When we finally entered the room, a flawless face of a gorgeous woman in green captured my view. Her chignon hair-with multiple braids-matched the slightly curved of a deep shade of her chocolate brown eyebrows. Its black, blonde hair shimmered like a river in the moonlight. Her rosy pink lips were as glossy as silk clothing. These unique characteristics gave her a more substantial look but at the same time, a pleasant one.

"Who braided her?" Mrs. Codache sputtered, which brought me back to my entire consciousness. I blinked my eyes several times before listening to their conversation.

"I think Sophia did that." Mrs. Writes answered.

"You think so?"

"Yeah," Mrs. Writes went nearer to the lady in bed, glanced to her for a while. "I mean, there's no one here except before Wake came except you, me, and Sophia. And if you're going to ask me if I did that, no way! I can't even brush my own hair properly." She reasoned out even if Mrs. Codache

did not bring up a question to that.

Anyway, since she mentioned how she did her hygiene, my eyes quickly glanced towards her hair, which, according to her, was not brushed properly. And yes, the curl pattern of each strand and the flat texture distracted me.

I observed Mrs. Codache's expression after hearing out the words of Mrs. Writes. I felt kind of weird. I mean, it's not surprising anymore to hear that girly topic from these women but, one thing that was keeping me bombarded was how Mrs. Codache reacted to it.

Her voice was questioning in an astonished manner. Did she really have no idea upon who did that chignon hairstyle and those tiny braids towards her?

"I know, but the thing is, Sophia went out looking for some drugstore a minute after we laid Sarah to bed, and during that time, Sarah's hair wasn't braided nor in chignon style." Mrs. Codache explained. Her forehead wrinkled, and her voice was insisting. She was persistent in her words like she certainly knew there was something wrong happening.

I became more suspicious of the surrounding. Did these women mean an unknown creature approached Sarah just to fixed her hair? Or these women here were just overacting?

Mrs. Writes roamed towards the other side of the bed. "Maybe you just didn't know that your daughter came back here." She stated while raising her shoulders.

Mrs. Codache was about to say something back, but she just shook her head and began fixing her daughter's blanket.

Okay, going back. Where am I?

My eyelids flickered because of what was happening.

Later on, I found myself examining the state of the lady. I also found out that her name was Sarah. I advised them to bring Sarah to the nearest hospital, to which they all agreed. We drove along the road under the rain, and the hospital turned out to be too far away from what I expected. But other than that, we arrived.

I never knew before that this hospital we're in was related to the company I am working in Prisila. I just exchanged my identification card with the doctor, who was supposedly the one in charge of Sarah. Afterward, they allowed me to perform professional care for her.

After I did all the possible care I could give to her, I assigned a VIP room for her stay. Then, I left the family for a while since Sarah's sister came.

-

I was on the rooftop right now. I stared at the sky while drowning my thought of the things that happened along the way, most especially the incident that occurred in Prisila. A few moments later, the sun began to disappear. I checked my watch, and it was almost 6 pm. So I decided to go back to Sarah's room to check her situation.

When I arrived, my eyes were directed towards Sarah's bare face. Her calm, almond eyes met mine. I can't explain the reason behind this, but my eyes can't look away from her, observing her state. But, she nonchalantly wandered her eyes around like it was her first time being in this place.

Because of what happened, I just noticed it by now that only she and her sister were here. Her sister was sleeping on a couch, so I stepped a few feet towards the lady to wake her up.

"Ugh! Mom! It was the perfect time to sleep, especially that it's raining. I wonder if I could have enough sleep, huh?" She exclaimed. She looked irritated because of what I did.

She did not even glance at me first, and now she thought I was her mom. I coughed in a monotonous way to catch her attention.

When she heard my voice, she slowly turned her head to face me and immediately stood up. Maybe because she realized that the sound was far away from her mother's.

"Oh-ah..." She panicked. "I am sorry-"

"I apologize." I accidentally cut off her words, which made the two of us gazed at each other.

I initiated to begin the formality by talking about the medicines needed for Sarah. I gave her the prescription, then, in the blink of the eye, she left.

And without wasting my time, I drew my attention to Sarah. I sat beside the bed and glanSarathe papers I held for a while before looking back at her.

Her eyes accidentally approached mine.

I smiled at her. "Hi Sarah, how are you?"

She casually smiled back in response, which emphasized her fluffy cream cheeks.

I moved the papers right over the table beside me. After which, I introduced myself, praising Sarah, in an enthusiastic matter. In contrast to that, her face looked confused. I do not exactly know the reason behind that expression, but according to my observation of her right now, she had no idea what she had been; so, I told her.

"You accidentally slipped on the stairs in your home. You were unconscious while doing it."

Her eyes widened, looking at me straight into my eyes. Maybe because she wasn't expecting mo to utter those words? Or perhaps I got what she really thought.

"Your face said so." I plainly added while looking at her records while writing some adjustments.

I was thinking of asking her questions about how she feels, but she suddenly raised her hands just enough to see the wound in my perspective. I stopped writing. I wondered if I missed something out when I checked all of her injuries to make sure that I would not miss anything.

Did I?

I gently grabbed her pulse and gazed into the wound.

"Wait, what? But I did not see this a while ago..."

I felt weird when I noticed that the wound was not just an ordinary one. It was made from a child's nails! I didn't see this a while ago. I tried to flashback everything, but I did not remember anything!

I quickly grabbed my bag and get some treatment. This wound bothered me. I can't concentrate that much on what I was doing, which made me to the point where I accidentally moved one part of Sarah's fingers where the wound spurted blood so thick.

Sarah gushed, which made me dumbfounded. So with precision, I quickly placed her hand comfortably above mine and began limiting the blood to flow more. Although everything was made alright, I noticed that the rain suddenly roared too much from being mild. And so, my head automatically looked outside the window.

The wind blew wild, that I can hear it from the inside as it was splashing all over the window's glass. I slowly faced Sarah again. I stared at her with eyes full of puzzling thoughts. I observed the wound once again, and a lot of speculations were circulating around my head.

I thought that what I saw was just a figment of my imagination caused by too much stress; however, after seeing Sarah's same reaction, I decided to press the wound one more time to satisfy my doubt.

And yes, I wasn't hallucinating.

The rain became much more robust, and when I released the tension towards the wound, the rain began to slow down.

I can't help but keep staring consciously at the wound. I have a bunch of questions that kept roaming around my thoughts. At first glance, if this thing I've been experiencing was real, this could serve as my piece of research. However, I can't still totally believe it.I have been too much overwhelmed by the unexplainable things that happened before this. So I thought maybe I just need some rest?

I was in the typical office to prepare the papers needed for Sarah to discharge from the hospital. The ambiance was admittedly comfortable even though I did not know the people working right here. When all the requirements were on my arms, I promptly fixed anything on the table then left. All medical facilities were busy yet maintained to give a clean and antiseptic impression towards the patients. Doctors and other medical staff greeted me with an approachable facade while I was passing through the hallway. And, of course, I nodded as a form of greeting them back.

Sarah CodacheThe noise of the crowd outside our house woke me up on this relaxing day. My limbs could barely function, and I couldn't stop yawning. My eyes were half-opened while trying to see what was in the noise outside through my room's window. The clouds were cotton white, and the sun shined bright; its rays were sharp. At this time, I knew that I woke up late. From the vicinity of my window, I saw many people standing in front of our house. The clothes they wore were familiar. It w

  • Dwell with Snaedis   Epilogue

A panic gripped the whole metropolis, spanning all planets in the other dimension, after the unexpected growth of enormous yellow flowers surrounding them, which emitted a disagreeable and potentially lethal stench that caused people who inhaled it to perish. The odor may be found in all cities, including the provinces and other adjacent towns, as well as in the countryside. Infants were sobbing, and their moms were doing all they could to rescue their children. People scurried away from the scene, seeking refuge in the surrounding buildings and infrastructures.Others who were unfortunate enough to be the first ones in were denied the chance to knock on the glass doors, appealing with others who had already inside to please open the doors for them. There was nothing they could do except keep hammering on the glass doors, appealing with everyone who came in to open the doors for them.

In the midst of the clouds, a curious shadow of an unidentified monster emerged. The heavens parted, revealing a route that led them to an unending existence. When they continued to search for it for a little longer, the sun's beams emitted bright light that caused them to take a step back and turn their gaze away. Because the brightness was dazzling their eyes, they were avoiding opening their eyes as much as they could."Ack!" yelled Nover as he pulled his body away from them. "What type of unidentified beast is this once more?!" he asked, shouting.Cherish, Flora, and Larch congregated on one side of a massive three-tiered structure where it caters to a great number of leaves, providing them with a safe haven from the limited access to sunlight they were getting. Cassius approached Hanaele from behind and dragged he

Hanaele was catching her breath as she arrived at Cassius’ location. All of them stared at her presence like a walking dead people, especially those that argued against Cassius a while ago. Aided by her comrades at her back, they were the Esperer warriors that helped them fight against the monster trees. They were all exhausted and their eyes looked tired. Larch came to ponder about their situation. He didn’t expect them to get tired like this. It was rare to their perspective to see these legendary warriors in this facile appearance they had.Cassius welcomed them with a question, “Where is Sophia?” His question made Nover bitter. He sighed, looking away and thought of negative things about them. Inside his thoughts, he already knew that they were biased to Sophia. He s

The appearance of monster trees was swerving towards the area that Agila and Esperers were unable to mitigate. The pouring of rain made it tough for them to counter the attacks and shoot the bearing. Cherish fought with Larch and Flora, eradicating the showering debris away from them. Hanaele carried Sophia with her bare arms that Sophia's weight was not a matter for her. The rest of the Agila squad members and Esperers helped each other in escaping away from the disastrous scene. It was risky to fight anymore. The monster trees increased their number from three to more than a five, appearing randomly below the land. "Retreat!" Cassius, running with his horse together with his comrade and Nover, arrived. Cherish used her umbrella to protect Larch and Flora when these two can no longer sustain their strength. Their bodies were wet and shivering in coldness as they ran away from the falling debris towards Cassius' cu

The splatting sound of woods bumping towards the rocks, trunks, and anywhere it gets hit occupied the whole place. The sudden breaking noise of branches and the sharp clattering of metal swords gave disturbance to Nover's hearing. These phenomena made him a hard time concentrating on fighting against the tree monster alone. In addition to that, seeing his fellow squad members died in front of him made his desire to fasten up. However, the exhaustion of thinking for revenge caused a decline in his duty to execute the offense well. He constantly covered his ears from time to time while his eyes were wandering around him. He felt uneasy that he failed to fire his launcher on-point. His forehead wrinkled as he closed his eyes in exasperation of absorbing too many events on his brain. He can't even make a step from the middle of

Sophia rolled on the ground, and she accidentally discarded her sword. She kept avoiding the attacks of this giant monster tree they were facing. She almost lost her breath every time she was making an attack, and she knew that this was her weakness. As a result, this incident brought her to this current situation.Sophia curved her body inward, and she looked like she was embracing herself. Flora used her strings to support Larch's triangular attack to counter more than two branches at one slice."Flora! Watch out!" She urged at Flora even though her back was still on the ground, feeling the pain due to her body's impact. Through her help, Flora successfully dodged more attacks from the monster tree. While Sophia was trying to overcome the pain

From the eyes of a man who sees his girl safe, there was a smile painted on his mind’s embrace. Vince was certain that even though he had to fight those branches alone, at least he felt satisfied, seeing Cherish escaped from the scene. His eyes stuck in her direction until she had landed above a normal tree’s branch. When Vince saw Cherish looking at his state, he felt a sigh of relief even though he was unsure that she noticed him sightseeing her. Meanwhile, when those branches were going to attack him again, Vince rolled on the ground and avoided the impact. He quickly stood up to condition his mind.Vince twisted his body as he dodged all the monster branches around him. Just like what happened to him a while ago, he turned in different directions while spreading his arms to fire the bullets toward

Larch headed the entire Agila squad as the members followed him from his back as they strike their way towards the west. The clinging of their weapons placed at each members' designated sides was echoing in the ears of the crowd. Since only the winds' direction made their capes swaying, they can feel the drop of humidity as it touched their sense."Hayah!" Larch expressed towards his horse while striking the rope to make the speed accelerate. The rest of the Agila did the same.Sophia aligned herself at the back of Larch while Flora and Nover distributed themselves at her both sides. Cherish was alone in the line. She felt emotionless, and Vince can notice it. She seemed in deep thoughts that he wanted to figure it out. He kept glancing at her almond round eyes, which shrunk as they reacted due to the current weather. When Vince's eyes spotted Cherish's wound at the side of her forehead once again, his forehead furrowed. He tried analyzing C

Vince Ski and Cherish Annagesini ran with their horse towards the spot where the rest of their squadmates were resting, including their squad leader Larch Laverens. When they heard a huge commotion that happened in the direction from the horizon, they immediately went back to their ways. Nover was the first one to notice the incident. So, he went a few distances ahead from the two."Nover, what do you think that was?" Cherish asked in the middle of accelerating their speed. Cherish is also part of them. She has round almond brown eyes, curly tips hair in a ponytail, slightly straight eyebrows, and peach lips. She appeared while also wandering around the woods."The sounds of the arrows, bows, chains, swords, and strings came from that direction.
