CHAPTER SEVEN

Chapter 7

LEO’S POV

I paced around my office in the mansion. My mind raced like a turbo engine, anxious, curious, but also, angry. Something was going on under my nose, and I needed to know what it was. If Maya should turn out to be in trouble, I would have to help her. But how can I do that when I don’t even know where she is.

I held my phone in my hand, waiting for a call or a text. Anything. It was midnight, but I couldn’t sleep. My men were out looking for Maya and I awaited their response. While I did this, I began to anticipate what could be happening. If Jared wanted to sleep with her, why carry her out of the club, and while she was unconscious.

‘Was she drugged? Or worse… does he wish to sell her for trafficking purposes.’ I thought and simply thinking about Maya being exchanged as a slave or prostitute made me clench my fist so tight that the whisky cup in my hands shattered. However, the pain I felt now was little, compare to what I was ready to make someone else feel if they crossed me.

I looked at my hands and noticed that my claws were out. I was getting too angry, and I needed to cool off. I took a deep breath and my claws retracted. At the same time, my palm healed up and the shattered glass fell off.

Suddenly, my phone began to buzz and I quickly walked towards it and picked it up. It turned out to be Fred.

“What’ve you got?” I asked.

“Security footage, sir. The men checked sir Jared’s house, but he doesn’t seem to be at home. However, I found the security footage of him driving his car but lost him at some point. However, we might have an idea where he’s headed.” he explained and I couldn’t help but feel grateful for having such an efficient Beta.

“Send me the coordinates. I’ll meet you at the rendezvous point.” I ordered.

“Already done sir. How long will it take you to get there?” he asked and I checked my phone and looked up the coordinates he sent to me. Seeing the address, I replied him,

“Not very long.” I said before ending the call and walking to my garage. Rather than have someone drive me, I’d rather drive myself. The garage door opened and I opened my black Audi RS7 Sportsback and started the engine. Without wasting time, I shifted the car’s gear and zoomed out of the garage before drifting out and facing the gate. With a remote, I opened the manor’s gate and sped off. It was midnight, and the roads were close to being barren, giving me the privilege of going at speeds of over 230mph.

After about ten minutes, I reached the place Fred asked me to meet him and I found him leaning against a car, together with two other men. I parked the car and got out.

“You sure got here fast, Alpha.” he commented but I wasn’t ready for jokes.

“Any updates?” I asked.

“Yeah. I’ve sent scouts and we’ve confirmed her location. She’s in a warehouse that has been sort of inactive for a while. Jones did some recon on the warehouse. Guess who owns it…” he explained and I could already make a good guess.

“Jared.” I growled.

“Thought so. However, the place seems to be secure for some reason today. Jones wasn’t able to look into the warehouse due to the armed guards in the AO. However, I see no reason for him to guard the place if not for the fact that he’s keeping something that needs to be guarded over there.” Fred deduced and I began to recall Jared’s words to me whenever he spoke of Maya.

“He’s guarding his ‘Ace in the hole’.” I uttered before looking at the rest of the men, “Alright then. Let’s move.” I ordered and they all nodded before entering their cars and we all drove towards the warehouse where we believed Maya was being held captive.

In less than three minutes of driving, we reached the warehouse and we found about ten men guarding the place, with three men guarding the front door.

While they were armed with guns, so were we. Even though normal bullets didn’t work on us, it didn’t mean that we could survive being sprayed with a 50 cal. Thankfully, they only had assault rifles. My men and I got down from the car and walked straight for them. Seeing us, one of them stepped forwards and extended his arm to stop us.

“This is a restricted area. State your business.” he claimed.

“I’m here to see Jared.” I replied but the man didn’t allow it.

“Sorry, but Mr. Jared isn’t expecting visitors. We have orders, no one goes in.” he claimed and my face tightened. The boiling rage inside me was starting to come out, but I didn’t want to act out of anger.

“Look, I’d rather not resort to violence, So step aside, please.” I said but the man and the others behind him pointed their guns at me.

“We have orders, sir. Walk away, or we shoot you where you stand.” he threatened. At this point, not only my anger, but my arrogant side was just about to take over and I wanted to show these humans who the Alpha was here. However, before I could, Fred suddenly disappeared from my side and the next thing, he appeared before their leader before grabbing his head and smashing it on the ground, killing him instantly.

The others were too shocked to move. Despite having guns in their hands, they were still stunned. Fred’s hands were covered in blood and he twisted his wrist a bit before looking at the others.

“Sorry, but you’re in no position to go against us, humans.” he growled. His eyes were black, with only his pupils shimmering a blood read glow. Fred was always one to smile, but for the first time in a long time, he had a deadly look on his face. His gaze struck fear in the hearts of the men and they shivered. Despite holding guns, they noticed that Fred’s eyes were threatening and they almost began to question if their guns even meant anything to the monster before them.

Suddenly, they stepped aside and my men and I walked into the warehouse. However, however, what I saw there, I would never be able to unsee
