A Journey of no return

ANN WITTY'S POV

I walked into the locker room, the emptiness of the room pierced my soul. The bed sheet that once covered my daughter's body now lay cold and untouched. Tears strained from my eyes while my wolf whispered,

"Where could you be?" My heart filled with sorrow, regret, and grief.

The memories of watching her through the cameras ran in my mind while they hunted me like a ghost at night. I held my head as my wolf beat me with words

"You have failed to be a good mother, so harsh that you missed every opportunity to show love and kindness," I wailed bitterly,

"Yeah, I'm aware," I responded sadly, wiped my tears, and walked over to the bookshelf to see the quotes Elena had written for herself and began to read every word.

It was all reminder of her struggle, her hopes to find a good mate, and her dreams to be in a happy home again, tears clouded my eyelids,

"I'm sorry…, Elena…I'm deeply sorry," I stammered, words couldn't let off my lips.
