Closing the hole was much harder than opening it. First, the metal had to go back into the earth from which I moved it. Next, the dirt and grass had to stitch back together. It’s hard enough learning to control this, but Dax was watching me and, for some stupid reason, that put more pressure on me. My pack had seen this so many times they all dispersed, so that helped me. After I completed it. I was drained. Not only from the lack of sleep I had last night, but using all my energy to make that pool of melted metal. “Come on, I will show you to a guest room, unless you are returning back to your pack?” I asked as I walked by Dax. I didn’t wait or look to see if he was following me. I knew he would be. “I’m not leaving your side until this is over.” Dax said with the upmost certainty. Stopping in my tracks, I whipped around so fast that I almost smacked right into him. “I don’t need your protection, as I can clearly protect myself. I don’t need a white knight to come save and I don
Walking into the office, my mother was already in her spot, Silas was sitting on the couch with Von on the otherwise. We were the last of the group to arrive before the witches showed up. Sitting in the armchair, “Did you enjoy your mingling?” I asked Silas. He smiled at me. “Yes, we did. Thank you for your hospitality.” “Of cour-”POP! A bright light flashed, blinding us all for a few seconds before two people stood before us. There was a slight smoke that drifted around the room. Caughing back the tears, I studied them. They both looked like they were in their late teens. I didn’t trust their youthful appearance, as I’m sure they took a potion that has made them that way. They looked like hippies with their tied-dyed clothes, fringe laced shirt and boots. The male had shaggy, dirty blonde hair, and the lady had wavy long, light brown hair. All they needed was a blunt, and they basically stepped out of the 70s. “I apologies for the entrance. We decided to experience our youth aga
Dax signed and pinched the bridge of his nose as the sound got louder. “I’m so sorry, Sarah.” He whispered as soon as another blonde bimbo came bouncing down the stairs. Her boobs almost popped out of the crop top she was wearing. Her ass was already out, so not much to worry about there, but her camel toe was on full display. Was this really the kind of woman he was attracted to? This was the second girl I have seem drool over him that looked this way. He must have really slept around. “DAX!” she yelled again as she came running up to him. I will give him credit, he stopped her from jumping on him by holding out his arm, smacking her in the chest, and almost causing her to fall back. I would have loved to see that. “Daisy, this is my mate, Princess Sarah.” He immediately pointed me out to her. She looked at me with so much disgust. Her nose raised in the air as she folded her arms just under her chest, causing them to really pop out. “Mate?” she asked as her eyes ranked my body.
What surprised me was the smile that crossed Dax’s face. I don’t think I have seen him smile yet. His eyes lit up like a kid in the candy store. A plump lady waddled over to us. Her eyes were locked on Dax, but when I set my wine down, it clinked on the table and she noticed me. Her huge smile turned into complete shock as so realized we were on a date. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t realize you had company! I will just go!” She was about five feet in front of us by this point. “Verna! It’s okay, come say hi!” She looked rather nervous as she slowly made her way to the table. I could feel how sorry she was and how unsure. “Verna, this is my mate, Princess Sarah. Sarah, this is my aunt Verna!” He stood up and hugged her, but her eyes were locked on mine. I tried to give her a warm smile, but I think it came out as awkward. “P-princess? As in King Wyatt and Queen Nina’s daughter?” I stood up as well and extended my hand. “Yes ma’am. I am their daughter. It is a pleasure to meet you.” Sh
“Oh, Amore.” Dax moved his body so his hand was flattened right by my head and he was leaning down so he was eye level with me. “Don’t cry.” “I’m not crying! I am frustrated and embarrassed for telling you that! My stupid body’s reaction is to cry. I’m not sad…” I lied through my teeth and he knew it. “Sarah…” He other hand cupped my cheek, while his thumb wiped away the tear that ran down. “I was surprised you told me that and surprised by it. I am so happy to hear that though. The thought of knowing another man’s lips touched these perfect lips was unbearable.” His thumb caressed my lip as I let my mouth part. His thumb stuck to cause my lower lip to roll down slightly. He was fighting himself to not just take me. He was so aroused that it was hard for me to concentrate. “Yeah, it is unbearable to think about other person’s lips on your mate.” His hand froze as he let that sink in. He was angry at my comment. I’m sure he is angry over the whole situation. “Maybe one day I will
Our plane landed in the northern part of Venezuela. As we ventured into the city, everything was mind-blowingly beautiful. Lucious colors embellished the fabrics that decorated not only the people but their structures. We stayed on the outskirts of the city, in the more venerable population, so we didn’t stick out as much or draw attention to us. Jason and Dax walked on either side of me like bodyguards. They lead the way since I was too occupied taking in the new culture before me. We walked all the way around the city will we got to more dense forest. Birds were flying in every direction as they enhanced the welcoming to the most dangerous part of our journey. Dax was speaking with someone in Spanish about renting a vehicle to get to our cabin. “This place is beautiful.” Jason said to me. “It is…” I replied vaguely. “What is it?” “Do you feel the darkness, though?” “I do. It is like it is hovering in the forest, waiting to latch on to you.” The forest was thick with vege
“Jason!” I said breathlessly. My heart started pounding in my chest as I knew I couldn’t wait to see what the morning would bring. “Okay, we can go, but you must be VERY quiet! Regardless of what you see, you must not give away our position, understood?” “YES! Now, let’s go!” I whispered. I started climbing down the tree without waiting to see if he was even coming with me. I was going with or without him. My feet hit the wet earth with a silent thud. It was on instinct that I kept crouched down and barely rose above the bushes. We brought our wolves to the front to help us smell out where he located at. The colors of the forest got instantly became more vibrant as the little details stood out. Staying low, we weaved through the brush. The smell of Jason’s blood got stronger and stronger. Dax had found a trail of blood on some leaves. It started as small drops but became more puddles, as it seemed they had rested for a minute. A light had flickered ahead between some trees. It t
We had exactly three days until the next full moon to get back to Jason before he woke up and possibly rejected Mila. Not only do we have fully days walk and a day’s walk back, that means we have exactly one day to find out what we need. It’s not like we can put this off since they know we are here. “What are you thinking?” Dax whispered in my ear. The girls had gone inside and taken Jason with them to put him in a bed. Dax and I stayed outside and decided to sleep by the fire. We were wolves, after all. They only had one pillow to spare, so our heads were on the pillow, but our bodies were on either side. “We don’t have a choice. We can’t wait three days and hope he comes out of it and then go on our mission. We can’t put him before it.” I hated saying it. “We can run in our wolf form and get there in half the time.” Dax suggested. “Will that not give away our position if we are running full speed? That’s not exactly going under the radar.” “I have a feeling it may not matter

Damian POVI watched her perfect ass walk to the bathroom. I had to hide a laugh as her legs were still shaking. I needed a minute. Sitting on the couch, my mind went over the last few hours. I wasn’t sure what happened but when I saw Dax’s ghost, my heart sank. Then he had the little boy but the worst part was that Sarah wasn’t shocked to see him. She knew he was there. She must have talked to him. I tried to keep the doubt from filling me that she would have chose him. “Damian.” A voice I thought I’d never hear again was clear as day.My head instantly shot up. I was in complete disbelief to see Dax standing in front of me. My mouth opened a few times but nothing came out.”Wa-”“The Moon Goddess is allowing me a five minute visit. I came to tell you that she is all yours. She has accepted I died and she loves you with her whole heart. I was never meant to live through this. This was always how it was suppose to work. She saved you as much as you saved her. It’s cruel how things end
Our bodies froze as I pushed the knife in until I felt his blood run down my hand. Twisting the knife counter clockwise at 90 degrees, I made sure he wouldn’t survive the tree days it would take to suck his soul out. “NO!!” Astra yelled out as she watched Grant fall off me, holding the knife. His eyes landed on her as blood seeped from his eyes, nose and mouth. Kicking him away from me, I grabbed my side breathing heavily. “Give it up. You are finished!” Astra’s eyes went straight back as she chanted something before lifting her head up and screamed. Black smoke formed between us as a sort of bird manifested in front of me. It looked like a Raven but beefed up. Maybe more like a dragon but either way, it’s beady red eyes were focused on me. I reacted on instinct as my shield went up right as it shot something white at me. It was like little daggers hitting my shield so hard that it caused me to fall to the ground, under the pressure. The creature didn’t stop it’s attack. T
I had no idea what to do. Running back into the hut, Maverick’s laugher became background noise. Sliding on my knees, I skidded to a stop, right in front of my mom. Her body was cold as ice. “MOM!” I yelled. Shaking her, she did not respond. I didn’t even think before pulling my hand back and slapping her arm across the face. Nothing. She didn’t move or even flinch as my hand made contact with her body. I looked frantically around, for anything to help. My eyes landed on Dax’s name. Glancing over quickly at Astra, she was still saying an chant. As quietly as I could, I tiptoed my way over to the shelf and uncorked Dax’s vial with shaking hands. The smoke shot out of it. Before it knew it, a ghostly figure that reselmed Dax stood in front of me. “You have to stop her!” Dax looked at me with urgency. “How? What do I do?” My heart ached for him. “I could knock the cauldron over but she could just pick it back up again!” “You can do this. You need to think. Your mother and you joined
Everything had darken as it looked like not a single ray of sun was hitting these trees. Cages of monkeys were hanging from the branches just above my head. They were thrashing around with a crazed look in their eyes. My heart kept breaking as we slowly walked deeper into the heinous environment. Baskets lined the path with a variety of items. Some where of insects and some where of different spices or herbs. The smell is what caused me the most discomfort. Rotten flesh or decaying fecal matter is so potent that I not even sure it will come out of these clothes. As the path opened up, there was three huts in a half circle at the end of the path. A firepit at in the middle with a cauldron resting on top of it. Purple smoke was going straight up through a small opening in the trees, creating a dome shape in the canopy. “Let’s continue the tour, shall we?” Maverick gestured to the first hut on the left. Glancing behind me, the trees had closed around the path we just took as it was no
Staying on my hands and knees, I slowly waved my arm out as I scooted forward. That stupid chair should be here, somewhere. Finally, my fingers grazed passed the cold metal as the boat shifted to the left. My stomach did a little twist that raised all the hairs on my body. I better not get sea sick in here! Picturing what the chair looked like, it would be easy to just melt the metal into one solid rod that I could sculpt. It was hard doing this in the dark but I was able to heat the metal up enough that the chair was now bent in a little cube. It was slow work for sure but using on hand, I was able to squeeze it together and pull out until it was shaped like a spear. While the metal was still hot, I extended my fingernail and started putting in grooves in a spiral down the rod so it looked like one giant drill bit. Unfortunately, I had to wait for it to cool before I could see if it was even going to work. With my other hand on the wall, I moved it around until I felt the crack of
“What is that?” Tom whispered quietly as he got close to examine the bite mark. “A vampire bite.” I said, casually. All three men and two wolves turned their head to look at me. “W-what?” Tom and Maverick asked at the same time. “She wouldn’t tell us what we wanted to know so we got…creative.” I shrugged. “By turning her into a vampire?” Tom asked. “One one vampire’s bite can make a change like this…” Maverick trailed off. “Winner winner, chicken dinner.” “You-you intentionally turned her into a vampire?” Tom asked, appalled. “Technically, no. Von is newly immortal and most not understand self control but my heart isn’t breaking for that bitch. I’ll kill her before her transformation is complete.” “Fucking ice princess….” Tom said as he pulled her shirt back down. “I’ll go get the food.” Maverick muttered as he walked into town. “Why ice princess?” I laughed as I walked to a tree and sat down. “You are literally choosing to be here. You could easily go invade her comp
“Shit!” Cynthia whispered as she pulled me to the floor. Should have known there was a security system. “Oh bummer…” I obviously faked concern. “What does Damian even see if you?” Cynthia said through clinched teeth. “Not much to look at and you have a mouth that gets you into trouble.” “Not sure what to tell you.” I smirked as the front door opened. “WHO’S IN HERE?” A voice boomed. The smell was human and as I peaked out from behind the clothes, he wasn’t going to chase us very far. Apparently, Cynthia made the same observation. As the police officer walked in, we made our way to the front. Sprinting quickly, we ran out the front door. “HEY! GET BACK HERE!” He bellowed. His breathing was already heavy as he exited the door. We were already in the woods and in a full sprint by the time he even hit the grass. “Burg… (deep breath) i-in progress… (deep breath) send-send help…” is all we heard. We were far enough that his voice became a whisper to us, but we kept running in case a d
“Not sure how to make that much clearer for you!” Cynthia looked at me with hate-filled eyes. It was all I could do to stare back. She had to find a human to sacrifice to prove her loyalty to Astra? Well shit. We weren’t going to fully break her. I doubt any amount of torturing will make her give us what we want. Maybe we can use this to our advantage? Von was looking at me, waiting for the go ahead, and Cynthia had put her head down as her breathing leveled out. “What are you thinking?” Damian mind-linked me. “She isn’t going to break. We are going about this wrong. It would be the same if I commanded you to not speak. You wouldn’t be physically able to say anything to whomever.” “Hmm.” “We need to change tactics. Let her think she is giving us bad information and use her to take us to them. We can’t wait for the eclipse. That’s too long if they have already cut mom and dad with the knife. Just follow my lead.” I said to Damian. I really hope this works. “What if I told you
