Although Heather wasn't looking at Tyrone, she could still feel his piercing gaze on her. For some reason, his staring emboldened her.

A blush crept over her cheeks as she said in a clipped tone, "No."

"Really?" Seth pressed. He looked at Tyrone and said jestfully, "Then, it must be your face that's the problem, Ty. Would it kill you to smile? You're scaring Hattie so much, she won't even sit with you."

Tyrone glanced at Heather as he picked up his glass of wine and snorted. "Oh, I doubt I could scare her. It takes nerves of steel to disregard my instructions, and that's exactly what she did."

There was no warmth in his tone.

Heather's gaze flickered. She knew he was talking about the incident this afternoon when she had asked Anna to deliver the document in her place.
