Chapter 49: Something was poking my back

My eyes narrowed at his narration. I'm sure he's lying, but why was he sounding so serious as if we were discussing business or something that involved life and death? His mischievous and playful smile was nowhere in sight.

And what did he mean by maintaining several positions? He was making it sound like I was the tyrant husband abusing his little poor wife.

“You are lying,” I said, my face flushed with indignation.

“I think I should be recording some of your actions for evidence next time.” He said it as if he were mumbling to himself, but he was loud enough for me to hear. I rolled my eyes at him in exasperation. Why were his words making it sound like he helped me out of goodwill, but I didn't appreciate his efforts?

“I'm sorry, okay, Can you lift your hands? I want to get down,” I said and saw how he began to smile at me again, his serious demeanor a minute ago nowhere in sight. He looked at me with a roguish grin, making me feel an impending inkling of trouble.
