“Happy 18th Birthday, Freya!”
The crowd cheered while Freya stood on the stage. Her parents, Adrian and Riley, were beside her.
Freya embodied youthful elegance and charm, a rising star in high society at eighteen. She dreamed of taking over her mother’s jewelry business one day.
In her late forties, Riley’s presence was captivating and serene. Her thick, golden blonde hair cascaded in soft waves, and fine lines around her bright eyes added wisdom and warmth to her beauty.
Adrian stood tall and confident, his well-built physique reflecting years of self-care. His long, tousled dark-brown hair framed his ruggedly handsome face.
Holding the microphone, Adrian expressed, “Today is my first princess’ 18th birthday. I could not be happier for Freya.”
With a smile, he turned to Freya and added, “Freya, since you are now eighteen, you can start dating -”
Adrian paused and noticed Freya’s excitement. He smirked and restarted, “You can start dating when you are twenty-five.”
“Hahaha!”
“Twenty-five? Haha!”
Freya frowned, and Riley laughed her heart out. Since she turned sixteen, Freya had asked about dating high school boys, but Adrian had firmly said no to this request.
After the initial introduction, Adrian and Riley settled at their table with their friends. Having grown up, the kids chose to sit at tables with their classmates.
Supporting Adrian through thick and thin in the business, his former assistant, Clint, now his VP, said, “They all grow up so fast. It wasn’t long ago when they were too clingy as kids.”
“Well, the good thing is, we have time for ourselves now,” Prince said as he wrapped his arms around his wife, Trina. Like Clint, Prince remained to work for Adrian but had now separated under the conglomerate. King’s Pay had grown so successful over the years that it needed to operate independently.
“Let’s look at it this way,” Zia said beside Clint. “We have taught them to be self-reliant.”
“True,” Megan said while offering a toast, and Brian, who was already sipping his wine, raised his glass with everyone else.
“Honestly, I’m not sure if I am ready to let go,” Riley said while looking back at her children.
Just then, two important figures unexpectedly arrived.
“Oh, my god!” Riley exclaimed. “Gaby! It’s been ages!”
Yes, the Wright couple had graced Freya’s birthday. While they remained business partners and friends over the years, the distance made them seldom visit. This was also true with the King’s side.
Riley ran to Gaby’s direction and offered a hug. Gaby said first, “I know, it’s been like three years since we have not seen each other!”
“I remember today was Freya’s party, and it just so happened I had some business in Dowel. I decided to drop by,” Kyle Wright revealed.
They all exchanged pleasantries and greeted Riley and Adrian’s parents. After this, they settled down. The Wrights covered how their kids have started doing things independently.
Charlie approached Riley while Gaby shared, “And Kenneth, he chose to study in my home country. It was so hard for me to let go, but he yearned for independence, a nature-loving environment -”
Gaby looked teary-eyed as she shared, “I miss him so much. This year, he only intends to return on Christmas. He wants to finish college fast.”
Riley and Adrian never realized how much Gaby’s story about Kenneth influenced Charlie. During their chat, Charlie, being fifteen, only listened closely to the adults. However, the next day, Charlie said at breakfast, “Mom, I want to go to college in another city.”
The couple’s eyes rounded. Their gaze landed on Freya, but Freya said, “I’m taking arts. Halliport has one of the best art schools, so I’m staying there. Don’t worry.”
“I haven’t decided where to go to college,” Jasper Anton said.
“I think I want to take engineering,” Kian Abner declared. “I want to study in Dowel.”
“Come on, Dad. We can always chat or call. You have a private jet to visit us anytime,” Charlie suggested, speaking like she was truly ready for college.
The couple fell silent, but soon, Adrian responded, “Well, I guess it’s bound to happen. We just did not realize how quickly time flew by.”
“Yes, our children have grown up,” Riley acknowledged before smiling. “Okay, well, Charlie, Kian, thank you for giving us time to prepare.”
A laugh escaped Kian’s lips. He responded, “Dowel is only a drive away, Mom and Dad. And it’s not like no one will be watching over me. My uncle Carson will be taking care of me. Haha!”
“You underestimate Uncle Carson.” Freya scolded her brother. “He may be younger, but he is strict. Mark my word; he will hold up to his ‘Uncle’ title.”
They all resumed their breakfast in the next few seconds, but afterward, Freya said, “Dad, about the whole dating thing. Don’t you think twenty-five is a bit too long? My friends are already dating -”
“Study first before boys,” Adrian firmly said. “Wait for the right time, and you’ll marry a man.”
He pointed to his children, saying, “This advice goes to all of you, including Jasper and Kian. Be a man before starting a family.”
“Really, Dad? Mom?” Freya asked with a frown. “When did you start dating?”
Adrian coughed against his fist and said, “I started dating when I was twenty - *cough* *cough*
To help Adrian with the situation, Riley changed the subject, “Maybe, at the right time, you will end up dating your Aunt Gaby’s eldest son, Kenneth?”
“Kenneth?” Freya asked with a frown. “I don’t remember him. I haven’t seen him since we were kids. Wasn’t he short and thin and always bringing his inhaler?”
“Nah, Mom. He is not my type,” Freya claimed. “Fine! I’ll date when I’m twenty-five, but I’m choosing who I will date, okay? Don’t dictate whoever I go out with!”
What would happen if the legal wife confronted her husband’s mistress? Riley imagined she would remain composed. After all, she was in the right, and she had every reason to fight, but her body unknowingly shook from anger. It was challenging to contain the hatred she harbored for this woman before her. “What are you doing here?” Claire Monet, the young mistress, asked.Riley Allen Martin, twenty-seven, the legal wife and accomplished jewelry designer, responded fiercely, “I decided to fight for my marriage.”“But you've already agreed to the divorce,” Claire reacted, her big blue eyes narrowing and her face darkening.Ignoring Claire, Riley attempted to walk past her, but Claire grabbed her wrist and pointed out, “I’m pregnant with Brian’s child.”Pulling her arm away, Riley curtly said, “I need to talk to—”"Ahhh! Miss Riley? What did I do to you?” Before Riley knew it, Claire was sprawled on the floor, calling, “Brian, she pushed me! Help! Our baby!"Stupefied, Riley was shocked
"My baby!" Riley woke up with her hand on her belly, her heart beating wildly. "My baby -""Riley, calm down—" Riley turned to a man who was calling her name. She was shocked by his presence and initially could not grasp what he was saying.Next to her hospital bed was Adrian King, the first son of the wealthiest family in the city of Halliport. Though there was a noticeable change in him, Riley immediately recognized him. He was a figure from her past, someone who had become a stranger to both her and her husband. On a normal and happy day, Riley was like a ray of sunshine. She possessed long, wavy blonde hair, a heart-shaped face, and dazzling green eyes. However, that day, Riley did not have to look in the mirror to know she was a mess. Hours earlier, she had been crying her heart out in her car, only to be saved by a stranger. After undergoing medical evaluations and treatments, she passed out due to emotional stress. And now, she found herself back in her miserable state, panicki
In another hospital, Brian Martin held his mistress' hand. Claire was crying in bed, assuming her situation had gotten worse."Brian, I might lose our baby. Your wife, she–she tried to kill our baby," Claire's tear-streaked face bore a look of anguish as she said."I should have just left the city and raised this baby on my own! I'd rather my baby live a peaceful life than be hated by your wife," Claire added. "Why did you have to make me a mistress, Brian? Why?”"I'm sorry, Claire. This was my fault." Brian embraced Claire tightly. He stayed by her side until she cried herself to sleep. Seconds turned into minutes, and Brian continued to stroke her back until he lay her flat on the bed. Brian wiped the tear stains on his lover’s face, feeling helpless. He thought back to the time when he first met Claire.A few months ago, Brian had a business meeting with a VIP client named Mr. Leopard in a high-end KTV bar. They rented a private room, and Claire walked in as the main food attendan
"At six in the morning, Zia came to see Riley first. She reported, "Brian asked me to help check on his... on his..."Zia's words were cut off because Riley resumed, "Claire? He asked you to check on Claire?"Riley frowned, thinking about how Brian blamed her last night. He wouldn’t even listen to her. Then she softly replied, "You should help in any way.""I hate him, and I hate that innocent-looking lover of his even more, but it doesn't mean an unborn child should be deprived of the best medical help. I know you are one of the best new doctors right now, Zia," Riley said. "So, you should. At least he would get off my back, I hope."Riley saw Zia's complicated expression. Zia sighed and replied, "You really are a good person, Riley. My cousin doesn’t deserve you.”Zia took a few steps back and said, "I better go.""Zia?" Riley asked.Looking down, Riley paused and pondered. Then she decided, "I don't want to have anything to do with Brian anymore. I—I don't think you need to tell hi
Riley knew Zia would oppose her leaving, but her mother's life was at stake. The nurses mentioned that Zia was still due to report for work in eight hours. Riley could not wait. So, Riley decided to sign a discharge waiver against medical advice. After leaving the hospital, Riley went to her mother's house to freshen up and change. Later, she arrived at the Halliport General Hospital. "I'm in the lobby. Where are you?" Riley asked Brian over the phone. "In the ICU floor," Brian replied coldly. "Hurry." In the four years of her marriage to Brian, Riley had earned a lot while leading their company's design team. However, she had also spent lavishly on her mother. Renee Allen was a single mother who had made many sacrifices to raise Riley. When Riley began earning decent money, she bought her mother a house, car, jewelry, and other luxuries. Riley also had her own investments. Asset-wise, she could cover the hospital bills herself, but she lacked liquid funds, making Brian paying
Riley's eyes widened in disbelief, her mind struggling to process the unexpected proposal. She blinked repeatedly and probably did the whole blinking cycle three times."Yesterday, I missed something important, so I need a wife. Since you owe me a favor, I was hoping you would marry me," Adrian said. His expression remained calm as he offered marriage, as though it were of little significance."W-what?" Riley gulped. "Marriage for a favor?"Adrian didn't respond. He stared at her intensely, then pointed to his assistant and ordered, "Explain."Riley darted to the man standing behind Adrian. The assistant, whom she had known as Clint Rodriguez, narrated, "Miss Allen, the other day, in order to bring you to the hospital and ensure your health, Mister King missed his engagement party with his fiancée, Leni Eros, the heir to the Eros Empire in Dowel City.""And because Mister King missed the engagement party, Miss Leni Eros canceled their engagement," Clint added. "So, Mister King needs a
Back at the Plaza Hotel, Riley's mouth hung wide open as she thought deeply. Then, she asked, "Why can't you just fix your engagement with Leni Eros?"Adrian's eyes narrowed. He responded, "I'm afraid the engagement is irreparable.""Did - did you try to reason with Miss Leni Eros?" Riley inquired. "You would not really understand until you meet her. Our engagement is off, and that's final. Now, I need a wife," Adrian said. Riley gasped. She responded, "I - I don't think it's a good idea, Adrian. I'm pretty traumatized right now -""I'm not Brian, Riley. I am a different person - a different man," Adrian responded. "And, as you suggested, this will be some sort of contractual marriage, where expectations are set beforehand."Riley gulped. She looked at Clint, hoping to get some help, but of course, he did not. So, instead, she said to Adrian, "But we don't love each other -""You married for love. How did that turn out?" Adrian pointed out. "Love can betray you... But I won't."Rile
At Renee Allen's Residence. [Miss Allen. The boss would like to know if you have considered his offer?]Riley gasped the moment she read Clint's text. She bit her lip and studied herself in front of the bathroom mirror. It had been five days since Adrian proposed marriage. She had not given him a response, but she meant to decline his offer. In the mirror, she saw a reflection of a woman with woeful eyes. Aside from the dark circles around her eyes, Riley no longer had that radiant glow on her face, the one she used to have during her happy days with Brian. She had been focusing on her mother's care these past few days and was trying hard to forget the pain of her divorce, but she knew healing was still a work in progress.Riley ran her fingers through her blonde hair and realized it was tangled. She muttered, "When did I last go to the salon?"With a sigh, Riley asked, " How could I compare to Leni Eros? Adrian is crazy not to fix things with Leni."Riley knew she was also beauti

Part I: APTAdrian and Riley visited the doctor’s clinic when the triplets were over two years old. Charlie, Jasper, and Kian got the flu. When the triplets entered the doctor’s clinic, they saw a cute baby girl. The baby was just six months old and was sitting on her mother’s lap. “Baby!” Charlie said first. She ran to the baby and held her hand. “Oh, no. Charlie. Don’t bother the baby,” Riley said. She tried to hold Charlie away, but her daughter wanted to play with the infant.“I’m sorry,” Riley said to the baby’s mother. “It’s okay,” the baby’s mother said with a smile. “Your daughter loves babies. Does she want another sibling?”The suggestion made Riley choke. The experience of having triplets was enough for her. She loved her children, but raising them simultaneously had been tough. Sadly, Riley did not get a chance to respond to the mother. Kian and Jasper all rushed to the baby with Charlie. “Hi, Baby!” Kian said. Jasper pinched the infant on the cheek. “Guys, be caref
Dear Readers, Thank you for your unwavering support and for being part of this incredible journey. I won't say it's the end because we will still hear from Riley and Adrain. However, Chapter 262 concludes Book 1 of Divorced My Cheating Husband, Married A Billionaire. Book 2 will cover Riley and Adrian's lives years later and focus on their children. Yes, this includes their daughter, Freya. In the coming days, I will write a preview and some bonus chapters using the author's notes. Please watch out for it. Now, the question is when will Book 2 start?I have things I need to take care of—for my kids, my baby, and myself. I have been putting off my follow-up check-up and need to get it done. (Somebody will get scolded by the doctor, and that's me. :))We will also be moving back to our old house, which will take a lot of time.I don't want to underdeliver, so I will wait to give an estimated time. I just want to get the abovementioned tasks out of the way first before coming back with
“Happy Birthday, Grandpa. I love you and miss you,” Freya said while putting a flower on Abner’s grave. Charlie followed, putting her teddy bear down. She said, “Grandpa, you can have Mr. Bear. So you won’t miss us too much.”Jasper followed, leaving a card that he had drawn for Abner. He asked, “Hey, Grandpa. Is it always a buffet in heaven?”The adults behind the kids laughed. Jasper turned to his parents, objecting, “Grandpa told me there’s a buffet in heaven!”“Dad did say that a lot,” Anthony remarked, chuckling. More than a year had gone by since Abner’s passing, and they all visited him in his mausoleum, the same one that housed his departed wife, Marilyn King. Charles and Realyn were also present, bringing along their son. Carson had made a Lego mansion for Abner. He placed it above his tomb and said, “Grandpa, I made a house for you. Hope you like it.”Kian moved forward next. He pouted as he said, “Great-grandpa Abner, since you left, the house has been a bit boring. Daddy
“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, Dear Freya. Happy birthday to you!” On Freya’s 6th birthday, everyone gathered again. The celebration was held at the very first Diamond Hotel in Halliport. Freya stood on the stage with her parents and siblings. She wore a crown over her head and a ballroom gown fit for a princess. She had a bright smile before she blew the candles on her cake. The audience erupted into applause, after which the party host asked, “What was your wish, Princess Freya?”“That I will grow strong and healthy so I can be a businesswoman someday!” Freya declared, adding to everyone’s amusement. Praises echoed in the ballroom. Carrying both his sons, Adrian struggled to clap his hands, but Jasper and Kian did it for him. “Yay! My turn to blow!” Charlie said. She was beaming while being held by Riley. “No, me!” Jasper screamed. “No, me!” Kian said. The guests laughed out loud at how Riley and Adrian’s children wanted to blow out the candles
Over a year passed. “Five minutes more, and we are done,” Adrian said as he continued to run on the treadmill. “Honey, I can’t believe I’m back to running for two straight hours again,” Riley said while catching her breath. Her body was sweating profusely, her athletic wear soaked altogether.” It was the same for her husband. Adrian’s skin was glowing in his sweat, and with him running half-naked, he looked mighty fine. “Rrr. Somebody looks hot,” Riley remarked while checking out her husband. “We should have sex after shower.”“We should,” Adrian said while chuckling. “The last time we tried to make love, Freya walked in on us.”“We should learn to lock the door,” Riley said, but locking the doors was easier said than done when Freya always demanded their time and attention whenever they were home. Since delivering the Triplets, Riley had always asked Adrian to be her exercise buddy. Although her postpartum belly has still not fully recovered, she is getting there. The best part i
“What? Why can’t we see Riley before the delivery?” Renee asked, furious. “Why is she delivering early?”“It’s a delicate pregnancy, Aunt, and she is going into operation right now. Don’t worry. I will take care of Riley,” Zia said. Zia knew that Riley had hidden the truth about her pregnancy. During her second trimester, Riley had attempted to wear baggy clothes to conceal her growing belly. Zia also knew Riley purposely evaded seeing her parents and aunt personally in the recent months.Only Zia, Clint, Abner, Adrian, and Riley knew the truth. Zia even colluded with Riley, giving her a fake ultrasound report. Now, Riley was already 34 weeks pregnant. It was too early for her to give birth, but it had to be done. Going further into the pregnancy was too dangerous. “What’s her condition? Is it polyhydramnios?” Renee asked. This was one of Renee’s suspicions, but Zia always found a way to avoid the topic. “It’s one of those rare pregnancies, Aunt - Oh! I hear Riley crying. I better g
Time passed again, and it was finally time for Zia to give birth to her twins. Zia had no complications during her pregnancy. Thus, she decided to give birth vaginally. She was prepared for the worst. Zia had delivered countless babies and witnessed different kinds of mothers, including those who screamed, cried, prayed, counted numbers, and more. So, Zia was quiet despite the labor pains. However, it was not the same for her husband, Clint.Zia wanted to avoid an epidural if possible, saving it as a last resort. During labor, she hummed and took deep breaths. They were in their birthing suite, with Clint holding Zia’s hand. Between the two of them, it looked like Clint was about to give birth. He was sweating and already jittery. He said, “Zia, you are so strong. I love you so much.”Soon, it was time for Zia to push. She gave it her all. Clint and her doctor helped her through it. However, after several attempts, the first baby was still not coming out! Zia’s doctor decided to perf
“Honey? What are you doing here?” Adrian asked, surprised to see Riley stepping onto the private jet. He was scheduled for a trip to check on the project’s progress in Hawaii, so her unexpected arrival caught him off guard.“I’m coming with you!” Riley declared. “It’s been a while since I accompanied you on business trips. Why not mix business with pleasure? And don’t worry, Freya is staying with Aunt, and so is Grandpa. I figured it was about time we had more alone time together.”She beamed and settled on the seat next to Adrian. She pressed her lips into his ear and pointed out, “You do realize that I am about to ovulate. This is the perfect time to have lots of sex!”“Honey,” Adrian said. “I know about that. I was coming back tomorrow morning.”“Yes, but why not have lots of sex in paradise?” Riley pointed out. “Maybe we need a little adventure.”She scanned the private jet, and after finding Adrian’s new male assistant, she whispered, “We can have, you know, sex on the beach, on t
