Chapter Two: Something Suspicious

I am currently outside the school, standing next to a stall selling a variety of street foods and

chills.Delicious! It makes me drool.

"Hello Manong! I'm going to buy this, including this and that." I said politely while pointing those

foods that I wanted.

"Noted young lady, just wait for a couple of minutes." He said with a smile in his face before

arranging the ones I bought.

While waiting for Manong, I looked around. Wait, it looks like something strange, it wasn't like

this before. The wind was too strong and it was very cold on the skin. Then the color of the

environment gradually faded, and most of all, why did it seem I feel like I'm going to faint.

"M-manong, d-do you feel something w-weird?" I stuttered when I ask the vendor

"I don't feel anything weird," he replied

"T-the w-wind a-and —–"

I didn't finish what I'm going to say because I suddenly gripped on the side of Manong's stall

due to weakness

'Fuck! Why am I weak, I'm not that hungry. ' I whispered in my mind.

"Are you all right?" Manong asked worriedly as he helped me.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." I said while adjusting my posture before facing Manong.

When I met manong, everything suddenly changed. I immediately turned away from him before

looking around and then I felt it. The wind was no longer blowing strong and cold. The color of

the environment and me were normal.

“What happened?” I asked out of nowhere.

"It's all just beginning, Quinley." Manong said seriously behind me.

I got goosebump in may nape because of what the salesman said, so I immediately stepped

away from him before turning forward.

"W-what d-do you m-mean, Manong." I asked stuttering as I stared into his blank eyes.

But something seemed strange, because as I watched Manong's eyes, his emotions suddenly

changed.

Exactly when I hear a snap of a finger.

"What happened ija? Are you okay.Here's your food,eat it right away. You may have gone hungry,

that's why you almost faint." Manong said continuously as he gave me the plastic.

"Huh?" I said with confusion while getting what I bought.

"Hey, don't study too much kid! Many people gone crazy because of that." he remind to me as he

received my payment.

I wanted to get pissed because of the last thing Manong said but confusion and fear prevailed

over me because of the first thing he said.

‘Which one is just starting out? And wait, I didn't tell him my name. '

And why, how did that happen. In just one snap, his eyes changed immediately. I can't help but

think that the vendor was under mind controlling earlier.

But it's very impossible, were already in 20th century.For sure, ghosts, evil spirits, fairies, and

magics are no longer exist.Wait, does it really exist?

'But what I saw and heard bothered me.'

I was daydreaming walking away from the streetfood cart. I didn't look back and I just continued

walking. The school is only two streets away from my house so I just walk it every day. It's okay

with me tho, somehow I can also save money and will not be too burdensome to my

grandparents.

"What the! I have so many problems, then Manong added too." I whisper into the air as I stopped

walking.

I looked to my right as I stopped to walk. Of course, there was a park between the two streets I

was going to pass. I walked again to an empty bench there. I sat down first before putting the

food I bought next to me and then looked in the environment.

"Haaaay!" I sigh deeply.

It's really nice to hang out here. It's a very beautiful and attractive view, all the colors of the

environment match to the sunset. It calms my mind and heart also.

Fortunately, there are few people right now so the ambiance here is very relaxing.

"But why i feel sad?" I asked in absence.

"Its really sad, because you're not in the kingdom." answer of who.

"What the fu—!" I shout out in shock.

I turned to the source of the voice and was shocked to see someone seating beside me.

'Wait I don't have anyone next to me ah.'

I blinked my eyes a few more times to confirm that I had someone next to me, and yes there

was. But it was busy eating.Wait,is that—

"Is that my food?" I ask.

"Ah eh yes, I'm sorry. Can I just have them, sister. I'm starving." he replied.

"You've almost finished the food you're eating and now you're just going to ask for it" I said with

sarcasm.

I just shook my head to the kid beside me, who I don't know where it came from. I watched the

boy eating his food, he was well dressed, he looked taken care of because of his appearance

and he didn't look like a beggar.

'Hays, do thieves have a new modus operandi now?'

"Wait sister, I'm not an asset of thieves." he suddenly said it.

Wait, did I speak? Am I thinking too much and I didn't realize I said it louder. But no, I didn't

speak. What the fuck, is this kid a mind reader.

"What did you say?" I asked him in shock.

"Oops! Did I say something." he answered lightly.

"Yes kid, you said something. I'm not talking to you but suddenly you're talking and you exactly

answer the question in my mind." I said.

"Ah! I'm not sure, sister." smiling at this remark.

"Like before, if you hadn't spoken, I wouldn't have known I had someone next to me." my

continuation.

"Ah that's right, sorry sister." He apologized out of his nose.

"But you said something earlier, about the kingdom." I added.

"No sister, forget it." child's answer

"Tsk!"

"All right sister, I'm going home. Thanks for the food!" he said

I just nodded to him as he got up from his seat. Then I faced the environment again, when I realize something ...

"Kid, how are you-"

My question was cut off when I could no longer see the child behind and around me.

'Shit! There is something suspicious and that is not funny.
