I woke up the next morning alone in my bed. In the past, this had been a usual routine. Damon barely slept in our bed, his excuse always being pack business. At the time, I didn't question it, I trusted him. I believed that his dedication to the pack was just as strong as his dedication to me.

Sometimes, I would encourage him to work less, to make more time for us, but it always seemed to fall on deaf ears. Now, knowing what I know, I can see things for what they were.

He wasn’t too busy with the pack affairs, he simply didn’t want to be with me. His priority had always been the women in his life and taking my pack from me.
