Zuri's pov

I whimpered softly. From the impact of my fall, as I held on to the door frame for support.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" Javi asked, and I nodded, holding my hand away from his grip.

"Javi!" Donavon barked from the distance. He stood without looking back.

"I can handle myself, Beta, please," I said, and he took another look at me before standing back up to leave.

"Please go to the pack infirmary to get yourself treated," Javi said, and I nodded, clenching tighter onto the door; my eyes were getting blurry, and my consciousness was weaning.

The metallic taste of blood that dripped from my forehead and nose made the hairs on my body turn bristle, and I could feel goosebumps form on my skin.

I tried to hold on to the bucket in front of me with my sweat-drenched hands for support, but I fell back to the ground, breaking a bone, and the last of what I saw was my father's stick in the distance.
