S2| 5. Doubting His Loyalty

Adam was pensive looking at Amber’s back on the bed. Sadness radiated clearly from those trembling shoulders. Every time his wife wiped her face, guilt pierced his heart. When the feeling was no longer contained, he climbed to the bed and hugged her from behind.

"Since when did my wife turn into such a crybaby?" he teased before planting a kiss on her shoulder.

"Why are you here? Go away! Go take care of your ex! She is more important than me," Amber nudged the arm that wrapped her body.

Instead of moving back, Adam put his chin on her shoulder. "You're much more important, Precious. That's why I'm here with you."

"But you broke your promise. You let that evil witch thwart our honeymoon!" Amber looked at her husband out of the corner of her eye.

"Didn't you cancel it yourself?" Adam whispered without thinking.

"Yeah, but it's because of that naive monster! She ruined my mood," Amber said before turning her head and blowing her nose. Her annoyance grew since her husband defended
