Laura kept going down a dark narrow little hallway, following the soft cries which kept drawing her; until the noise was only a thud, not a roar. Huddled a few meters from where she stood, she noticed a glow like that of a lamps' ~ it seem to be the only light in the tunnel; yet so fragile which made Laura squint her eyes to catch a better glance of whatever it was. As she stepped closer, it spontaneously lifted it's head, glancing up at it's interrupter~ revealing her pale, tensed and terrified face. Her eyes puddled in tears; red and rimmed with tears.
" Mya ? " She cried in a near whisper, her eyes danced with unshed tears. It was actually a she not it; it was Mya~ Laura's face intuitively registered her surprise as her sister instinctively jerked up and threw her arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug as if she was gonna vanish with just a breath. WARD 212 Beep... Beep... Beep..., the monitor finally normalized, reading in its weave-like lines indicating Laura's lifeline as she eventually opened her eyes. Her chest rose and fell softly and her breath was like a fog in the oxygen mask." She's awake..." A nurse joyfully cried and every one of them cheered."Great job, guys " The doctor hailed. Amy who was all along, peering from the glass panel with Kelvin, hugged him in tears~ it was tears of joy."Our Laura finally made it, Kelvin... She eventually won the race" She cried with a chuckle, almost like a person with a mental ailment. Kelvin couldn't help than hug back, his joy weighed into tears." Yes, mum~ I told you, our Laura is a fighter" He added. They both watch her oxygen mask taken off by the doctor and they smiled." Laura?... Ben's condition wasn't as bad as Alixies except for his bandaged leg after the bullet was taken out; he was just fine. The doctor had asked for him to stay for a couple of days so to check its progress of which he had been subjected to a wheelchair for the time being. After the doctor had excused himself, leaving him with his stepfather, Ben asked." How is Alixies?... Any news?" His calm gaze spontaneously fixed on Drake who noticed the guilt, fear, and nervousness which lingered in his eyes~ the fear of losing someone dear to your heart and the guilt of being the cause of their pain. This was like a new part of him which he had never seen before." Oh, um...yeah" He stuttered. " She made it through the surgery " With this, Ben instinctively flung his legs off the bed as he reached for the wheelchair and settled in. He nodded and what first came into Laura's thought was Alixies~ not remembering much from her ghost life, yet she found out she'd risked her life saving him. Those unfortunate moments were clearly printed in her subconscious mind ~ shooting a questioning gaze at him, she asked." Have you already met Alixies ?"His lips pursed in despair while his gaze spontaneously traveled down to his feet as the question rang in his ears. With the swift rasp from the door which spontaneously swept off the silence hovering the room, Rubin glanced back at the door, balancing his gaze with no interest at all, and intuitively spun back to what he was doing on his PC. " She echoed but he just remained unbothered, sticking glued to his seat. As if on an impulse, she gingerly added. " Hey, let's talk... Alixies finally made it out of her coma state after an endless week of undetermined fate~ everyone had just hoped she survived without any assurance at all. This revelation had brought pure joy and jubilation to both Laura and Alixies' families. With the news, Laura was the second to rush to her ward in her wheelchair after her mother had hurried home for a few stuff."Alixi...." She called from the doorway as she rolled over. For a second, Alixies couldn't believe her eyes~she thought it was just her ghost but then, on a second thought; Rubin wasn't with her and again, the wheelchair and the hospital garment she was in." Laura.....?" She called in a near whisper, her eyes widened in disbelieve. " Is...that...you, Laura?" She asked with teary eyes and Laura cheerfully nodded with a broad smile." Yes... Alixi, it's me..." She answered. With that, the two bundled in a heartfelt hug as they clenched unto each other~ sorrow and joy mixed up and they burst in
