Passing through the corridor on the lower floor of the school, Gary could be seen walking in an average pace, with Henry sluggishly tagging behind, half-running in between to catch-up with Gary. Enthusiasm was written on Gary's face as he passed by students who were obviously heading the same direction as him. His destination, and that of Henry's, was to the music room."I don't know what reasons you have for wanting to join the music class, but is it all that necessary?" Henry's grumpy voice came out, few steps away from the music room."There's no reason in particular, I just want to try out something new..." Gary came up with a twisted reply."Something new? You've been a student of this school since Grade 9, yet you just remembered you need to try out something new... in final year?" Henry was curious as he spoke."How many times do you want us to go over this?" Gary sighed."Urrgh! I can't believe I'm quitting drama class just to stick up with your 'something new'." Henry sounded exasperated.Gary revealed a smile. "Remember you're gon gain from it," And that was the statement he needed to shut the bothersome Henry up.They eventually got into the music room, with Gary stepping in first. The room was already filled up with various students from the Grade 9 class down to the Grade 12 handling different musical instruments like the violin, the cello, the flute, etc. A drum set in a corner and the keyboard in another corner, greeted their sight.Immediately, eyes were fixated on them. They were all surprised to see two famous members of the basketball team joining the music class... in the last months of their final year? Not minding the intense attention he was receiving, Gary's eyes lingered around until his gaze landed on Ashley, who was sitting alongside Stephanie in the strings section. Seeing they were the only people he was familiar with, even if it's a bit, he decided to go over to them."Let's go sit over there," he told Henry who was standing behind him."Where?" Henry asked.Using his chin, he directed Henry to where he was talking about. On landing his gaze to where was directed, Henry froze. What the hell? He sure wasn't going to sit with Ashley... and Stephanie. Immediately, he decided to decline."I'm not—" He couldn't even complete his statement as Gary immediately dragged him to the place.Standing in front of the two girls, Gary spoke, "Hey," ...and immediately sat on empty space next to them. Henry, still in a bit of shock, didn't realize he was left standing."What are you guys doing here?" Ashley asked, jolting Henry from the shock. He stared deeply and realized Gary was seated already. His gaze landed on Stephanie who seemed unmoved, or maybe stunned. He took his face off, trying to decipher what Ashley asked."Uhm...""We're joining the music class," Gary immediately spoke, relieving Henry from the stress of explaining. It wasn't his idea to join after all. He quickly went to squat near Gary.Ashley was a bit stunned from Gary's reply. She got a grip of herself and spoke, "I never knew you had a thing for music,"Gary shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe I do,""Including Henry?" Ashley bent to look at the slightly nervous Henry. Without uttering a response, he nodded his head and looked away.Ashley shrugged her lower lips and relaxed back to her previous position. "Why didn't you guys join earlier then?""We just decided today," Gary quickly replied with a half-lie. He was getting tired of the seeming lengthy conversation because he wasn't much of a great talker. Wanting to end the conversation, he quickly asked a question which he already knows the answer to."Where's the teacher? Isn't he coming?"Ashley arched her eyebrows. "Have you forgotten? There's a staff meeting remember?""Oh... My bad." He turned his gaze to the front. That was an abrupt end to the conversation. But there was one thing, one person he was waiting for... the intern Ashley talked about. He needed to confirm if she was the person he had seen that day.Soon after, a lady dressed in a cream blouse and a grey pencil skirt walked into the room. Her dark hair shone elegantly through the rays of the light bulbs and her nervous-like majestic walk summoned a magnificent step — much to the infatuated students — with the aid of the pumps she wore. The students greeted her and she replied with a smile.Gary stared at her intensely... it was really that lady... the lady with the blue eyes. God! His instincts proved him right. He tried to take his eyes off her immediately but it didn't budge, instead intensifying the gaze. He could have sworn he caught her staring at him for some seconds... or maybe he was just hallucinating. Right, he was.The lady began addressing the whole class. "So, today I'll be taking charge of the class. There's a staff meeting going on, and I hope you guys don't mind this arrangement,"The students agreed with her and she continued, "Before we start, can you all simply call me Blue? I'm not used to the 'Miss' formality and I think it's better that way, right? At least we could initiate a better sense of familiarity..."The statement she made made the students immediately feel comfortable around her. She wanted to be addressed informally... like she was equal to being their teacher yet she wanted to maintain an informal relationship with them. That was great.Amongst those seated, a slim girl with a pair of recommended spectacles rose up in a fidgety posture. All eyes were fixed on her as they noticed her. The girl felt a bit nervous as she realized she was now the centre of attention. But, she composed herself and spoke. "Miss Blue... sorry, Blue. What if the teachers scold us because of it?"The question the girl asked was one that everyone else had in their respective minds... asides one person who was intensely immersed in staring at the lady. Yes, they wanted to respect her choice of being informal, but they were still in a formal setting.A moment of silence went by before the lady replied. "Then don't do it around the teachers." She gave a firm but precise answer, leaving the students relaxed."Let's get down to business." Her voice echoed through the room. "But it seems we have some new faces here. Can the new students please tell us each of your names and what instrument you play..."Starting with a blonde girl, the new faces began introduce themselves. After they mentioned the instruments they loved to play or would love to play, they would be grouped with the others in the different available sections.Eventually, it got to Gary's turn but his mind wasn't with them. A pinch on his hand snapped him out of the daze he was in. "Argh!" he yelped silently before casting his gaze on who launched a sudden attack to his hand... Henry."They're waiting for you," Henry quickly whispered to him before he got to say anything."What?"Instead of replying, Henry lingered his eyes to the front and he immediately followed the direction. His eyes hit the lady standing in front of the class, staring at him weirdly. Did he do anything wrong? Or did he say anything to... what was her name again?, he wondered. He furrowed his eyebrows, not understanding the situation on ground."Aren't you going to say something?" the lady directed a question at him.He looked stunned for some seconds. Was she talking to him? Putting his hand on his chest, he asked, "Who? Me?"The lady sighed. "Yes, you."Wait, she was indeed talking to him. That's so sweet... But, what was he going to say? He couldn't even remember a single detail of what she said.He turned to look at Henry, maybe he could help out. But the reaction he received from Henry proved he was in a bit of mess, not literally... He turned his gaze back to the lady and scratched his head awkwardly. "Sorry, I wasn't listening in,"The lady let an "oh!" sound before stating, "I need your name and the instrument you play,"'Name? Instrument I play? Oh crap!'"Gary... Uhm, I think the guitar..." He chose the guitar since he had a little idea about it."But you don't have it with you..."'I forgot we need instruments in here,'"I'll get it next class,""Okay, please move to the strings section. There's a spare guitar for you to use," the lady directed him and shifted her attention to the others.Lunch hour, around Twelve-thirty-something.Through the hall pathway, Blue strolled with two people into the school cafeteria, chatting casually with them. These two people were the interns she had begun acquainting with since the week before — a hottie named Eva and a foreigner named André. Eva was a biology intern while André was for French.Blue was by the right side as the three proceeded to the counter to get what they would eat. They each added a can of diet coke to their meals before they chose to sit in a corner of the cafeteria.Right from when they had gone into the cafeteria 'til now, the eyes of the various male students in the cafeteria had for once not left the group. The group seemed to be a normal one but who could tear his eyes off an attractive lady like Blue or a down-to-earth hottie like Eva? But the funny thing was the group didn't notice any of such stares as they chatted lightly while eating.Eventually, Eva was the first to notice the stares being

He began heading straight to his room but halted suddenly as he passed by the refrigerator which was near the entrance to the kitchen. Taking a few steps back, he opened the refrigerator and grabbed a bottle of water before initiating his former journey. The next day at school.Gary arrived earlier than the usual time he does. He got down from his bike, one he hadn't used in awhile, in the parking lot and took off the helmet on his head. After putting it on the bike's handle, he adjusted his hair and the strapped bag on his back as he began heading for the school building. On a closer look at his face, the bags under his eyelids wouldn't go unnoticed. This was due to the fact that he was sleep deprived. To the question on what he was doing up all night, well, teenagers never really have good reasons for not getting enough sleep most times.Passing by some students, he entered through the lit hall which leads to the various classes. He made a brief stop at the lockers near the staircase leading to the top floor as he opened his personal locker and took out a book from it which he had forgotten to take the day before. He then initiated back his motion and went up the stairs. On getting to the class which was presently occu

"Have you decided already, Blue?" Jacob asked Blue that Friday morning after exchanging pleasantries with her. It was the day that he had planned to take her out on a date so he was expecting a reply from her.Blue sighed silently, 'It looks like I don't have a choice,' she thought. She hadn't given it much thought but she definitely wouldn't want Jacob to feel bad if she declined. "It's just a date..." sounded in her mind."I'm in." she plainly told him. A wide grin escaped his face after she replied. He was obviously happy, and she? She didn't know how to react to it."So you mean you've agreed to go with me tonight?" he asked, still smiling. She only nodded to reply."You just made my day!" he said aloud, "I'll send you the details of the place this evening. See you later, Blue." and after speaking, he was gone.'I hope I did the right thing,' she thought and headed to the music room. The music lessons had been made available for that day due to some reasons
"Sweety, you need to wake up. You're going to be late." Mrs Alfred said as she tapped Blue on the lap continuously."I'm up, stop it, mom," Blue murmured, stretching her limbs while a yawn escaped her mouth. "Wait, late for what?" She immediately asked with a confused look on her face."For your internship! Now get your butt off the bed." Mrs Alfred let out, looking slightly irritated."Internship?" Blue stared at her questioningly. Then it suddenly dawned to her that she's supposed to be preparing for work. Instantly, she rushed into the bathroom, almost falling over in the process."Don't stay too long in there!" Mrs Alfred warned then strolled out of the room.Today was Blue's first day of music internship at Westride High School, which was commencing on the third week of the last term of the school year. After graduating and achieving a first-class degree in music at Breekles College some months back, she decided to go into the world of music tutoring. But first,
An unexpected knock on Mr Thomas' door interrupted his reading. With a frown, he wondered who it would be. He tried remembering if he had sent for any of the teachers but he didn't."Come in," he announced while trying to get back to what he was reading. The door opened silently and Blue walked in, a bit fidgety in her steps. "Good– morning, sir." she stuttered, with a tone of fear mixed in her voice, as she made her way to the receiving end of the table. He immediately looked up and realized who it was. "Miss Alfred, it's your first day and you're late," he said with a stern face, "Maybe you didn't check but it's twelve minutes past eight and you should have been here on or before eight." He declared openly."Err I'm sorry, sir. I– I was– caught in a little bit of traffic," she explained, feeling embarrassed for her tardiness. After speaking, she began praying inwardly that he wouldn't waste time in telling her to sit. She had already lost her composure due to the
Blue's first day with Mr Robinson, the music tutor, wasn't really going well — just as Sydney had forewarned. Mr Robinson's temper was totally 'unpredictable'. One minute he's boxed up, the other he's flaring up at every little thing. To be on his safe side, she kept on smiling whenever he dished out instructions to her — she eventually got tired of it!Mr Robinson seemed to be unmoved by his bad temper towards her, despite the fact that she hadn't used more than three hours with him.Presently at the lunch hour, instead of giving her a bit of free time, he chose to sit her down, asking questions upon questions just to know how much she knows about music. Luckily, she was able to tackle all the questions... leading to more being poured in. She couldn't deny the fact that she wasn't pleased with his actions. Did he forget it was her first day?'Why did they even assign me to such a man? This is insane. Makes me begin to regret why I'm here in the first place.' she thought

The sound of screeching tyres came to a halt right in front of the Alfred residence. A Mini Porsche came into existence and out came Blue from it with a small bag in her left arched arm.Taking her steps slowly, she saunters into the average duplex apartment through the light three-step stairs. In the balcony, she unbolted the door with the key which she had just retrieved from her bag.As she got in, she breathed in the fresh aroma of the place she was well familiar with... the place she calls home. Instead of waiting behind in the living room to relax a little, she decided to do something else. Though a bit weary, she manages to drag herself up the stairs to the top floor where her room is located. At least, she could have a lone time to herself without interference from anybody. As the now unlocked door to the room had been opened, she rushed straight to the bed and sinks into it, a soft moan escaping her rosebud lips. The view of the room was a typical lady's spec, elud
The next Monday.Around fifteen to twenty minutes past three.Inside the reading room of Westride High School, five figures could be seen sitting around a table, with several books placed on it. Silence ruled the air as the figures seemed to be deeply immersed in the books they were reading... Not all of them though. The figures were two males and three female counterparts — Gary, Henry, Laura and her best friends - Stephanie and Ashley. This arrangement commenced today after receiving an approval from the principal the week before, enabling them to use an extra thirty minutes in the school after school hours. Truthfully, it was to encourage an improvement in Gary's grades as the principal hardly ever approves of such. But, it came with a warning — "Don't cause havoc on any of the school properties!", the principal had told the group of teenagers who had a huge tendency of running wild.Seated in the middle of Henry and Stephanie, with Laura's sitting position in his lin
"Gary, wait up!" Henry yelled while running after Gary. Gary totally ignored him, picking up the pace faster as he was already a few blocks away from getting to their class."Look I'm sorry man," Henry said as he caught up with him, "I didn't mean to do that. But why did you throw such a fit? It's just Laura, isn't it?""But that still doesn't mean you could mention anything to her," Gary replied, still maintaining a fast pace."I already said I'm sorry," Henry made a pout as he pleaded again.Gary stopped and turned to look at Henry with a slight growl. Stupid ass, he thought. He had it in mind to voice out how stupid Henry was for sharing his problems with Laura, but he just relaxed the tension going through him, revealing a calm expression after."I'm also sorry for walking out on you like that. I just don't buy the idea of you telling Laura about my problem. You know this isn't the first time you're doing such. It makes me more upset by even mentioning it." He loo
