Lavina – POV

I took a few deep breaths. The door to my cabin creaked open, revealing Nancy. She ushered in my ex-husband, Keenan, who was beaming. Every fiber of my being wanted to cringe at the sight of him; the pain and bitterness he left me with still felt fresh. As soon as he entered, Nancy quietly exited the room. Keenan took a seat across from me.

"Why are you here?" I asked, trying to sound indifferent.

"How have you been?" Keenan responded.

"Does it matter?" I asked, holding his gaze. His displeasure was evident, but the coldness in his attitude didn't bother me as much anymore. I reminded myself that while I once cared deeply when we were together, those feelings were now in the past.

"I came to give you this," Keenan said, handing me an envelope. Hesitantly, I opened it and found a wedding invitation. To my shock, it announced Keenan's upcoming marriage to Veronica.

"Did you come to gauge my reaction?" I asked icily. "Or are you so thoughtless as to invite your ex-wife to yo

I inquired."Who was that man who tried to attack you?" Archer's voice was filled with a protective edge."I don't know," I admitted. As Archer reached out to help me up, my legs wavered. The sudden magic attack had taken me by surprise, and it felt like the assailant's magic had drained my power. Sensing my struggle, Archer swiftly lifted me and carried me inside the house. He gently laid me on the couch, then shut the door behind him. Moments later, he returned with a glass of water, placing it gently in my hands."You still haven't answered my question," I said, looking into his eyes.Archer's gaze shifted to my neck, examining it closely. A deep frown marred his features. "I came here late at night because I was worried about you. I got word from Alice," he began, sitting beside me. "She mentioned th

His face was a blank canvas of emotions, unreadable. He sighed heavily after holding my gaze for what felt like an eternity."Lavina, you've always rejected me. I thought I'd take one last chance to voice my feelings," Archer replied, the pain evident in his eyes. "Before I leave, do you still see me as that playboy? I've told you countless times I have changed.""Archer, it's not about what you say. It's about the actions you take. And so far, it seems you can't keep your promises," I retorted. He closed the distance between us, his presence almost overwhelming. "What are you trying to say?" he questioned, searching my eyes."Nothing," I murmured, my resolve waning. "You should go. I've sworn off dating. I'm done with men." Lavina – POVIt was my best friend Leo, who is not only a wolf shifter but also a business partner. "Hey, how are you?" I was surprised to see him after so long. "You seem to have disappeared for five years, and now you show up out of the blue," I said as I hugged him, and he hugged back, his sturdy frame a testament to his well-built body. As we broke the hug, my eyes met his light green ones, and I noticed his brown hair that matched well with his fair skin."I was busy building empires around the globe," Leo said. I smiled at his response. Alice excused herself as she was called by James. "You look radiant, Lavina," he said."You're always such a flirt," I said, but I couldn't help but blush at his compliment. Leo had a way with words."I always speak the truth, you know that," Leo said."You look sharp in that suit," I said, returning the compliment. Leo's smirk, accentuated by his one-sided dimple, made him look even more handsome. "Well, it's a surprise seeing you at the engagem

Lavina – POV"Your condition surprises me, Ms. Lavina," I looked at the doctor. "You were infertile, and it seems your health did a 360-degree turn, showing that you are now fertile.""How can this be? Could it be an error on your end?" I asked."No, Ms. Lavina. I am sure your health was not good enough to conceive. I will need to run a blood test," the doctor said. She took a blood sample from me and walked away. I rolled out of bed, my mind swirling with disbelief and confusion about this unexpected turn of events."It seems you and I will be doing a lot of baby shopping together," Alice said with a cheerful smile. I smiled at her enthusiasm. I longed to hear this news, and now it comes to me just when I started piecing my life together. I'm not unhappy, but somewhat worried about the child's father. Two men are potential candidates—one I hate to the core, and the other is already engaged. This news will only bring tension to Archer's life if he becomes the father."Thinking about w

Lavina - POVI couldn't sleep at all. I've been alert, waiting for the Stalker to reply, but no message arrived. Who could be this new nuisance trying to bother me? As I glanced at the clock and saw it was 6:00 AM, I decided to try to catch some sleep before getting ready for work, where I needed to review the budget for the recently signed film project. However, I woke up in a panic at 8:30 AM, realizing I was late. I quickly freshened up and dressed formally, hurrying out of my room to make it to the finance team meeting."Good morning," Grandpa's voice startled me as I was about to leave. He offered me a sandwich and juice, but I craved coffee."I need coffee to survive," I told him. Grandpa just gave me a stern look, clearly not approving. "No coffee for you, Lavi," Grandpa said firmly. "I spoke with Alice, and she mentioned the doctor's orders to stick to specific foods due to your health. Unfortunately, coffee isn't on the list." I sighed deeply, wondering how I'd survive the n

  • Dragon King's Human Mate   Brotherhood and curse

Archer– POVWalking into my new penthouse, I surveyed the space—minimalistic with barely any furniture, just a sofa, a TV, and a bed for sleeping. The phone rang, interrupting the silence, and I glanced at the caller ID to see it was my mom. I answered."Archer, where are you?" Mom asked her irritation with me palpable."You know where I am, Mom," I replied, her sigh of frustration audible on the other end. I had recently confessed to my parents that Lavina and I had been intimate, resulting in a possible pregnancy. This revelation was problematic since I was engaged to Eden. Given Eden's background—from a wealthy family and the influential Greennight Pack—this situation could have severe repercussions. My engagement with her was a matter of personal commitment and a strategic alliance between our packs. My pack, the Nightale Pack, sets other packs' standards and rules. However, upsetting the Greennight Pack could lead to political strife, something my father has always managed to avo

Lavina–POVGrandpa and I sat back, relaxing. I told my grandpa what was bothering me because I couldn't keep things from him, and I explained what had happened with our three new neighbors."Everything will be fine," Grandpa reassured me. I nodded and took a sip of my fruit juice."Grandpa, did you ever know my dad was a dragon?" I asked, breaking the silence that had surrounded my father for so long. Grandpa and my dad argued a lot, even when I was seven. Grandpa let out a heavy sigh, showing his discomfort with the topic."Well, I did know about your father being a Dragon shifter, not a human," Grandpa admitted. "Once I found out, I asked Roana to leave Gunther. I was even considering reporting it to the authorities, if you believe that. I tried to talk to your mother, Roana, about it, but she said she knew and chose to marry him. She apologized for keeping it from me.""No wonder you weren't so surprised when I told you I was a dragon shifter," I said. Grandpa let out another sigh.

You saw the report, and then you just left," Archer snapped, barely containing his anger to avoid striking Keenan again."Have you not caused enough trouble here?" Leo added, his tone light but his words sharp. Ella and Darcus remained calm, yet their eyes reflected a clear hostility as Keenan stormed out of the office, slamming the door behind him on his way out of my house."Thanks for stepping in, everyone. Though I could have handled Keenan myself," I said, trying to lighten the mood."Why don't we address the actual issue, Lavina?" Ella proposed, cutting through the tension."What do you mean?" I inquired, puzzled by her insinuation."It seems like there's something on your mind that you're reluctant to share," Ella pressed, her intuition sharp. I sighed deeply. Leo- POVIt's been three months since Leena and I started our smooth-sailing relationship. During this time, I successfully dismantled a gang that was deceiving she-wolves under the guise of a dating site. These criminals would lure the she-wolves, drug their food, and then use them as blood banks for vampires or as playthings. Together with Archer, we tracked down this nefarious group and eliminated everyone involved, ensuring they could no longer harm anyone.I was eagerly awaiting Leena's arrival at my house; she had expressed her desire to move in with me, following the traditional practice of she-wolves living with their mates once they found each other. I had taken great care to prepare her room according to her preferences, as I wanted her to feel comfortable and at home, not just a guest sharing my space. Before her arrival, movers and packers had already delivered and arranged Leena's belongings in her new room. When there was a knock at the door, I quickly opened it, greeted
