You're unexpectedly up early today even without school." My mother complemented

"Please don't mention school." I said, "I'm not ready to go to school."

"Oh come on, you're used to changing schools because of your dad's job."

Ah but it's true. It's also probably why I don't have as many friends. I keep moving and leaving. Even this neighborhood, I'm bound to leave one day anyway so what's the point of making friends?

"But you really surprised me, waking up early like that." 

I smirked and whispered, "More like, I'm just about to sleep."

"What?!"

I went inside my room as I yawned, "Nothing mom, see you."

I sat in front of my computer monitor staring blankly at my news feed... It really sucks being transferred to another school at my last year in high school. I bet all of them are already close and yet, I'm the lonely new girl there...

After a couple of hours staring blankly, I finally lay down my bed, slowly closed my eyes and instantly felt asleep...

I woke up due to someone's knocking on my door, I asked with closed eyes, "Mom, what is it...?"

My mom continued to knock as she politely said, "Megumi, Wake up! you have a concert to attend, right?" 

"What concert...?" I replied half-asleep

"Ahh, The Imperials, it's the band you've been dying to see, right?"

"Yeah, right..." I replied

A minute after I came to realisation, I quickly got up and panicked, "Mom, what time is it?!"

"3:40." 

Crap! I forgot about their concert! How can I even forget?! Whatever, I need to hurry up and catch up to the concert! It's The Imperials' concert, I can't afford to miss it again!

I went to the bathroom and had a quick bath, brushed my teeth while brushing my hair, grabbed my clothes and wore my light pink sweater and a white cute skirt along with my girly boots.

I didn't have time to fix my hair so I left it loose.

"Here, I packed everything you need, phone, wallet, concert ticket, etc." My mother said as she gave me my handbag

"Thanks mom." I kissed her cheeks as I waved goodbye, "I'm off!"

"Take care, and Megumi, please socialise with others."

I looked back to give my mom a gentle smile, "I... guess I'll try... next time!"

"Aigoo this kid."

I quickly ran as fast as I can to reach the train station and rode the train on my way to the concert's venue.

The train was really crowded that if I even moved a little, a lot of people would be bothered but it's one of the things I have to endure for my favorite band. I'm a fan girl all right. I'm a fan of diverse music and movies or kdramas as long as the plot's there!

after some minutes of the train ride, I went to the concert's venue by running.

This winter, I went to London for their concert but due to my bad luck, the tickets were already sold out when I came there so I won't let this spring end up like that as well!

I was so exhausted as I stopped in front of the concert's venue... only to see the sign, "CLOSED"...

They already started the concert... *sighs* I really have a terrible luck. Oh well, Better luck next time to me... again. Ahhh, this is annoying. How could I even forget about the concert tonight? That's just sad!

I guess, I'll just wait for another hour for the next train to arrive at the train station and well, just go home... I started walking away from the concert's venue...

But as I raised my head up, I saw a boy running towards my direction... I unconsciously stopped walking as he runs past me...

I turned around to look at him, from his looks, I guess he's around my age. 

As I took a closer look, my heart skips a beat. He was a complete stranger and yet, I felt this way towards him...?! I must be going crazy... I'm just flattered by his looks... I suppose...?

I don't know but I couldn't take my eyes off of him... He looked like such a mystery in that black cap.

And at that place in this world, the story begins.
