Sarah Codache

"-Also, please sign these papers." I heard a random male voice talking to my mom. Both of them were sitting in front of each other inside our kitchen table.

They were many unfamiliar faces circulating within that table. These people were all strangers.

It was my first time seeing these faces. They all wore a black uniform with those strange gadgets on their waist. I titled my head as I spotted those things.

Hmm, I wonder how to use these things.

I watched them from the wall's window that divides the kitchen and our living room. My mom looked tired and hesitant to write something on those papers that the guy gave to her. Her hands were shaking, and her eyes were trying to stop the tears from falling.

I started to feel worried about mom. Why was she looking like that?

"Mrs. Codache, please sign it now." The guy pleaded in authority. It seemed like he was in a hurry.

I also wondered what papers were they.

"Oh...I-I am so sorry..." My mom's voice was breaking as she slowly writes on the paper.

"As a parent, we also understand what you feel right now, but this is for your safety." The guy added in a calm, strict voice.

I was wondering about the means of their conversations.

I was about to go towards mom to hug her, but I accidentally went unbalanced when I was going down from the chair. I immediately covered my ears because it gave disturbance to my hearing!

I shouted in a few seconds.

My head turned towards their direction, and I saw them spotted me. I smiled and was about to stand up to fix myself so that I can hug mom, but the guy commanded the fellow strangers to arrest me!

These people divided themselves to lock my arms and legs so that I could not move! I can even feel someone pressed the back of my knees just to let me kneel on the floor! The crowd became noisy, and all I can hear was the panicking voice of those strangers!

"Hurry! Tie her hands!" The guy commanded once again. His voice became loud and more serious in tone.

Then, two men tied my hands to my back. The tie they used was cold and hard, and at the same time, too tight. I was not comfortable with it! I wanted to escape!

I tried to move my body to stop them from putting that uncomfortable stuff on my pulse, including my legs, but it didn't work. The way they held me became more vigorous and tight! I felt pain about what they did.

Wait! Why are they doing this to me? Have I done anything wrong? I cried, and only my heart heard my mourning.

My body began to shake because of this terrifying situation. My breathing became more rapid, and my nerves became wilder. I glanced at my mom, she wanted to protect me, but men of about four or five blocked her way.

"Get out of my way! You are hurting my daughter!"

"Ma'am, we need to do that to avoid her from making any incident."

"But my daughter never did anything wrong! The one that your colleague was doing was not part of the papers I signed!"

"Just follow our orders ma'am-"

"You do not understand!-" My mom's voice was full of worries and love towards me. She wasn't able to continue what she was saying. She was stunned, looking at me.

I felt a thin, sharp object went deep into my neck. That was cold as it touched my skin. I can feel the liquid substance running from my skin towards my nerves. I cannot handle the pain as the liquid reacted to my body.

Maybe this was the consequence I received as I was trying to pull them away from me. After all, it was my fault. I shouldn't have done that thing.

The other man, who was holding the sharp unknown gadget, pressed the top even more. The chills of the unknown substance it has inside were racing to reach my body's interior. And I felt more pain, more chances of being unable to control my movements.

Also, the one man who tilted my head a little bit held it aggressively. I was surprised by what he did. I gasped, and my breathing was disturbed when he did that. I wish he could have done it slowly.

Why are they doing these to me? I haven't done anything wrong! I kept asking myself.

I was confused about the situation.

"You-you're killing my daughter!" I heard my mom shouted towards them. I can even see how they almost hurt mom to make her calm. More than five men were blocking her. So, I tried to wake my eyes up to see my mom. My heart was crying.

I wanted to see her! I wanted to hug mom!

The last time I knew, tears fell into my eyes as I sobbed.

My eyes were about to close when I heard a loud smack of a door being open. My ears were hearing the rapid breathing of a man. It sounded familiar. He was standing in front of the door, with two people behind him. I can't clearly see who he was. My eyes were blurred, but his scent smells familiar.

The man who talked with mom a while ago went in front of him and bowed. His co-workers followed.

"What brought you here, Doctor Wake? Your team should be staying in the hotel to prepare for the scientific experiment." The man asked him with his formal voice.

"Are you controlling my actions? So you are giving me orders right now?" The man who just arrived responded in a cold, irritated voice. His words also sounded sarcastic.

I did not know why, but I was immediately startled when I recognized who that voice was.

It was from my doctor! The one who helped me before!

My eyes were now completely open. I sighted the man who looked ashamed while bowing his head, while my doctor's eyebrow was slightly slant and furrow. He also greeted his teeth. He seemed to be really angry.

When half of my body was laying on the floor, I moved, hoping to catch his attention to help me. But, the lady, who was holding my head, immediately slapped my face from my back. I felt my cheeks became hot, and the pain I had a while ago became more painful. It was like an electric shock that traveled from my face down to my neck.

My breathing became more rapid...

My doctor noticed the situation. His face was in panick as he ran towards me. Those people who arrested me stepped back when he immediately removed that cold, hard tie in my pulses. He kneeled on the floor to give my head a rest towards his shoulders.

And the moment my arms became free again, I quickly hugged him.

But, I felt something was bringing me uncomfortable. I was supposed to feel safe right now but, I felt something weird.

For an unknown reason, my hands seemed to have their own brain as they kept on touching my doctor's back. The leathered jacket that he was wearing disturbed my comfort, so I instantly tore them away.

And because my face was buried in my doctor's arms, I haven't seen the reaction of these people who surrounded us, but I heard a sudden silence when I tore his clothes.

Finally, I felt more comfortable right now.

I was trying to run my hand on the floor to get the jacket so that I'll be the one to give it back to my doctor. But, when my hand reached the exact area on the floor where I threw the jacket, it became wet.

The clothing was no longer there.

At this time, I hugged him tightly to give myself a rest. And the last thing I knew, my vision became dark.
