MARIANNE

"What is this fool doing?" I muttered to myself, watching Tony rip the sheets off Sharon’s body, grab her by the hair, and declare she had to die.

I scoffed. "Well, let's see who dies first." There was no fear for Sharon’s safety; she was a fourth-degree black belt, trained from childhood by her late father, who had been a master in the art. I’d dug into her background thoroughly before hiring her, and I knew she could handle herself if things turned violent. None of her clients had ever dared to treat her badly, and for good reason.

Sending her to Tony’s house had come with no reservations. She was resourceful, strong, and more than capable of taking care of herself. If she decided to beat Tony to a pulp in order to save herself, I wouldn't have any complaints. I was already more than pleased with what she had accomplished so far.

Watching her seduce Tony in the bathroom and seeing him fall for her tricks, I felt a pang of shame that a man like him had ever been my h

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   WHAT DID I DO?

MARIANNE Mildred's body began to drift away, her form growing smaller as my vision blurred and my arms fell still. A deep numbness settled over me, and for a moment, I welcomed it, the darkness closing in. I shut my eyes, surrendering briefly, and then a face appeared in my mind—Troy’s. The memory was sharp and vivid, cutting through the haze. “I am your husband, Troy Stanford.” I remembered the first time I met him, after waking up disoriented in the hospital. His steady gaze and calming voice had anchored me, though I barely knew who he was. "We’re here to get married," I recalled, almost smiling at the memory of standing before the courthouse, Troy staring at me in stunned disbelief. That look in his eyes—it was confusion, maybe even anger, all mixed together. He hadn’t expected me to come up with something so crazy, but somehow, we’d found ourselves entangled in this pact. His voice echoed in my head, breaking through the fog. “I’ll stay by your side until the very end.”

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   I MISSED YOU

TROY Something suddenly felt off. The four men in front of me were far from the formidable threat I had anticipated. Two of them were in wheelchairs, frail and haggard, while the other two appeared unharmed, at least physically. Yet the expressions on their faces betrayed a different story—a mix of helplessness, fear, and a shadow of regret that didn't quite sit right with me. I kept my gun trained on them, as I struggled to piece together what exactly had happened. And then, Astrid's face twisted with rage, his voice a low, venomous growl as he spat, “Tell that monster you call a wife to run as fast as she can. Because the moment I catch her, I swear, I'll tear her apart.” A cold fury washed over me as I leveled my gaze at him, warning, “Threaten my wife one more time, and I will not hesitate to tear you apart. I dare you.” His words had stirred a flicker of hope within me—hope that Marianne had outwitted these men, whatever they’d planned for her. But there was still no clar

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   DO YOU LIKE WHAT YOU SEE?

MARIANNE I could not hold back anymore. Perhaps I would regret my actions, but that could come later. At this moment, I wanted Troy. I would not deprive myself of the pleasure of being in my husband’s arms. I would savor every second of the time we had left. However, Troy suddenly pulled back from me, his eyes wide with confusion. Was he about to reject me? My heart pounded in my chest, and I swallowed hard as he took another step back. I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. "I'm afraid if I don't pull away now, I’ll lose control," he panted, his voice strained. "I’m scared of pushing you away from me." Relief flooded through me as I realized the implications of his words. I smiled, and he mirrored it with his own grin. "Are you a virgin, Troy?" I teased, trying to lighten the mood. He raised his brows, looking amused. "Are you serious?" "Is that a yes?" I asked, arching an eyebrow. He scoffed, "Do you really want to know?" I chuckled, folding my a

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   GOOD NEWS

MARIANNE After a quick shower, I laid beside Troy, feeling his warmth against me as I drifted off into a deep, peaceful sleep. When I woke up in the morning, the bed was empty, with no sign of Troy. I stretched my hand across the cool sheets, wondering if last night had all been a dream. A soft laugh escaped my lips, realizing that the scattered evidence—my clothes tossed on the floor and the fact that I was naked—proved otherwise. I freshened up, choosing a sleek, fitted white dress that hugged my figure and made me feel both powerful and beautiful. As I walked out of my room, a mouth-watering aroma filled the air, leading me to the kitchen. My stomach grumbled, and I found myself smiling as I spotted Troy, focused on making breakfast. Without a second thought, I wrapped my arms around him from behind, resting my head against his back as I whispered, "Good morning, hubby." He turned with a grin, his eyes warm as they met mine. "Good morning, Cherie. I was hoping to serve yo

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   HOW DOES IT FEEL?

MARIANNE One hour later, Troy opened the door of his car for me, and I slid in. He got in beside me, his face taut with frustration. "I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that you risked your life to save Mildred's. What the hell were you thinking, Marianne?" Troy demanded, his voice laced with both anger and worry. Seeing the fierce expression on his face, I let out a weary sigh. "Come on, Troy. Everything worked out in the end, didn’t it?" I replied, trying to sound reassuring. "She’s awake, and I’m going to see her. Don’t be upset, okay?" "Do you think I want to be upset like this?" he shot back, gripping the steering wheel tightly. "You take your life for granted, and it's driving me crazy. What would have happened if you had drowned? You could have died a meaningless death, with no one there to save you." I managed a small smile. "Okay, okay, I was wrong. I promise, I won’t risk my life like that again." He shook his head, exasperated. "I don’t care what you sa

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   DO YOU PROMISE?

MARIANNE Mildred lifted her gaze, which had been lowered, and stared at me in surprise. Her face was pale, and her eyes shimmered with a raw pain, but I couldn’t care less about her suffering. “What are you doing here, ma’am?” she asked in a trembling voice. I smiled, a touch of irony in my tone. “Is that the right question to ask the person who saved your life?” She gasped, her hand covering her mouth. “You... you saved my life?” “Let me show you something,” I replied, my voice steady as I took out my phone. Navigating to my gallery, I selected a video clip and turned the screen toward her. It captured the very moment Tony had thrown her into the river, rain pouring down on them. Her eyes widened in horror as she watched, unable to tear her gaze away. “Tony… he threw me into the river… he left me to die?” “Yes, even though he knew you were still alive,” I said coldly. “Last night, he threw you into that river, condemning you to a death as horrible as any punishment he c

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   A SURPRISE

MARIANNE On our way back home, Troy and I made a stop at the police station to deal with Paula and her mom. They had been locked up for quite some time, and now I had a decision to make—either have them formally charged and sent to court or let them go. "I'd like to speak to Paula first," I told the policeman attending to me, my voice steady but firm. Troy, ever attentive, squeezed my hand. "Are you sure you don’t want me to handle this while you wait in the car?" I glanced at him and smiled softly. "Don’t worry, Troy. I’m fine. This is something I need to do myself." When they brought Paula out, I was taken aback by her reaction. She immediately fell to her knees, her face streaked with tears. Her swollen, red eyes told me she’d been crying long before she was summoned to meet me. This wasn’t the proud, defiant Paula I once knew, the woman who’d never show weakness before me. "Please forgive me," she choked out, her voice thick with regret. "At first, I thought you were M

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   DATE

MARIANNE I waved Troy goodbye once again as he turned and got into his car. The moment he drove off, I went back inside, locked the door, and took out the gift he had given me. It was a stunning, floor-length red dress that practically radiated elegance and allure. The fabric was a rich, silky material that caught the light, with a daring slit down one side and a neckline that hinted at sophistication while teasing a bit of skin. Its deep crimson shade promised an unforgettable evening, perfect for a night filled with luxury and romance. "Wow!" I exclaimed as I stared at the dress, running my fingers over the soft fabric, feeling its weight and beauty. "He has such good taste," I admitted, before dashing into my room to get ready. I took my time with a hot, luxurious bath, feeling the warm water relax every muscle in my body. I brushed my teeth, the minty freshness leaving me invigorated. Wrapping myself in a plush towel, I moved to the mirror and began styling my hair, ca

Alva sat by the window, the golden sunlight pouring over her as she gently caressed her rounded belly. She had just registered her marriage to Jonas a week ago in a quiet ceremony, their rings simple yet meaningful. Though their wedding celebration had been postponed until after the baby’s arrival, her heart was full. But today, she was restless. “I miss Mom,” Alva said softly, turning to Jonas, who was busy arranging a small pile of baby clothes they had recently bought. “I want to visit her.” Jonas looked up with a gentle smile, crossing the room to kneel in front of her. “Then let’s go,” he said, taking her hands in his. “You’re her pride and joy. I know seeing you will make her day.” As they prepared to leave, Alva suddenly gasped, clutching her stomach. A rush of water spilled onto the floor. “Jonas…” she whispered, her voice trembling. Jonas was at her side in an instant. “Your water broke,” he said, his voice steady despite the panic rising in his chest. “It’s time.”

A few days after the press conference, Jonas stood outside his parents' home, holding Alva’s hand. The house was an impressive estate surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers, reflecting the warmth and grandeur of the Stanford family. Jonas turned to Alva with a reassuring smile. “Nervous?” he asked, squeezing her hand gently. “A little,” Alva admitted, glancing at the imposing double doors. “Meeting your parents officially is a big deal, Jonas.” Jonas chuckled, leaning in to kiss her forehead. “Trust me, they’ll love you as much as I do.” As they stepped inside, Alva was immediately enveloped in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Jonas’s mother, Marianne, rushed forward, her arms outstretched. “Alva!” she exclaimed, pulling her into a heartfelt hug. “It’s so wonderful to see you again. Jonas has told us so much about you.” Alva smiled, touched by Marianne’s warmth. “Thank you, Mrs. Stanford. It’s an honor to meet you again.” “None of that formality,” Marianne said, waving he

A few days after the workshop ended, Alva returned home with Vidar and Jonas. The trio’s spirits were high, their bond stronger than ever after the eventful days they’d shared. But their cheerful mood took a sobering turn when they learned about Thea’s actions. Sitting in the living room, Karina explained everything; Thea’s betrayal, the recording, and her banishment to Australia. Alva’s face showed a mix of disbelief and relief. “She really tried to have me killed?” Alva whispered, shaking her head. “I can’t believe it.” Vidar clenched his fists. “It’s a good thing she’s gone. If she weren’t, I don’t know what I would’ve done.” Jonas nodded in agreement. “Your mom handled it well. And I think Australia is more mercy than she deserved.” Karina sighed. “It wasn’t easy, but it had to be done. I couldn’t risk her harming you, Alva.” She reached out, taking Alva’s hand. “You’re safe now, and that’s all that matters.” That evening, Alva and Vidar invited Jonas to join them for dinner

  • EX-WIFE'S REVENGE   I WANT US

As Nikolai held Freya in his arms, steadying her after her fall, their eyes locked. Time seemed to slow, the patter of rain on the windows fading into the background. Freya’s lips parted slightly as she gazed up at him, her cheeks flushed, her breath soft and quick. Neither of them spoke. They didn’t need to. The intensity in Nikolai’s gaze was mirrored in Freya’s own, and before they realized it, their faces inched closer. Their breaths mingled, and then their lips met in a soft, hesitant kiss. The kiss deepened quickly, fueled by the tension that had been building between them. Nikolai’s hands slid to Freya’s waist, pulling her closer, while Freya’s fingers curled into his shirt, clinging to him as if afraid to let go. The warmth of their connection surged through them, igniting something neither of them had felt before. Freya tilted her head, giving him better access as Nikolai’s lips moved with hers, their passion growing. As Nikolai guided her onto the couch, he looked into

As Karina watched Thea being dragged away, her resolve only hardened. "No matter what happens, I will never let you come back, Thea. I’ll make all the necessary arrangements to ensure that even if I’m no longer alive, you’ll never harm my daughter again," she thought coldly. Meanwhile, at Fjord Garden, Freya sat in the now-empty restaurant, her heart sinking with each passing minute. The rain continued to pour, and the once-romantic atmosphere now felt gloomy and cold. Glances from other patrons made her feel self-conscious, as though they were silently judging her for being stood up. Her phone had lost service, and she couldn’t reach Nikolai. Frustrated and embarrassed, she decided to leave. She walked out into the rain, clutching her small bag as she began looking for a cab. In her haste, her phone slipped out of her hand, splashing into a shallow puddle. "Damn it," she muttered, crouching to pick it up and wiping it off with her damp sleeve. The rain soaked through her clothes,

The next day, Nikolai couldn’t keep the grin off his face as he prepared for his second date with Freya after work. He had spent the entire night replaying moments from their first date, unable to think of anything else. Every time her laughter echoed in his mind, he found himself smiling like a fool. At the same time, Freya was already dressed and ready, her excitement bubbling over. She had chosen a light floral sundress that flowed beautifully around her, paired with simple sandals and a small clutch bag. She couldn’t stop thinking about Nikolai, her heart racing every time she imagined his smile or the way he had looked at her the night before. As Freya waited, her phone rang, and she picked up immediately when she saw Alva’s name. "Alva!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement. Freya shared everything about her date with Nikolai, thanking Alva profusely for making it possible. Alva, equally thrilled, recounted her own dramatic day at the auction, sharing every de

Vidar folded his arms, staring at Mina with a mixture of disgust and disbelief. His voice was cold as he spoke. "You know, Mina," he began, "after I found my long-lost sister, I was looking forward to introducing her to you. I thought you two could be friends, and maybe there was even a future for us. But you revealed your true colors before it ever came to that." Mina opened her mouth to speak, but Vidar raised a hand, silencing her. "I’m happy I realized your disgusting nature before I gave you a status in my life. Don’t ever come near me or my sister again," he said firmly. "And, oh....get ready to explain yourself in court for defaming Alva." Mina’s face paled. She turned to Emilie, who was just as shocked as a lot of people to learn that Alva was Vidar’s sister. Mina dropped to her knees, tears streaming down her face as she begged. "Vidar, please, I’m sorry! I love you so much. I thought Alva was your new girlfriend. I was blinded by jealousy. In a final act of desperation, Mina turned the purse upside down, spilling its contents onto the floor. A few items fell out: some feminine wipes, a sleek black card, and a few dollar notes. The crowd watched in stunned silence as she crouched down, furiously pawing through the small pile. Alva stood above her, her gaze calm but piercing. She folded her arms, watching Mina humiliate herself. As Mina’s panic grew, Alva’s mind flashed back to the bathroom. The bistro’s warm glow under string lights reflected on the tranquil water, creating an intimate and magical ambiance. As Nikolai entered, his eyes landed on Freya, who was already seated at a table near the window overlooking the lake. The sight of her momentarily took his breath away. She wore a deep emerald green dress that complimented her fair complexion. The soft fabric flowed effortlessly, cinching at the waist and flaring slightly at her knees. Her hair was styled in loose waves that framed her delicate features, and her light makeup highlighted her natural beauty. Freya’s bright smile, however, was what truly stole Nikolai’s attention.
