53. The Secret

Sir Gilmore and his wife left with the relieved guests. Nevertheless, the family had returned to the parlor, and the Prince was exhausted, and needed to take a rest. Then he called his parents' attention, “My father, I will take a rest. Kindly Let me know if you still need me.”

“Take your seat, my son,” the King requested. The exhausted Prince obeyed, and sat down.

“I think we need to know. What do know about Alfred's mother? She was not mentioned at all in our conversation.”

“Neither did she come with them for the son's wedding,” the Queen added. The Prince shook his head in disapproval, and said, “I have no idea about her.”

“Did you see her the time you visited?”

“Not at all, my mother. Meanwhile, I didn't visit Sir Walter's house. We had lunch at his old man's home.”

“It is all right. We will talk more about that. You can leave,” the King proposed. The Prince got up straight away, and greeted, “Okay, my father. Later.”

“Later, dear,” the Queen added, and the Prince left. The couple
