MORGAN'S POV

“You are angry,” I deadpanned. Looking at her face, that showed indifference. It was as if anytime I took a step closer to her, she moved backwards, three steps away from me.

"Alexa, dear, are you angry because of that?” I asked, looking at her gently. She just turned her head sideways and avoided my gaze. ‘Of course she's mad,’ I thought. The book I read about relationships said ladies loved attention, and I had done the opposite.

“I was busy, Love; I left my phone behind. Is that why you are angry?” I saw how she blushed when I called her "love," with her clear eyes widening in surprise, looking at me with such innocence.

“But you never called me back. I waited the whole day,” she whined, her head lowered, sneaking peeks at me through her lashes and batting her eyelashes rapidly like a scared kitten. Her every action was like a feather tickling me, sending waves through me, and making me feel giddy inside.
