"It's me! Someone's outside. Don't make a sound," Craig whispered, his hand covering Heather's lips as his eyes fixed intently on hers.

He was wearing a white suit, and his once warm, handsome face now appeared thinner. The kindness he usually radiated had been replaced with a cold, distant demeanor.

Heather froze, wondering why he was there.

They were so close that their breaths mingled. Craig's hand covered most of her face. Heather frowned slightly, instinctively raising her hand to push him away.

Just then, footsteps and voices sounded outside the door, making Heather pause. After a few moments, the voices drifted past the door and faded into the distance.

"You can let go now," Heather said, her lips brushing against Craig's palm.

He felt the tickle and the softness of her skin against his hand. He looked down, meeting her gaze.

Her gaze was calm and indifferent, as if he were nothing more than a stranger, someone with no connection to her.
