Rayne’s POV

The discovery of the chef’s body sends my mind into overdrive. Someone from within the palace had carried his murder out. Possibly to cover their tracks. “Have we invited our attackers into our home?” I asked Zen. He has been keeping quiet lately. I know he is struggling since Adam’s murder. He and Cooper had known each other for decades. But I need him now more than ever.

We went back to Nathan and Dawson’s office. They were now convinced the head chef was involved with Summer’s kidnapping. “Someone must have been worried about him talking, so they killed him.” I speculate.

“How many men did the Wolf Council bring with them?” Dawson asks.

“Nearly two hundred according to the Council Member I was talking to yesterday.” I responded. “But I actually think it’s more like three hundred.”
