Tyrone sneered. "Heather, Craig will still pay even if you talk your way out of this. And once I'm done with him, I'll deal with you."

"I heard someone say I had to keep living, no matter what. That was you, wasn't it?" she asked.

Her eyes met his icy gaze with surprising calmness. "I woke up because of your words."

Tyrone was taken aback and stared at her in stunned silence.

Using a nearby shelf for support, Heather slowly stood up. "If you want to go after Craig, then do it. But don't blame me for it. I'm not taking the fall."

Heather was exhausted and had no intention of delving further into it. She turned toward the door, seeking a place to rest.

In her fatigue, she failed to notice an object on the floor and tripped, falling directly toward a weight rack.

Her eyes widened in terror, and a scream escaped her lips. But before she could hit the metal rack, someone grabbed her and pulled her back into a firm embrace.
