The Queen mildly narrated the full story to him. At that juncture, the Prince's demeanor changed from worry to sympathy. He looked at his father's face, and encouraged, “My father, don't be mad at yourself. You wouldn't have done it under normal circumstances.”

“You are right, my son. Thank you for your understanding. Appreciate your mother on my behalf for watching my back all the time.”

“Thank you, mother, for taking the initiative to secure the baby. Who knows what the maid would have done with the pregnancy?”

“You are welcome, my son. Thank you for accepting to bond with her. It made the burden very light for me.”

“That was the least I could do, my mother. You are a wonderful mother to us. I can't imagine life without a sister like her.”

Nevertheless, the King was not through with the unburdening of his heart. Then, he asked, “How do I break the news to her? How do I look at her face and introduce myself as her biological father?”

They looked at him for a while before the Prince s
