“You don't have to worry yourself with that, Mr. Morgan; I won't be marrying you.” She hissed, her voice full of her previous confidence, and turned to leave. “That's rich coming from you. You are not my type.” I scoffed and grinned at her, earning a glare from her in return. I didn't know why I felt like pushing her buttons so that she would spend more time with me, even if we would only be arguing. I didn't want her to leave. And right now, she is living up to each of my expectations. Such an angry little thing she was. She had reached the door but stopped in her tracks, her eyes spewing fire, and scoffed, “Not your type?” She repeated, her voice shrill, with disbelief written all over her face. I could tell she was obviously not used to this kind of treatment. And then, as if she remembered a great comeback that would agonize me, she smiled and looked at me as if she knew all my secrets. “I know Mr. Morgan's type in that area perfectly well; I'm not surprised.” She snickered, he
ALEXA'S POV *** 2 hours earlier ***My heart beat wildly in my chest as I felt his hands wrap around my waist and pull me closer to him. The warning bells went off in my head, fearing what he planned on doing to me. “Let go of me, you pervert,” I said, trying to wriggle out of his lap. Wasn't he gay? Elise said the man hated women the most, but why was he so touchy with me? ‘Should I test his sexual orientation?’ A naughty idea popped into my head, and I deliberately shifted uncomfortably on his laps, rubbing my butt on the flesh in between his legs. “Sit quietly and don't provoke me,” he said, his voice sounding husky and hoarse, making me instinctively go limp in his arms. “I will ask the questions, and you will give me the answers, and you will tell me the truth. Nothing but the truth.” His voice was dangerously low, sending shivers down my spine, and when he brushed his lips against my ears, all of my senses went haywire, making me nod my head reflexively in succession like a c
I found Elise in the hallway after I got off the elevator. “Where were you?” She asked unexpectedly, making me fumble for a reasonable excuse. “I … I'm, I was...” “Why would you give your purse to the waiter to bring to me? I couldn't even call you because your phone was in the purse.” Elise said, interrupting me. That bastard! Did he have to give my purse to a waiter? He knew I was in his suite under his instructions; shouldn't he have given it to me personally? “Oh, I didn't want to lose it, so I gave it to a waiter to bring to you. I saw someone familiar, so I followed them up to check. You know how curious I can be. Turned out to be a stranger,” I said, laughing awkwardly to cover my unease. “Really?” Elise asked skeptically. “Yeah, why would I lie?” I asked, my voice sounding an octave higher than I intended. “Are you sure? You look uneasy. Did something happen?” Elise probed again. “It's late; let's go home. We’ve had too much fun already,” I said, changing the subject, p
*** A week later ***After impulsively adding a new bucket list, I realized being a femme fatale is not as easy as it seems, and seducing Morgan was even more difficult, but instead of me backing out, I was too stubborn for my own good. I mean, I can only seduce the man if I can see him, right? But after investigating his schedule for the past week, there seemed to be no option for me to “coincidentally” meet him, and it's not like I could go to Wright Corporation and barge into his office and seduce him. ‘Should I just admit defeat? No way!’ I'm Alexa Jones; Morgan Wright will pay attention to me! Or not? Ah, I pulled my hair in frustration when a call from my phone interrupted me. I saw William's name flickering on my screen. I had left all matters regarding Jones Corp. into Williams capable hands and told him not to call me about official matters unless it was absolutely necessary. I picked up the call after the second ring. “Good morning, Alexa, How are you? I hope I didn't cal
"Hey, are you okay?” I asked worriedly, realizing how he was leaning on me, making me nearly trip over my own feet because of how heavy he was and how his grip on me was getting tighter. He had moved his grip from my arm, and his arms were now around my waist with his head leaning on my shoulder, making our position look awkward but very intimate. Elise just stood at the side, staring wide eyed at the scene in front of her. “Call an ambulance; I think he is having an allergic response to something.” I said to Elise and heard the restrained voice of Morgan breath out seven words with difficulty: “I'm... fine… No ambulance. You are medicine.” Morgan spoke weakly, his voice sounding constrained. "No, you are not fine. You really look bad and need to go to the hospital,” I said, knowing I couldn't bear his weight for much longer. Were we going to keep standing here in this position? And what did he mean by me being medicine? “Let's get into the elevator,” said a voice behind me. The p
I woke up in an awkward position, feeling hot all over my body. I ran a hand through my hair and realized Alexa was lying on my chest, making me remember what led to this situation. I had gone for an inspection at the mall when a female sales manager who was walking by my side and briefing me on the sales progress of the newly released skin care line carelessly brushed her fingers on my arm, making me flee from there on the spot. But after I spotted Alexa through the glass and took slow steps towards her with all my might before the inevitable happened, I came to the realization that seeing her and the thought of having her body next to mine could even hypnotize my brain to slow down the pace of my allergy response. She was simply my miracle pill. Alexa slept soundly on my chest, with her head beneath my chin and my hands wrapped around her waist. I looked down at the petite woman with her smooth face and thick eyelashes that were casting a shadow on her face. She looked so peaceful
ALEXA'S POV The next morning,The incessant ringing jolted me awake from my sleep. Who was phoning so early in the morning and won't stop when I don't answer? I got out of bed and walked to the vanity table to get my phone, which was lying on it. The phone stopped ringing just as I reached for it. There were about 22 missed calls from Elise, making me remember the events from yesterday. I blushed as I remembered the kiss Morgan and I shared. I didn't know a kiss could be so alluring and wild, compelling me to forget how to breathe and sucking out all the air in me, leaving me breathless. I remembered how nice he had been to me at the restaurant while we were eating, heaping so much food on my plate that I was unable to finish it all. And then a call came halfway through the meal, and he reverted back to his 1000 year old stoic face. I don't know what kind of news he received that turned the warm atmosphere to freezing cold within seconds, and then he left abruptly, asking his chau
MORGAN'S POV 7:00 pm My fingers hovered over my phone screen as I contemplated returning Alexa's calls. She must have seen the news and decided to call me. Will she be mad at me because I didn't pick up? I could tell she was already displeased and angry because of my actions yesterday, and for the first time in my life, I was afraid of her response if I called her. No one will know she's the one in the picture. I had thought about her privacy and safety and made sure to select pictures that would hide her identity when the news company reached out to me about one of their rookie reporters taking pictures of me. I didn't want my enemies to use her as my weakness and put her in danger, seeing as our current relationship and her stubbornness wouldn't allow her to have bodyguards even if I suggested it. When the director of Global News apologized, saying they were going to delete the pictures and that any leaks would not be from their company, I decided to use the pictures to my bene
