Exelle

...

"What kind of trick is this? A déjà vu?"

I cast a bored gaze at the two people standing side by side in a place where there isn't a soul around. Beside them is a grass wall, one of the structures forming the hotel's maze garden. And due to the height of this grassy wall, it obscures the view of the two people on the other side.

I stood there silently.

My gaze was as deep as the night itself, contrasting with the lively and brightly lit atmosphere of the hotel surrounding me.

Feeling the cold night breeze, I tightly grasped the glass of red wine I brought with me. I sneered as I slowly blinked my eyes as if I were about to fall asleep. I didn’t feel like engaging with the 'two,' but seeing them here, intimately holding each other like that, didn't help me at all—it just made me sick.

"Tsk. I knew I’ve been fooling myself with my fucking hopes," I murmured, clicking my tongue as I turned around to leave the place. I could feel the heaviness of my steps, but I still managed to

Each step I took made a distinct sound as my shoes touched the floor. My footsteps echoed in the hallway, but it was only me in this part of the Mondregal mansion, where my office is located."Then should we contact the Millers, Miss Kim?" Mrs. Holland asked, but before I could reply, my tongue froze, and I paused in my tracks.I couldn't help but stare at the figure from a short distance away, holding a bouquet of roses in one hand. His back was carefully leaned against the cream-painted wall of the hallway as he delicately sniffed the flowers he brought close to his nose. His black hair, neatly combed, had a few strands that danced with the breeze coming through the open window.I almost smiled at the scene, but I froze when a memory suddenly surfaced.*** "He's greedy, Xiellenna. He may not look like it, but he was born a schemer," Hans's serious expression met my

It was a crescent-shaped island with man-made extensions, featuring a castle-like building on top of a hill, resembling a fairytale setting from storybooks."Wow~wow~wow. Mom! Dad! It has a castle on the hills!" the seven-year-old Xiellenna excitedly said again before turning around to face her smiling parents. "Oh my~look over there! Amazing.""Our baby must really like it," Lillian said before embracing her approaching child. She gently stroked her daughter's hair and gave her a kiss. Her daughter giggled and nodded."Yup, mama. And as I remember from Rylie before I lost my memories when I was ten, she told me she needed a heart. But that doesn’t mean that if she had successfully killed me back then, she would have gotten what she wanted.Because if I really died when she pushed me down the stairs, she still wouldn’t have been able to use my heart for a transplant. And we were just kids back then. And currently thinking about her whereabouts, I’m not sure if Raellina is still alive."Mama, she looks like Rylie!"I remembered a vague memory of mine, back when I first saw Raellina on the Lena Islands. I thought she was Rylie back then, but my papa corrected me about it, and they even asked me to keep it a secret. During

It felt strange because she wasn’t reading from EXellene Royale, but instead, she was discussing information about the five families that govern the NCI.Audrey coughed lightly as I smiled and nodded slightly."Mondregal is the family whose NCI headquarters is currently located on Lena Islands. A Philippine-European NCI family. More importantly, this is where our family, the Ryans, work for," Audrey continued and then moved on to the next family. "Next is the South Korean Wang family. Third Person's PoV---Dark's gaze remained fixed on the sleeping figure of Exelle. He watched the young woman as he stood by the side of her bed. Behind him was Audrey, nervously biting her lips."I shouldn't have given her that video," Dark's ears twitched as he heard his cousin speak. The sadness and concern were evident in her voice as her eyes seemed to lose their strength, quietly staring at Exelle. But he just shook his head. "She still has the right to know what really happened to Samara," and that's the truth. No matter how much they tried to hide what truly happened, Exelle would find out sooner or later. Aside from the fact that the video was an irrefutable piece of evidence for Samara's death, it was also one of the few pieces of evidence they had against Riguera."We can no longer be complacent against the Black

Her tone was so arrogant that it made me want to run over and yank her hair off her head. She's infuriating me, but honestly, I have no idea what's going on.Because everything around me is darkness. As I opened my eyes while listening to the strange noise around me that I couldn’t explain, all I could see was endless darkness. It was so cold and eerie. It was also so quiet, yet every now and then, I would hear a sound spreading around me. The noise echoed and lingered until it faded into the distance, only to be followed by another unknown sound. It repeated over and over again. At first, it was like the drip of water, then the sound of someone being slapped, followed by something breaking, and then something hard falling. The mi

Exelle...When I opened my eyes, I saw a figure of a man sitting in front of me. But upon recognizing who it was, I frowned and shot him a hateful glare."You f*ckin' bastard!" I yelled at him, but he didn't respond.I tried moving my body, only to discover that my wrists were tied behind me. As I struggled, the metal shackles on my ankles and wrists clanged noisily against the cold cement floor.I groaned as pain shot through my wrists from the struggle. It infuriated me so much that I didn't even think about the danger I was in because my anger at seeing his face took over. I anxiously looked around, realizing we were in a room with no windows, just a door, and a large mirror on one wall.It was the kind of room you often see in dramas and movies. The one that looks like an interrogation room."Don't waste your time struggling. You won't escape from

"The moment of truth has come, when fears were set aside, just like when we choose to fight against them instead. The truth is, I’ve come a long way just to reach this peak that we’ve talked about, and to call it success. This building has been here to witness the ups and downs of my life since I came back to this place, from the grains of sand and un-mixed cement that hadn't yet formed the solid foundation we now call walls and floors, into this majestic tower that now battles the heights to reach the sky," I paused, pressing my lips into a thin smile before letting out a soft laugh. That small laugh echoed through the hall, amplified by the speaker connected to the mic I was holding. The unique sound of my laughter traveled across the space.I noticed ripples forming on the surface of the white wine in my glass. It was like a disturbance in the silence, but it was calm, almost inviting. It moved in sync with the subtle movements of my body, and then stopped momentarily, matching the

Third Person's Point of ViewDark clicked his tongue to openly express his dissatisfaction, his gaze sharp as he stared at Hans, who, in turn, was also staring back at him.The frown on the young man's face deepened when Hans simply passed him by after Exelle allowed him into the mansion. Brimming with his usual intimidating aura, Dark strode along to follow Exelle and Hans. They passed through the open living area where Dark and Exelle had spent time together before Hans’ unexpected arrival.Unlike before, when the place was dimly lit, with light sneaking through the slightly opened veranda doors, now the space was illuminated by the bright lights from a large chandelier hanging from the ceiling, near the staircase leading to the upper floors. The sound of their footsteps broke the quiet, followed by the creak of a door opening not far from the main hall, where the living area and staircase were located.“Get inside,” Exelle’s soft voice cut through the silence as she led the three o

Third Person's PoVThere was a faint smile on her face as she watched the argument between her two friends, the ones she had last seen a year ago. Her attention was then caught by someone's presence beside her, which caused her smile to widen, turning from a simple curve to something more genuine. Lei, who was sitting beside her stepbrother, Pierce, on the sofa, was still engaged in an argument with him."Tsk, tsk, Pierce. You're so slow," Lei whispered to her stepbrother, Pierce, while stealing a glance at the man Exelle was talking to.If you think about it, Lei couldn't really say anything against that man. Aside from being handsome and having a well-built physique, it was undeniable that he had a certain magnetic aura about him. He was someone filled with a dark presence, but for some reason, that aura could also draw anyone in, as if they were naturally pulled toward him by an invisible force. Thinking about it, Lei couldn't help but form a lopsided smile before giving her brothe

Third Person's Point of View"It's still the same?"A question was heard from Dark as he stood in front of a bookshelf, pulling out a file folder and opening it. He did not glance at his cousin, who was sitting seriously on the sofa in the receiving room. That room was part of Audrey's office, and the only way into it was through the door of her office."I... think so."In the way the man spoke, one could notice a slight hesitation. It was as if he was unsure whether his words would be the right ones to say. Only then did the young woman glance at him, her eyes noting the expression on her cousin Dark's face."You haven't met her since you came back here, have you?" Audrey asked again with a raised eyebrow. When she didn’t hear a reply from her cousin, she merely shook her head.Audrey sighed before placing the file folder back on the shelf.Dark, with his head lowered, waited silently in his seat, and after a moment, he looked up at the ceiling, suddenly lost in thought. His mind was

Third Person's POVExelle remained silent as she watched Dark's unreadable face under the fluorescent light. Her gentle expression returned, unlike the unusual look she had earlier while watching Alexis. Her lifeless eyes, seemingly exhausted, dropped their gaze back to Dark, as if nothing had changed upon seeing Alexis again and knowing that Rylie might already be dead.It was as if her gaze told him she wasn’t bothered by Alexis’s miserable state or Rylie’s death.Exelle simply stared back at Dark, who was still holding her hand. She didn’t know what to say, unable to decipher what he was trying to convey. His head was bowed, and his trembling hand, still holding hers, seemed afraid to let go. Since she couldn’t fathom what was going on in his mind, she stayed quiet, waiting for his next move.“I feel like I’ll lose her once I let her hand go…”Those were the heavy words echoing in Dark’s head.At this moment, the two figures—a man and a woman—stood motionless in the quiet, wide hal

Third Person's POVThe inside of some rooms along the long, white corridor was noisy. Some people were laughing while talking to themselves, and others were screaming loudly for reasons unknown. The strange voices, which alternated between happy and agonized, felt oddly misplaced in the building's naturally gloomy atmosphere. In the middle of the hallway, a woman walked with confidence. She wore a creamy-colored turtleneck sweater that hugged her chest, arms, and entire upper body. The outfit was paired with a black pencil skirt that extended past her knees, featuring a long slit on the left side, revealing her snow-white, smooth skin beneath the fabric. Her heels produced a ticking sound each time they struck the cemented floor.Behind her followed a man with a serious expression etched on his handsome face. He silently stared at the woman in front of him, his gaze fixed on the movements of her shoulders, covered by a black blazer. Though his face was firm and stoic, anyone who saw h

Third Person's POV"Antonio, try to move it here and then to that side over there," the tall and voluptuous woman in her late thirties said to the man holding a box with both of his hands, standing in front of the open door. She pointed to the place where the two boxes the man was holding should be placed with her index finger, which he immediately followed.Behind her, the man was simply leaning his back against the hallway wall, facing the door to the room where the woman had earlier given instructions to the man. Dark silently watched the woman's expressionless face as she did her work, keeping his arms crossed over his broad chest. The storage room where the woman was working was brightly lit with fluorescent light, contrasting against its walls painted in ash and concrete colors. The room was filled with boxes containing unused items, which is why the temperature inside was moderate enough to preserve the items hidden within. Some parts of the room were dusty, making Exelle raise

Third Person's POVThe young man sitting next to Exelle furrowed his brow as he remembered that her wounds were still not fully healed. He almost forgot about it because the young woman was rushed to the hospital a few days after she woke up due to an infection in the wound on her shoulder caused by the gunshot wound to her body. There were no large hospitals on the island, and the journey would take half a day due to the distance from the island to a district hospital in Lubang. Because of this, he didn’t take her there when he first found her. The chances of her survival would have been shortened if he had her travel from Cabra to Lubang, which would have taken almost half a day by water, and the journey time would have increased further because he would have had to travel from the port of Lubang to the district hospital. The wound was not noticeable either because it was covered by the fabric of her clothing. Even the supposed stain of blood on her clothes wasn’t visible, as it mig
