96. "Like a Family"

"Because I want you back. Now that you appeared in my life again, do you think I can just let you go away?"

When Martin inquired about it, Vic remembered what Hunter had said. Martin went through a period of depression after she passed away. And he wasn't doing well after the trial. He was holding onto his strength until he discovered that she was actually still alive.

Aside from that, Martin confessed his feelings for her.

'That's why I didn't want him to know the truth,' Vic said to herself.

Just then, Martin continued, "Besides, you have no place here. You aren't the real Victoria Red. How long are you going to fool Victoria's family?"

Vic had a lump in her throat. Mikhail told her to keep it a secret from his parents. He didn't want them to know the truth even after the real Victoria came back.

But at some point, Martin's words got to her.

When she feels guilty about deceiving the Red family, Martin reaches out to comfort Vic.

"But you have a place in me," he reassured. "If the Re
